I could spend two weeks at disneyWORLD!

but disneyland is so much smaller

do you think me and my ADD husband will have ants in our pants if we stay at disney grand california for three nights?

should we just do two nights?

thanks!

:)

You should check out the Disneyland boards. They are very nice down there and there is lots of good info in stickies for you to check out.

In my opinion, if you can spend 2 weeks at WDW, you could easily spend 4-5 days at Disneyland Resort. There is a lot packed into a small space there. We usually like to spend 5-7 days in the parks at DLR but then we do like to do our favs every day.

No, you should be fine. Like mad hatter fan said there is quite a lot squeezed in that small space. Take note when the fireworks and when the Aladin show are as they are not shown every day. Both are worth seeing.

Hi,

There is not only disneyland but also the California Adventure park which has Soarin' and Tower of Terror.

Three night will also let you enjoy the Gand Californiam hotel ( I was on the Concierge level 2 years ago and it was great):)

Enjoy!

3 nights is better than 2, IMO. There's so much to see there, and so much that you'll want to see again, you won't be bored.

At Grand Californian you need to stay at least 5 nights.:cool1:

Seriously though three nights is the minimum in my opinion. More is preferred.

WDW takes longer because it's bigger and so many different parks. DL is two parks, connected. DL is so much more charming and you will love it! DO 3!

I agree with the other poster's 3 days is a minimum. The Grand Californian is wonderful. DCA is fun (you'll have your own park entrance with GC). Make sure to see WOC, it was awesome. As far as Disneyland goes, I Love it! The original and in my opinion you can feel that throughout the entire park. There is lots of great info here on the boards about DLR. It is not the overwhelming jammed packed experience that WDW is, but certainly is just as enjoyable. I think anyone who loves WDW should visit DLR at least once.

Enjoy your trip! :)

There is SOOOO much to do at DL besides rides, too. You can take a whole day just to do the shows (which is a lot of what we do on the weekends when the lines are longer). I would say 3 days is the minimum to spend there. We did 5 last time (of course we had 2 little ones with us) and still felt like it wasn't enough time.

Also agree wit previous posters, three is the minimum for me to really enjoy the parks and especially the GCH.

Have fun!

Another one here for more days than less :) The first time we went, we only stayed three days, and felt rushed. Last year, we went for 5 and had all the time we wanted to do everything. In most cases, we were able to ride all our favorites over and over :)

We bounce back and forth between the parks...lately we have been hitting DL in April or May and WDW in December. We LOVE all that DL has to offer and feel that the quality of the park and rides is a little higher there than WDW overall. We usually prefer the DL version of the ride (just us...your mileage may vary :goodvibes)

Any way, we usually do 7-10 days at WDW and 5 days at DL, and we have NEVER felt like we were done early. :thumbsup2

IMO three days at DLR feels roughly like seven days at WDW. Enough time to do a lot but you will definitely miss some things.

Now that DLR has World of Color, it is harder to fit DLR into three days. There are three major night time shows that are frankly all better than any of the WDW shows (IMHO):

1. World of Color
2. Fantasmic
3. Remember Dreams Come True (shows seasonally)

In addition, the Aladdin stage show is better than any of the WDW stage shows. It is hard to fit all the above into three days and still have time for rides and dining. When Cars Land is finished in 2012 then DLR will be a solid four day minimum resort - maybe fine days minimum.

OP, also note that the smaller DLR is jam packed with rides. The two parks at DLR have only 10% less rides than WDW's four parks. Once Cars Land is finished the ride count will be almost equal. :teacher:
