I am pretty sure I know the answer to this but want to double check myself.

If we have two rooms: 3 people in one room and 2 people in the 2nd room.

We have the 3 people get the dining plan and 2 people do not.

When we go to eat...if all 5 of us are eating together and want to pay with one card - we should be able to put all 5 on the dining card and take away 5 sit down meals right?

Since they are all tallied up together it shouldn't matter who has one and who does not right?

No, but of course this is dependent on the CM, but the rules and the information is available to them. If they follow them it won't work. The ddp is only for those who are registered in the room with the plan. The credits can only be shared among that group, and not with anyone who is not on the plan. Your key to the world card will state how many people (adult/children) are on the dining plan.

If you have one room with the dining plan and one without then you have 2 separate reservations and only the people in the room with the dining plan are entitled to use it. It's not possible to have a single reservation with just some of the people on the dining plan - it has to be everyone or no one.

When you go to a restaurant the server will deduct only the number of Adult & Children's meals listed on the KTTW card regardless of how many people are seated at the table.

You will not be able to use your dining credits to pay for more than 3 meals at a time. So according to Disney's rules you can't share them with the other room.

ahhh...that is what i didn't know that hte key would show how many adults and children..I thought it was just a total of meals...like 4 nights party of 3 = 12 sit down meals.

THank you!!

No, the key card will show how many adults and how many children you have on the plan.

just not the exact names right?

and if you do the quick service..and you order 5 plates yet it says 3 adults...they shoudln't let you right?

I am sure it is up to the server...but even tho it is totally the number and you could get 12 quick service meals..they are only supposed to let you get 3 at a time.

But you could go back in line and get 3 more right? etc.

The DIS Restaurant Board does not permit discussion of ways to get around Disney's rule (which is clear in the Dining Plan literature) that you may not use your dining plan to purchase meals for persons who did not purchase the plan.
