2 queen studios only at OKW?

Just wondering if OKW is the only DVC location with studios that contain 2 queen beds versus a bed and a sleeper sofa. If not, where else can you find them?

OKW is the only WDW DVC to have two queen beds in the studios.

HH and VB also have two beds in the studios, but they aren't at WDW.

Yea, they cheaped out after they built OKW. It also has the most square footage of all the DVC resorts, room-wise.

So what's the price breakdown on a sofabed vs. a regulation queen sized bed?

I always assumed the decision was made to give guests more versatility in their accommodation. I'm sure many guests perfer to have that extra living space plus a sofa during the day.

That's interesting, Doc. My original member guide book shows two beds in the studios at HH . I guess I assumed it was the same at VB, but now I see it isn't

We just returned from using an Inn Room at VB, and it does have the 2 queen beds. We really like the Inn Rooms. We haven't tried the studios because it just seems so nice to be inside the Inn and for the kids to have a queen size bed.

I wish HH had an 'Inn' with rooms like VB. It is so hard to get a studio at HH. Seems like you have to own there (we own at BCV) to get one. But we have been able to get Inn Rooms at VB for the last two summers without any problems.

BTW: We tried the studio at OKW for the first time on this trip and we now understand why so many people like them (especially those of us with 150 points or less trying to make the most of our points). They are very roomy. There are the two queen beds and then the Kitchenette area was right before the bathroom.

The balcony was small, but nice. DH and I enjoyed our morning out there while the kids got ready for the day. The only thing I wish was different was that the sink was in wih the tub and toilet. I have 2 girls who like to 'do their hair' and when the sink is outside of the toilet/tub area, that isn't a problem, but at OKW we had to keep kicking them out to use the bathroom.

The other thing we didn't like was the long trip to get to the main pool. DH drove because it was too far to walk. It wasn't that bad though since you can park right outside of you unit at OKW (which is very nice).

All in all, I can see us using these studios again. The only reason to use the other ones is for 'location'. I can't see any reason to use the ones at SSR because they have the sofa sleeper, and they are located in about the same spot as OKW (unless you like the sofa sleeper instead of the 2 queen beds).

It is quite easy to hop on any bus to get to the main pool, since they all stop at HH last. We usually prefer the smaller pools, but if the slide is your interest, then just hop the next availble bus. We have never found the distance too far unless we were at South Point.
