I was wondering if MS will let you make 2 ressies for same time- one in 2BR and one in studio with the intention of cancelling one when plans are more definite. Or is this just wrong to do? I have people possibly going that won't know for sure for a while but I don't want to wait and not get a room at all.
If I can book both, I would cancel the un-needed room as soon as plans are more definite. I feel like it might be selfish to tie up 2 rooms but I don't know what else to do. Due to their government jobs, my friends can't always plan far in advance. Any input?? :confused3

Absolutely, you are only bound by the cancellation rules. There are a few that have a problem with this method but most find it ok since it's how the rules work.

Remember if you need to borrow points to make the ressie, you can not put them back, they stay in your current UY. So if you need to borrow for a portion of the ressie make sure the ressie you could possibly cancel be points that are current UY so you would have the opportunity to bank those pts into the next year. (assuming there's time)

You can reserve as many rooms as your points will stretch. People have reserved large numbers of rooms for family reunions.

As other posters have indicated this practice is allowed. There is nothing wrong with doing this. Further, it isn't selfish for you to use YOUR points the way you see fit.
