dh, ds 5, and I are staying at Jambo house for 3 nights before our first dcl cruise!! I've already gathered sooo many wonderful tips here on dis, just have a couple loose ends to tie up.

1.What would you do/eat the night you arrive? We won't be in until 5pm (no park tickets or anything). My first idea was hit Disney springs do some shopping and ds might love that T. rex cafe. However, I'd love to eat someplace that looks more like the boathouse and I've read some less than desirable reviews of trex. Anywhere else worth looking into?

2. I don't see wishes FP + available?? Fwiw we'll be in MK 5/19. Is the area just open to anyone now??

Thanks so much for your guidance!

Wishes FP appears to cease after 4/20. Unknown what will become of the area, probably remain open to all for now.

You could try Boma at AKL since you'll be right there, if you want to take it easy. Disney springs is also a good idea. We actually are doing T-Rex bc I have two boys under 5 that I think will love it.

We did trex with my 5 year old nephew a few years ago and he loved it. We actually did too. We just had burgers, so nothing fancy, but we were more than pleased. The atmosphere was great for all of us. surely not a quiet dinner, but I think he'd enjoy it.

Sanaa at Kidani Village would be good if you decide not to go to Disney Springs. You won't find anything similar venue or food-wise on your DCL stay.

You'll be having a lot of buffet food and nice TS meals on the cruise.

Boathouse and Morimoto Asia are good choices for Disney Springs.

Great ideas!! Thanks everyone:) it sounds like trex might be enjoyable after all I know it's an experience ds will probably love. I'll plan Some meals in the next couple days for Sanaa and Boma then when we are coming back from the park and too tired to go out anywhere! I read about them but wasn't sure if they were any good and have never tried African inspired foods before.
Bummer about wishes FP I was looking forward to taking a nice seat and having a great view. Where's the best place to see all 3 night time shows without moving? It's easy at DL mainstreet is perfect but it being so much larger in MK I'm not sure if that the best spot..

Same Main Street viewing as DL for fireworks, castle projection show, and parade.

If you are on Main Street close to where it intersects with the Hub, you'll have a great view of everything.

Being your first trip I would go to the transportation center and do the monorail loop and out to Epcot and back as that would give you many things to stroll around and see. I recommend trying OHana at the Poly as your kid will be entertained and if you go late enough you can also view the Water Parade and Wishes from the beach! Have a great time!

Never thought of that! Great idea.
We only have a one day ticket to MK so maybe this would give us a glance at the other sides of WDW. Thanks!

Awesome thanks! Just the info I was looking for!
