Here are my tips that get us in out within and sometimes under 90 minutes:

12. If you have children, BRING them!!!! Children especially impatient ones (that includes about 99.9% of them)!!!! Let them cry, encourage temper tantrums, and most importantly let the toddler future track star (you know the one that keeps running away from ya) Let them do their thing!!!! 99% of timeshare let you bring your children (they are usually on vacation in orlando right) so they provide a place for them to play. Don't let them go!!! Let them bug the heck out of you, and the presenter. It rushes the presentation - Trust me!!!! :bitelip:

OK, we got a great deal to stay at the Marriott Grande Vista. In the papers we received, it says that children are not allowed and can stay in the "daycare center". I really don't want to do that. So are you saying that even though they say that my DD cannot attend the presentation, that we can bring her anyway?

Thanks,

Reneé

You will not need the children at Marriott. They are more "upscale" and have lots of class in the timesharing business, so the high pressure is not usually done via Marriott. Its companies like Westgate, and a few other that are more pushy in the sales department. Larger chains like Marriott, Starwood, and most Fairfields are great presentations, sometimes fun, and most importantly they are okay when you say no. (Hint: They are usually a whole lot more than the smaller chains too!!!) For example at Westgate (and others) you can get a really nice 2 bedroom for about $8000 - a prime week too (maybe a little more for every year). At Marriott they are asking somewhere around $22,000 - for that same week. So they can take no for an answer - smaller chains act like they are on serious commissions!!!!

Just wanted to provide an update...

Last week I found the office with little difficulty. I arrived at approximately 10am with my 7 yo dd. I approached the counter with my voucher print out and was immediately given a paper to fill out. When it asked how many people were touring I said, "I am not here for a tour". She gave me a print out voucher and I took four steps across the room to the woman in charge of tickets.

I was given two vouchers good for Universal Studios for 2 consecutive days.

I was out of there within 10 minutes!

RobinMarie

what did it say on your voucher......"invited to attend"?

did you use the tickets yet

i did make sure they were valid but did not ask if they were good for only Universal or if they could also be used for Islands of Adventure

thanks for your feed back....

was the desk attendant upset when you said you were not touring??

she was a bit put out when i decline the invite.....

Yes it did say 'invited to attend'

I did have my 7 yo dd with me. I find when I accept an invitation to tour a resort they don't push me as much as when I attend with a partner. When I was married they seemed to put the pressure on, now that I am not legally married I sometimes attend them alone or with my daughter. I am convinced this is why I no longer feel such pressure. I make sure I fit the requirements before I attend.

It says on the tickets that it is good for Universal Studios ONLY. I did not use the tickets yet. They also say they expire one year from issue. I've read that isn't always the case though.

The desk attendent was pretty void of emotion with me. She just printed the vouchers immediately.

It was pretty simple.

robinmarie

i did check the tickets at the guest relations windows at universal studios the night i got them since we were going there anyways to have supper at nascar...

the attendant there told me they do not expire, but once used the second day must be consecutive....

i forgot to ask if they were good for Islands of Adventure

will see when we go in september..

Any more updates? We were just down at WDW but couldn't get to Universal, we forgot the confirmation papers anyway though. Maybe a winter trip is in the future?

I was stupid and called the travel place up and said that I would like these tickets but only have a limited time down there when I am in florida and would not be able to to attend the seminar or whatever it was. She then said that I would not be able to get the tickets, I went as high up as the manager and got in several agruments with these people saying that the original advertisment said if you fill out the survey you will get 2 free tickets to US and no where on there did it say that I had to attend anything until after I gave them all my personal information in filling out the survey. All they did was apologize , I even sent them the site that we filled out the survey for and they didnt care. So I wasn't taking the chance.

Has anyone found out if these tickets are good at IOA or if you can upgrade them to passes that are good at IOA? I am planning to doing this in a week for my first trip to Universal, IOA. Thanks alot

Jeremy

I got back last week from my solo trip. I was able to get 1 two consecutive Universal studios ticket and 1 two consecutive IOA ticket. I asked about upgrading them to Park hopper tickets and it was going to be $47 a piece (I assume for 2 day plus 1 free I didn't ask). I decided that was to much.

well i did it. I got a feeling it is a timeshare also. how did you all make out with this?

Yes, it is a timeshare. The biggest thing is what it says on your printout. Mine said I would be "Invited to attend a presentation" instead of "Required to attend a presentation". I don't know if it is differences in state law or not. I wasn't even asked to take the tour. I did need to fill out the pre-tour application. They may have seen my income bracket and decided it wasn't worth even asking. I was in and out in less than 10 min. The lady on the right gave me a voucher that I turned in to the lady on the left for real tickets.

So your tellilng me i should of lied about our income. LOL

I am happy for you.
