2 sets of tickets, how do I make sure they are used in correct order?

We are spending 1 day at the MK on 12/30 before our cruise (therefore, 6 people with 1 day tickets).

Then DH, DD and I are going in February for my DH's convention. I am getting ready to purchase those 7-day PH tickets from Boardwalk Ticketing. I would like to add them to my MDE account, however, I am afraid they may be used for the December trip, and then expire before February.

Is there anyway to add them to my MDE now, but make sure they are used in the correct order?

TIA

Add a "2nd family" to your MDE account. You#2, Child#2, etc. Link the Boardwalk Tickets to Family#2 and they'll be perfectly safe.

After this trip, reassign Family#2's tickets to your real family members.

ETA: If Boardwalk is sending you hard, plastic tickets, you can book FPs for Fam#2 for your February trip and use the tickets for park entry and FPs without having to reassign Fam#2.

My wife and I are going with DS, DDIL and Grandsons in November. They have 3 day passes. My wife and I have 5 days left on 6 day non-expiring passes and we also have 3 day passes that expire. We did exactly what you explained. I set up a second name for me (Grandpa K) and a second name for my wife (Grandma E) and linked the 3 day passes to those names. We will use those and our 6 day passes won't get used. :yay:

You can also just go to Guest Services in one of the parks and have them prioritize your tickets.

If I do this, do I need to link those 3 people to the February reservation so I can make FP+ in early December? When I move them back, with the FP+ stay linked to them?

For your February trip, call and add Child#2 to the room reservation (no additional charge). Then, when you book 60 days before the February trip, book for everyone in Fam#2. Because Child#2 is on the reservation, the booking umbrella includes everyone in Fam#2.

Keep the ticket entitlements where they are and enter the parks and FP lines with the tickets. Your MBs can be used for SDFPs if you'd like.

I called and talked to someone in Tech support and in theory he prioritized our tickets - I am going to stop by / check with guest relations before we enter a park just to be 'sure' (we have 10 day tickets and 2 day tickets - want to use the 10 day ones)

Boardwalk Ticketing does not provide a hard ticket, just a code to link to MDE.

I am sorry I am being so dense about this.

I guess I could just use the hard tickets for December as gate entry and FP+. I prefer the MB, but I don't want to spend hours trying to fix an error.

No problem; your scenario is a little more complicated with two trips in close proximity.

If it's only digital tickets from Boardwalk, you may just be resigned to going to Guest Relations and have the sets of tickets prioritized.

Because you already linked the December hard, plastic tickets, the plastic ticket remains where linked - same as a MB. That plastic ticket will always link to the main people in your MDE not Fam#2.

You'd have to buy a 2nd set of MBs if you did have Fam#2, so, it's easier to link everything to your original Profiles/lines and prioritize tickets when you get to a park or Guest Relations.

I always just reassign the tickets to a "fake" person in my friends and family. And then when we are ready to use those tickets, I reassign them to whoever they are for...it has always worked.

I always do the same. :)

The OP's FP booking window opens for her 2nd trip before she goes on Trip #1. Separating the tickets means she'd need MBs linked to the Fam#2... it makes it a little more difficult than reassigning which is the easiest way to protect tickets.

Thanks for all your help. I haven't linked the hard tickets for December yet, but I have assigned the 6 people to the 2BR at BLT, and I definitely want to be able to make FP+ at 60 days since I know the MK will be very busy. We arrive on the 29th, so I will walk over to guest services to make sure they prioritize the tickets for the 3 of us.

I recommend either using the paper tickets OR stopping by guest services before you leave after the first trip to make SURE they were used properly. It will be a lot easier to get them restored right then. I'm trying now to get mine restored from our last trip when their over-the-phone prioritizatuon didn't work. :headache:

And I love that the young CM I spoke to about our upcoming trip assured me there was no way anything could go wrong with the prioritizatuon she was doing--after we'd already discovered it HAD gone wrong last time. Hope springs eternal......:sad2:

In our case the ticket I don't want to use is a 10 day non-expiring that has already been used, so no reassigning possible. Personally, I would not trust prioritizing over the phone, I will go to guest services before entering the park. And, being the worrier that I am, will probably check with GR inside the park also, to make sure the correct one was used!

Be sure to check after entering park on your last day.

We had the 'wrong' tix were used. Had two sets of leftover non-expiry MYW ones, each with two days on them & the most recent purchase - (special DVC offer for 4 day tix with a use by/expiry date).

I found this out when checking at GS that day as others had suggested here. Told the MYW tix were reinstated & new tix 'prioritized'

The 2nd day, worrier that I am, went to GS & checked again. At this point 'new' sets of tix had one day used, vs the 2 & we were down to 1 day on the MYW tix. :headache: CM worked their magic and told me all was well. No idea why it happened, etc. Handed us fast passes.

I should've checked again before we left, line was long, we had plans, so I skipped it. DH suggested when back home that I should contact ticket research just to make sure.

Turned out they didn't use the 4th day on the special tix but took a day off the MYW tix, wherein we again had just 1 day vs 2 left on it. At that point they wound up issuing us completely new set of MYW tix but without the expiring option.

Wasn't thrilled, argued in that case if they couldn't reinstate the day to the existing non-expiry MYW tix, I should receive two, one day tix instead of a new two day per person, but they didn't see it my way.

Lesson learned - check.:charac2:

I have a similar dilemma, multiple tickets for two trips. I did call tech support to have them put them in a priority order. I am concerned that if you look under the MDE app it shows our one day MK ticket, then our one day PH, then our 5 day tickets. We won an auction so we had to add some and then move or 5 days to the end and add it to our surprise trip next Spring. I called tech support back and they said it didn't matter what online showed their system shows the order I requested. My question is can I use my hard tickets to go through the turnstiles to be sure the correct tickets are used and then just use my magic band for rides? Thank you.

Using the hard tickets at the tapstile just provides the link to your tickets in MDE. Whichever ticket is prioritized for "1st use" will be used.

The hard, plastic ticket when linked to your MDE morphs into and functions as a MB. It's the prioritizing that will be of concern.
