2 free tickets for survery is this for real?

if you read the vouchers carefully, it does not say you have to take a timeshare tour...[/url]

I hate to be negative here, but if you think someone is giving you those tickets for nothing and you not have to attend a timeshare you are going to be extremely upset during your vacation. Trust me - No timeshare means no tickets. There is even a clearance you have to have before they "give" you anything. Whenever you have to be qualified for anything (age, if married spouse must come - this should raise a flag. Going there raising cain will not get those tickets either. Their tickets their language and most importantly - THEIR INTERPRETATION!!!!

at least my voucher does not say "attend"

and it is not going to get us bent out of shape if we do not get them

will just point out to them what their advertisement said and it did say "complimentary" in the survey "come on"

all i was saying....according to my voucher it says.....invited to schedule ( was just musing if we did not accept the invitation )

this seems like "deceptive" advertising

will see what happens tomorrow, we have some time to kill before we can get into our "weekend" getaway digs

d4est

agree with what you are saying there

it will all depend on what the meaning of ....... ( we need a word parser ....smilawgs )

I sent a pretty harsh email to Universal saying how rudely I was treated by the person who called me about this "promo".

I sent it 6 days ago and no answer back...I guess the truth hurts.

Has anyone else contacted Universal about this?

just wondering...:wave2:

I haven't answered my phone yet but these people have called my house more times then I can count. They have called early in the morning, late in the evening both week days and weekends. I haven't answered my phone when they called because I wrote to them asking them to respond to me via email and ask me whatever is it they need to ask or talk about b/c I cant be reachable by phone. So the women write me back giving me there number so I can call them. (apparently she didn't listen) I don't want to talk to anyone unless I know this is legit. And from the sounds of it they are not. Can anyone confirm if this worked for them or if this is real?

check the above posts..lawgs has done some research into the company. My guess is it is legit.

It just depends on whether or not you want to sit thru a timeshare presentation. My husband & I did our first in Feb and thought it was well worth our time. We only had to purchase a Seaworld ticket for our son since we got ours for free as "payment" for sitting thru the sales pitch. (This was for a Marriott timeshare so it was low pressure) To me, if you have 90 min to spare the SAVINGS are well worth it. I don't know about anyone else, but my job doesn't pay me 66$/hour!!

All a matter of preference, frugality, cheapness...whatever you want to call it...but I'll save a buck where I can...

hello we are back

this is what i posted to a similar question about the tickets on the canadian board

you can pick them up "upon arrival" at Vacation Village at Fantasyworld II which is close to the 535/192 intersection ( one street over )

well, much to the person's chagrin that i met on friday, ( she said i had to take a 90 minute tour to receive the tickets that were suppost to be free for filling out the "online survey" ), i told her that acording to my email we could pick the tickets up "upon arrival" and that nowhere did it say ( original survey, email or voucher print out ) we had to take a 90 minute tour, only that we would be invited to schedule a "tour", and that if i was invited i would decline the invitation

( i did notice that she "scrawled" on my internet voucher......."refused to tour" )

she sighed, did some magic with her fingers on the computer and a few seconds later i had a "printed voucher" with the Etour logo on it in hand which she said i had to take across the foyer to "redeem" ( this voucher did have an expiry date on it of 07/04/04 )

we did get two Star passes good for two consecutive days at Universal when we redeemed the "voucher"

not wanting to leave anything to chance and since we were going to universal city walk to have supper at Nascar, we did a side trip to guest relations at Universal Studios ( not Islands of Adventure )

we asked them how long the tickets were valid for, he scanned one and said there were by default ( computer thingy ) good until 2030 and even then if not used by then could be updated to the NEW expiry date when the computer was "rolled"

once they are used, they must be used on two consecutive days

one thing i did not ask of guest relations was whether or not they were good for "either" park or limited strictly to Universal Studios

Looking closely at the ticket now

the front says "Destination Universal"

the back says a lot, but the key things are:

2 consecutive days only
Fantasy Villa
Star-Valid at Universal Studios

the voucher print out i took with me had this in it:

Each Star Ticket provides:

Two Days at Universal Studios Theme Park*
Two Citywalk Passes**

*Good for two (2) consecutive days at one park from first day of use

** Movie ticket not included

so it looks like it might be acceptable at Islands of Adventure too
and that was the impression i got from the salesperson too, that the Star ticket they were providing could be used at either NOT both parks for two consecutive days and i guess the CityWalk pass must be encoded into the "lil black bar" somehow, since there was no mention about Citywalk on the actual Ticket we got

so YES, you get two free tickets but that was not their intention, their real intention was to "have" you tour their timeshare location and perhaps BUY from them before getting the tickets

but in this case, the language on the voucher i got at least, left some "wiggle" room ( other's language say they have to attend the presentation before receiving the tickets )

is the promotion devious, YES since the language used is vague on the "survey" just a mention of a thank you for doing the survey being two free tickets...nothing about the necessity for a timeshare tour

even the email language did not mention "timeshare"

we were lucky since we got the "invite" language on our voucher

best of luck to others on this, but they may change the rules by the time you get there

dang this gets more interesting

just checked the original offer and it says in it body of text

"To thank you, we're offering a limited promotion of two (2) free tickets to Universal Studios®! Each ticket is good for one day adult admission to Universal Studios Florida® in Orlando. Your tickets are valid for 12 months, with no black-out dates, and have a $100 retail value. "

so here it says it is only valid for twelve months and retails out at $100 for each ticket but on my Etour voucher it listed the cost as 274$ for the two tickets

guest relations definately told me they did not expire, but once they were used were good for two days only...go figure

anyhow, at this time i would like to thank the original poster for pointing this "offer" out to us

it was worth filling the survey out for us

Thanks Lawgs for checking this out for us. I think I will have to do a timeshare since my voucher says "after" timeshare presentation I get my tickets.

I had to post because my counter just rolled over to double digits!!!
WOO HOO!!:bounce:

I am sure that it has something to do with Westgate Resorts, Star tickets are only good for 2 consecutive days at Universal Studios NOT IOA.

Sorry if this has already been answered but I just got back from vacation and needed to put in my 2 cents before I read the rest of the post.

I've got my pin number, but when I go to the etours website, it comes up in Chinese or something. Can anybody direct me to the correct link to put in my pin and get my tickets?

Thanks a bunch.

Sheila

Cebhfhionn

it is not Westgate but Vacation Village at Fantasyworld II run by Kosmas Group International ...the come on from the person who called us said that the Star ticket was good at either park along with implied FOTL access ( which we know was probably not TRUE )

The internet voucher is "vague" but could be interpreted to include both parks, although what you say is probably true, that it is good for UNiversal Studios only

swilshire

try this url

www.etourandtravel.com/tickets

Did any of you actually call them? Is that how you get the voucher? I'm a little confused. I filled out the survey, and since they have been non stop calling my house (leaving no messages) but they are on my caller id at least 3-4 times a day. Do I call them back ?

in order to be able to print out the internet voucher from etour and travel, you need to have a "pin #" which is given to you by the sales rep

that along with your email address used in the survey is then entered on

www.etourandtravel.com/tickets

which then puts you onto a page you can print out and take to florida to Vacation Village at Fantasyworld II
if you get an email from them, the pin number is the first seven digits after the "L" at the bottom of the page ( the place where it says if you wish to be removed, click on this url )

lawgs,

Thanks for the URL. I had tried it earlier (saw it in an earlier post) and got an error. Worked this time, though.

Sheila

Hi everyone! I too did this survey. I declined politely on the phone and my voucher says:

This voucher entitles the above to two (2) star tickets...

Each star ticket provides:

Two days at Universal Studios Theme Park
Two City Walk Passes
Priority seating 15 minutes in advance at the following shows:
Beetlejuice...
...Wild West Stunt Show...
A day in the park with barney

Mine says I will be invited to schedule a 90 minute presentation...

I'll just politely decline the timeshare presentation, but like the poster above, I won't leave without my two free tickets, each good for two days at Universal. I normally would never expect something for nothing, but the Florida statutes regarding timeshares and free gifts are pretty specific about disclosure. I think this company is counting on most people doing the timeshare when regardless of what your voucher says, you don't have to because the survey does not mention it.

Ok I got the original email that at the bottom has a section if I want to unsubscribe so I too the first 7 digits after the L along with my email address and went to the link you guys posted above and it came back that there is no records found with my email address or pin #. Am I doing something wrong? Was I supposed to call them also?

dunno if you were suppost to call or if they have to talk to you to "authenticate" your pin #

i just noticed that the seven digits after the L were the same as the pin Number i was given and used to login into the voucher screen

i can still log on using that screen even though we have "presented" the voucher for "redemption" upon arrival

sammy 66

that "invite to schedule" language is not on everyone's voucher, my thinking is that depending on the state or province a person is from , they have to modify the language in order to offer the tour

we just declined the "invite" and were on our way ....but she did write on the voucher we presented to her "refused to tour"

Has anyone gone recently to pick up their tickets? Did they give you a problem about not going on a tour?
