HI,
We're hopefully doing 12 nights in Disney in June (10 right now but more than likely will be extended). Let's say it's 12 nights. We plan to do 4 nights at ASMo and 8 nights at POFQ. We're going to go for 2 rooms at the value but just the one at the moderate. There's 5 of us - DH, me, DS11, DS8 and DD1. People usually recommend doing the value resort first and stepping up then to the moderate and I can see the logic there. But as we have 2 rooms at the value and only one at the moderate, which one would you do first? Start with more space but less amenities or start with less space but more amenities? Thanks! :flower:

Oh, as I'm asking (again, lol!) do you think 12 nights is just too much? Would 10 be enough? I'm thinking 12 so we'll have more down time to spend at the pool and just generally chilling out and shorter theme park days with big afternoon breaks.

I'd do the POFQ first if it were me. For at least my family, I think the extra space may be needed (not to mention the extra bathroom) after we've been together for awhile. Nothing like a little space away when someone gets a littel "crabby", LOL.

Have fun - it probably won't matter much which way you end up.

Best wishes -

We usually go from value to moderate but for your situation I agee with the previous poster that later in the trip some extra space might be nice. 12 days is most deffinitly not too long especialy if you remember to enjoy other things the World has to offer besids the parks. Visit the resorts, do some boating or horse back ridding, hay rides, fishing, other Orlando resturants, outlet mall for Disney shopping, go to the beach for a day take the parks slow and savor the subtle things. Also we look at changing resorts as sort of a vacation reset and we settle in and get to enjoy a entirely new aspect of WDW.

I think a lot of it depends on when you'll be spending your resort time. Your older children are going to be disappointed with the value resort pools after being at POFQ. Also, the boat to Downtown Disney from PO is a fun and convenient way to get there, so plan those trips while you're at PO. I really think your decision is a toss up.

Since you'll have considerable resort time, don't forget that you can also use the pool at POR while you are POFQ.

Thanks so much for the replies - good advice all round!

Carol, yeah, I hear ya about the "crabby"! lol - my 8yo has his moods and it will be nice to give him a bit of space and us a bit of sanity when he starts moaning!

Maddy, I really like your suggestions about enjoying the non-theme park aspects of WDW. That's what I was thinking too. With the baby and the heat and humidity I don't want to be tearing my hair out making things off a 'to do' list in a frenzy each day! lol Yes we'll hopefully be visiting the other resorts and going boating etc. And the shopping. Yes! I'm not a shopping fan at home at all but when I'm on holiday I find it very exciting!

tar heel, good point about the pool! The boys are already excited about the POFQ pool and about getting the boat to Downtown Disney.

Thanks folks! :)
