Hi everyone! I am new to this forum, so please be gentle! Can I rent points for more than one villa at a time? If I look at the points it is cheaper to rent 2 studios than 1 2-bedroom villa. Is this allowed? We are a group of 6, 3 adults, 3 children, so we need the space. Thanks! :flower:

Renting points is a personal arrangement between member and renter -- as long as the intent of the member is not to operate a commercial enterprise, DVC, itself, doesn't regulate it.

Two studios will always cost less than a two-bedroom villa -- a two-bedroom villa has 50% more space than two studios combined. So if space is the main priority (over cost), then you'll be better-off with the two-bedroom villa.

You can rent any arrangement of rooms you would like. There is not guarantee that the studios will be near one another, and I don't believe there are any connecting studios. Anyone?

A studio is really a hotel room with a small fridge, microwave, and bar sink. There is one queen size bed and a pull-out sofa. Unless you stay at OKW, then there are two queen size beds and no pull-out sofa.

A two bedroom, is just that. A very large villa with a full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, two bathrooms, and living room. Oftentimes a 2 bedroom is rented as a lock-off which means you are getting a 1 bedroom with a connecting studio. This would give you the amenities of a studio as well. A dedicated two bedroom does not have the studio, but just a second bedroom with 2 queen beds. Oh, yes, there is one king size bed in the master bedroom of the 2 bedroom. Also the living room sofa will pull-out.

Depending on what resort you choose, and day of week, and Disney season, a quick check shows that the points for a weekday single 2-B/R unit will be in the range of 30% to 40% more points than getting two Studios at the same resort, and points for a weekend single 2-B/R range about 22% to 30% more than getting two Studios.

Example: OKW, weekdays, Adventure season, Studio 8 points, 2-B/R is 22 points.
(22-(8*2))/(8*2)=.375=37.5%

BCV weekdays, Dream season Studio vs 2-B/R = 13 pts/34 pts, = 30.7% more pts.

BCV weekend, Dream season: 29pts/72pts, = 24% more points.

Correct. There are no connecting studios (with an iinside connecting door) at any of the WDW DVC resorts. There are very few studios that are adjacent (next to, but not connected with an inside door).

It is unlikely that you will be able to get two studios near each other at any of the WDW DVC resorts - there are just two many variables working against it. As long as you don't need the studios to be close together, the 2 studio arrangement could work for you just fine.

Best wishes -

By getting two studios instead of the 2 bedroom, you would be giving up the washer and dryer in your villa. The jacuzzi tub. The standup shower. The full sized kitchen. The living room TV with either a DVD or VCR. So the extra points can be worth it in the long run.

2 Studios is not that many more points than a 2 BR and you get a lot, as outlined above (full kitchen and W/D being the most important for most people).
