2 nights at the Poly-worth it?

We are currently booked at BC for the 3rd consecutive time for 7 nights. There are 6 of us: me, DH, MIL, DD6, DD4, DS2.

My first two nights are room-only, since free dining starts our 3rd day.

I am considering moving our 2 nights that are room only to the Poly, and turning it into a mini splitstay.

I want to see what all the obsession is about, we have only been to the Poly for dinner, but we can't give up the Beach Club...we are obsessed...

So, do you think it will turn into more of a hassle if we do our first 2 nights at Poly (I would also have to change around all of my ADRs)

Or is it worth it to get a glimpse of another resort?

Thanks for your input!!

For my family, it's definitely worth a split-stay. We like to check out new resorts we keep hearing about, but are reluctant to give up old favorites. We moved even back when our DD was 2 years old. But for you, with 3 kids, I can't say (just depends on if it's worth the hassle for you).

The only downside was that check out time was 11am and check in was 3pm and that meant that my DD would miss her nap. That may or may not be an issue for you and your family.

Still, we think it's worth the packing and unpacking because it's so much fun to see WDW from another resort and to experience what they all have to offer. Because it sounds like you already have 2 reservations anyway, this might be the ideal time to try it out. Who knows, you may end up loving the Poly?

Just my opinion.. I personally wouldn't do it not with kids that age that would need naps and I would feel like dragging them. However, if that would not be a problem moving to another resort for only after 2 days then by all means, experience a different resort. I would do it in a heart beat! My children are in their teens and it wouldn't be a problem at all for us. I'm for trying new resorts! I like splitting my stay. Good luck in your decision. If you do try the Poly, beware.. you may get hooked! :)

I wouldnt change resorts for just 2 nights unless I was going to spend the entire time enjoying the resort. Since BC is my least fave resort I would go to the Poly for a week

Can I ask why BC is your least favorite? We really couldn't afford to do Poly the entire trip, and we just love Stormalong Bay, Cape May Cafe, and the BC location.
Only DS2 takes a nap, and he can do that in a stroller. I was thinking we could check out of Poly, spend some time at MK, then come back to BC and swim while waiting for our room to be ready. The only hassle I could forsee is having to pack all our stuff up and having to change ADRs. Also, we are ordering groceries, so I don't know how we would even transport those?

I'm kind of with you...I'd probably do it. I have one less child but I would think most of the burden would be on you to pack up. It shouldn't affect the kids much especially if the 2 year old can sleep in the stroller. And I absolutely love the BC too. You can't beat the location and the pool...

I've added two nights on to our upcoming stay at a different resort that I've always wanted to try out, so it seems perfectly reasonable to me! You can get a taste of a new resort, and take advantage of the different transportation advantages at each place.

I've read that strategic packing helps - like a smaller suitcase dedicated to the shorter resort stay and the use of packing cubes to make unpacking and re-packing easier.

Have a great trip, whatever you decide!
