Hi: We are looking for a quiet resort. Been to the french quarter and love it but never been to the old key west. Should we do two rooms at the french quarter/ or a studio maybe even a one bedroom at key west depending upon cost. We are travelling with our adult daughter who needs quietness and a place to lay down if she gets a migraine.

Old Key West is a Disney Vacation Club Resort...if you stay there, you may want to consider renting points from a member for your stay. DVC rooms offer some of the largest on property (esp a 2 or 3 bedroom) and 1-bedrooms (and up) have fully stocked kitchens in them (we won't go into the "cook on my vacation? Never!!" arguement here :lmao: ). OKW is a VERY quiet resort, you will love it...Bus stops will either be very close or a bit of a walk. If memory serves, fast food is available, but no sit down restaurant.

French quarter, as you know...great resort, main building is a pretty short walk (unless you are way out there )...bus services 2 resorts, so they can get crowded...Stayed here one time (september '98) and thought is was very quiet (and we had a view of the parking lot!!)

Have fun and hope this helps!!

One BR at OKW is the only way to go. With the 1 BR, you'll get a galley kitchen with refrig., microwave, etc. Plus a living room/dining room. Plus a
jacuzzi....no contest...

Another vote for a 1 bedroom at OKW. :thumbsup2
OKW does have a sit down restaurant named Olivia's.

Not a galley kitchen, it wraps around two sides of the room with an island that holds the TV between the kitchen and the living room area. All the other DVC villas do have galley kitchens with sink/dishwasher on one side and refrigerator/stove/microwave on the other. Much smaller kitchen in the galley type.

I would go with OKW...but would need the compare the prices before making a final decision =)

The one bedroom units at Old Key West are wonderful. They are the largest rooms on property. As noted, you will have a full size, fully stocked kitchen with all the amenities, one bedroom with a King Size bed, a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and a full size washer and dryer in the unit. There is a dining table and chairs and a living room with a Queen sleeper sofa. There is a patio or balcony with a table and chairs.
It is a quiet, laid back resort.
On the other hand if you had 2 rooms at POFQ, your adult daughter would have the quiet of a darkened room if she had a migraine and needed to rest. We also loved POFQ.
I think you will be happy with either.
Good Luck
