R we crazy if we do this??? One stroller for each kid since I hate  :headache: my double stroller! That means each of us will be pushing but it could be nice since we have ds3 who will be busy riding most rides and dd9 months who will take naps. Anyone else done this in the parks???

When we just had two kids we always brought two strollers. You don't want to push a stroller you hate on vacation!

I'm taking 2 single cheap umbrella type strollers...
They don't count as checked luggage.
If my kids surprise me as to the amount of walking they are willing to do, I'll fold the strollers up and leave them somewhere in the stroller parking area for a while.
I just don't want to deal with whining ("my feet HURT") or end up carrying a 40 pounder around the parks.

That is what we are planning to do but we have 3 kids, the 6 yr old will walk and the 3 and 1 yr old will ride. The only pain I can see is if just the 6 yr old and one parent want to stay later and the other goes back. I guess they would have to go back with just one stroller. I don't know if we would even do that but it's an option. I thought of bringing 2 umbrella strollers and a clip to connect them but they don't seem as comfortable.

We have done it, and only brought the second stroller for a long day or when we go back in the evening. We also have a double and what a nightmare on the bus.

Our kids were 9, 4, and almost 2 on our trip and we used two strollers. It worked out very well for us and we had no problems. We bought stroller clips in BabiesRUs so we could clip the two strollers together if we needed to split up. (We had two Volos, so they clipped together easily). I found it very difficult to push clipped together (DH didn't think it was that bad), but the only times we split up were when the two little ones were too short for a certain ride. (Our 4 year old was 40", so usually one of us just took the baby and parked the second stroller.)

Sarahbug- Even with a much older child we were all able to stay together in the parks. (We used fastpass and rider switch for any rides the little ones couldn't do, so they only waited a few minutes for us to do them. Occasionally one of us would take them on a nearby attraction with a short line.) If we wanted to give her extra time we all went back to the resort so DH didn't have to deal with two strollers on the bus. One night she and I went out for a mother-daughter night in the MK (a highlight of the trip) and another afternoon I took the two older kids to Epcot. Both times DH stayed with the younger one(s), went swimming, ate, and slept.

We have tried many things but the best was bringing two separate umbrella strollers. Sometimes a child may want to do a ride and you may want to take the sleeping child somewhere else in the park for a little shopping in the stores and then you will only have to use one. If the kids are really tired you can always rent a double at the park when the need arises. That worked perfectly for us.

We also debated which to bring- our double or two single strollers (for ages 2 & 1). We decided on two singles and it worked out great. I agree with PP that said two are easier on the bus to handle. Since my children are so young, we did have to have a "system" to get on the bus with kids and strollers. Our 2yr old walked on bus, I carried 1 yr old and DH carried on both strollers. Most passengers and even the drivers often helped my DH.

I think it was also easier to get thru crowds, dining areas etc....in the parks too.

We brought both of our Maclaren's last May they fold up so easy and small and they have a carring strap so its perfect to close up and get on the bus. I also think its much easier to manuver around in the crowds with two umbrella strollers.

We brought two Chicco umbrella strollers this December for our trip and it worked out well for us. They are super light, lime green, and have a carrying case and strap. We also had stroller clips that we used when we parked the strollers so they wouldn't get separated when we were on a ride/attraction.

I wish we used the clips more often because it was trickey manuvering a few meals where DH went to get food (like at Pecos Bill's) and I was left standing w/two strollers. I looked silly trying to get those strollers to a table by myself! I'd push one two feet, the other two feet...

We have a Combi Twin Savvy and I saw many people using those in the parks as their double. I think next time I'll bring the double and give that a try.

i've done it it was okay but i did figure out that if you bring a nice single umbrella with a decent basket and a cheapy babies rus 10 dollar one. you can fold the cheapy and stick it in the basket of the nice one. it worked well when ds4 wanted to walk. last trip i rented the city mini double jogger from orlando stroller rentals what a dream i loved it. next trip i will kick my then 6 year old out of stroller make him walk and either bring a single umbrella or pay to rent a disney one for my 3 1/2 year old ( gulp... the price kills me)

My DD has a huge double jogger. She just decided to go with two cheap umbrellas, and clip them when needed. Umbrellas are so much easier, and if it's stolen, no big deal.

The problem with umbrella strollers is no storage. We're debating between taking one of those double strollers where the rear child can sit or stand or taking 2 Combi strollers.

The double stroller is smaller than most double strollers and has storage.

The Combi was the smallest stroller we could find a few years ago that has storage underneath. As long as the child is in the stroller, you can also put a light bag around the handle.

To me, storage is very important. You can take the diaper bag, drinks, store the camera, etc.

We took two strollers for then DD3 and DS10mths. We gate checked them on the plane and took them on the buses (but that was a whole other story:headache: )

They were a life saver!!

We actually have 3 kids now so we are just bringing 1 stroller for the baby and renting a double stroller from a swap down at Disney.

We take 3 young children :dance3: and a single umbrella stroller and a double umbrella stroller (Jeep all weather umbrella stroller). It works out good for us. As soon as my oldest is ready to walk all day we will only take the double umbrella - about one more year.

We brought two Chicco umbrella strollers this December for our trip and it worked out well for us. They are super light, lime green, and have a carrying case and strap.

We have this stroller in orange and love it. It has been on 2 big vacations with us and heading on a 3rd soon. We also take a double Jeep All Weather umbrella stroller for our other 2 kids - 3 little ones. They are all light and work out great.

Have a great trip.

We have a just turned 5 year old and 2.5 year old. We are taking our single combi stroller (folds easily and has a basket on bottom) and a umbrella stroller with us. We debated taking the double Jeep stroller we have, but decided that navigating it through airports, on the buses, and through the crowds would be a bigger pain than having 2 strollers.
I also thought that if the 5 year old wanted to walk, we could just leave the umbrella stroller somewhere to pick up later, or stick it in the basket of the combi stroller.

I just couldn't pay the cost of renting a double at Disney - although we did rent one 3 years ago when we had a 5 and 2 year old with us and they were very easy to push.

We took along two strollers on our last trip in December and while it was a pain at times it would have been worse to have to carry one of them around when they were tired of walking. We have two Maclarens which fold easily and compactly and have handles. They are light as well. I saw some people struggling with the doubles to get them on the buses etc. The sit and stands are even worse. Just take along two light umbrellas is my advice, but it really is whatever works best for your families needs.

When our kids were young, we always took 2 seperate strollers. First, if you want to slpit up (one kid with mom and one kid with dad) you can, and you may very well want to do that. Also, it was so much easier to fold them up over our double (which was the umbrella type, but still annoying.) Once we did take the double, we made it, but never again. At the time the girls were 10 months and 3, so i can relate...

I have a number of plans in my head. LOL.

My son will be 5 and truthfully the kid NEVER sits down. He's made it entire days at other parks. So that option is take our single stroller (just made a deal on CL for a baby jogger city series) only.

I have an umbrella we could bring along and if needed go to the car to get (staying offsite). I would probably put my son in the jogger for a break and the 2 year old in the umbrella.

I also have an Ergo baby carrier that I might bring and not bring the umbrella at all. My almost 2 year old doesn't even weigh 21 lbs yet so I could Ergo her in the event my son needs a break.

Regardless the baby jogger is coming. I can NOT deal with the lack of storage an umbrella stroller provides and I am not carrying all that stuff on me. I'm just not a fanny pack kinda woman. :lmao:
