My sister & I are planning on a 12n/13d stay, with 7 nights at BWV & 5 nights at OKW. My sister is a DVC Member. We would like to purchase the deluxe dining plan for the 7 nights and the basic plan for 5 nights. If we do this will it cause the plans to overlap one another? We are confused as to how the Disney Dining Plan works when it is split up in a stay.

I don't know if this is the place to post this question if not please let me know.
We appreciate your input.
Thanks
From the 2 MT Minnies.:thanks:

The plans will overlap but you should be ok as long as you plan for it. The first plan will expire at midnight the night you leave the first resort. The next set will begin once you check in. So on the day you switch resorts you potentially could have credits from both depending on how many you have left from the first stay.

Credits are based on nights. So if you are staying 7 nights on deluxe you will have 21 credits each to use by midnight of the end of that stay.

You will have 5 credits to use on the other one by midnight on the last day of your trip.

Hope that helps!

It does and thanks for answering so promptly. :)

however, remember, that even though the credits overlap, the first reservation credits will be on the key from the first reservation and the second set of credits will be on that key. even though the credits are active on the same day, you may not be able to mix them ...but you could use one key to "pay for" lunch and one to "pay for supper"

the best part of being DVC is you can add the dining plan for a few days and not the entire stay, and no ticket purchase required :woohoo:

In May, we were 8 nights at OKW. went like this:

arrive fri night no DP
Sat - 2 nights DXDP
Mon - No DP
Thurs - 1 night DXDP

We did signature dinners each night of the DXDP and some other nice meals. The nights without dining plan were nore casual eating

I prefer appies to dessert and this plan allows me the best of both worlds:thumbsup2
