2 For The Price of 1: One Trip Done; One More to Plan!

Hey Cammie,
I've finally caught up on your last TR and this pre-trippie. I hope you and Lauren have a fantastic time next week!!!! I'm sure you will. Your plan sounds great. I love the chocolate covered strawberry idea!

I have fantastic news.....

I just booked another trip for DH and I for 2/25-3/2. I know, we were just there a few weeks ago, but I love it. What can I say?

I haven't entered the realm of trip reports yet, so I'm going to hijack yours for a moment..... (hope you don't mind!)

DH and I got back from the World on 1/26. We bought APs this trip so we have park tickets for our September (free dining!) and January 2010 (half marathon!) trips. It just so happens, that our flight home on 1/26 was oversold. I of course had to give up our seats to let some poor family on..... ;) Delta gave DH and I both $400 vouchers for travel! :cool1: :cool1: So we decided to go in the spring for a quick trip. (I originally sold him on the idea of a weekend trip.... but the flights were better if we stayed for 5 nights... what was I supposed to do? :confused3 ) We used one of the travel vouchers for flights ($168 r/t from BOS - nonstop!!) and we'll have those APs for the parks. For the first time we will be staying off property. We didn't want too spend much, so we booked the Comfort Inn for $32/night including breakfast. I also rented us a car through Delta for $190. Our trip is only costing us around $400! Since we've always stayed on property (and I mean really stayed.... we've never left Disney property for even a meal. We take the ME straight there and straight back.) I'm pretty excited about checking out some of the local shopping and attractions. We'll also be able to save some money by eating dinner at one of the thousands of Orlando restaurants. Eeek!!! We're leaving in just over 2 weeks. Hurray!!!! I'm super excited!:cutie:

It's too bad our trips won't overlap. I can't wait to read about Lauren's birthday trip! Don't forget to try the Grand Marnier (sp?) slush in France (in addition to the Lemon, of course! ;) )Have a wonderful time and tell the Mouse I'll see him soon!!:thumbsup2

Ha!Ha! That's ok - hijack away!:goodvibes

CONGRATS on another trip!!!!!:yay: Having those APs certainly helps to justify fitting in more trips doesn't it?

Great deal with the airfare also. Have to tell you - I booked our annual trip for Dec.; looked at the airfares - rt.non-stop on Delta was @$360/ticket back in January. I told myself there was no way I could afford to purchase the tix yet and would just wait and see. Well, I'm registered with YAPTA - they notify you when airfare drops - I got a notice that the price dropped to $206/ticket!!!!:woohoo: I haven't gotten rt/non-stop tix to Orlando for under $250 in YEARS! So of course I jumped on that deal. Now I just have to decide if I should renew my APs when they expire in June. Decisions. Decisions.

What decision that has been decided though - I WILL order the Grand Marnier Slushie this trip. One of my must-tries along with Norwary's school bread. Watch for my TR when I get back to hear all about it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for warmer weather! I don't care if it's not real warm; I just don't want to have to wear coats. I've never done that before in WDW - would just be too weird!

Hi Cammie! If this makes you feel any better, it's in the high 60's and low 70's all week here in GA-and it's always a little warmer at Disney! I don't know about swimming, but you shouldn't have to wear coats.
Thanks for the update! Being from the Northeast, 60s-70s weather sounds just fine for me! I'll be wearing my flip-flops and capris with that kind of weather!:thumbsup2

What ever ended up being planned with the cake?

LESS THAN A WEEK NOW!!!! :yay:

Hi Cammie, I hope you an Lauren have a wonderfully special 13th Birthday Trip ...my next is at the end of March an going to Las Vegas at the end of this month to see the Criss Angel show....its kind of an illusionist show an should be wildly entertaining....lol

What is with the people in the back.

the people behind you look bored. :rotfl:

one week!!!!! :cool1:

Sour pusses, they were!:lmao:

Amanda's tray is so multifunctional: drink and snack holder AND Autograph book!! That is the coolest thing!!:cool1: :cool1:

I have loved your trip report and after reading some others today, I am going to applaud you on your writing skills. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear more about the trip with Lauren!!:goodvibes

Yep - Amanda's tray is multi-functional!;)

Just finished your trip report and enjoyed it so very much! Your daughters, nieces and nephews are adorable!
I love Amandas tray. What a great idea and keepsake! (Handy too!) Thanks for the tip about dinner and illuminations. Are you able to see the illuminations fireworks from any of the other countries restaurants? Off to read your pre-trip report now! What an awesome 13th birthday celebration!
I will tell you that we have yet to visit our DVC homes (our first trip "home" is in May), but I now have addonitis for BWV, thank you very much...lol!

Thanks for reading. The Boardwalk needs to be experienced at least once!

I think it's awesome that Mickey signed Amanda's tray. Very cute!! :thumbsup2

I know! But now we need to make sure no stickers are put over it!

I love how you pose for your TT pictures! My family does that too! :rotfl2:

On our last ride, we all pretended to check our watches. We're goobers. :rotfl:

That's so awesome that Mickey signed Amanda's tray! It's like a free souvenir!

Mmm, pretzel! :hyper:

My TR day one is finished, just have to add the pictures and post! :)

Only 6 more days! Does Lauren know about the trip yet?

I LIKE that pose! We may have to "borrow" it!

And, yes, Lauren knows about the trip; I couldn't keep my big mouth shut!

Thanks for reading everybody! Doesn't look like I'll get any photopass pix up before Lauren and I leave on Sunday. Amanda has been sick on and off this past week and I'm seriously behind in my DIS'ing. I hope to catch up on other's TRs and update my own pre-tr for this upcoming trip though. Follow the link in my siggie for all the latest and I'll be sure to post the new link for my new tr when we get back!

How fun Mickey autographed Amanda's tray!!! :cool1: I love the illumination pics - but I still didn't see the answer to my question - maybe I missed it - can you see part of illuminations from boardwalk? I know answering my question is the first thing on your list - not packing, getting Amanda settled, checking all your ADRs, etc. etc. :rotfl:

Heyyy coming over here really late apparently, idk how I missed your PTR here when I've been at your TR most of the time you've been writing it! lol I hope you guys are having a great time and can't wait to hear about it when you get back :goodvibes

Hey! I was just listening to the podcast and they were saying the weather is going to be in the 70's low 80's until NEXT weekend- lucky you! (And all my other friends who are going/in WDW!!). HAve a great time- and make sure you send a pic of that slushie- that's a definite for my next trip, too!!

Ellen

ps- What's YAPTA?

Yes, Tammie - I answered your question; back on my post for Thurs. Brief summary: from our room, which faced the front of the BW, I could still see some fireworks and fainlty hear the music. I've had a BW view room though in the past, and you can see Illuminations perfectly from the BW!

Hi Cammie! I hope you and Lauren have an AWESOME trip!

Thanks for the good wishes guys! Lauren and I are VERY excited and can't believe that, two days from now we'll be enjoying extra-magic hours at Magic Kingdom!:goodvibes

ps- What's YAPTA?

The weather is looking good; but it looks like high 40s, low 50s at night. I'm not used to this weather. No flipflops then?

And Yapta? Go to yatpta.com; put in the flights you're interested in and they'll keep track and email you of a price drop. Of course, I heard about this site from a fellow DISer - lurkyloo. Worked for me with our Dec. trip!

What ever ended up being planned with the cake?

LESS THAN A WEEK NOW!!!! :yay:
OK - so here's the latest with the birthday cake for Lauren. Called the cake hotline and talked to two different people about ordering a cake - one person for the Yacht Club; one person for LeCellier. I don't know if because Disney is now pushing the birthday celebrations this year, but they really have a generic policy. Basically, a simple 6inch cake that just says "Happy Birthday" could be ordered at any restaurant for @$24. If I wanted a cake that was personalized or had any Disney character, it was more expensive. I had seen pix of the mini-castle cake that looked cute on the cake thread but both CMs I talked to told me that cake is usually for weddings and if I wanted a smaller version it would still be a 10inch cake for @$40! So I've decided to scratch the cake. Lauren is not a real cake eater anyway and with it being just the two of us, figure it would be a waste. I'm going to order the choc.covered strawberries for our room at the BW though - I KNOW she likes those!

I will definitely be back tomorrow with one more post before we go, filling you in on our final plans. Thanks for sticking with me everyone!

Wow, only two days to go!!! I bet Lauren is beside herself!! I was just wondering, when you tried to order the castle topped cake did you happen to ask about the cupcake sized one? It is like the mini cakes, so would probably be just the right size for the two of you to finish. I am not sure how much they are, but I think with the white chocolate topper it is $25.
Have a wonderful time and I'm looking forward to your trip report!!:woohoo:

You know, I kept asking about the "mini-cake w/the castle topper" and they said they didn't have that. I think I'll call tomorrow and ask about the cupcake size; I wouldn't mind springing for that! Thanks for the tip! I'll let you know what I hear.

Hi, I am a lurker on your trip reports (they are great!!) and finally have to post because I think I have some information for you :goodvibes I think I remember that the mini-cake is only available at the GF restaurants and perhaps the castle. I was thinking about that for our last trip. So this might be why the Yacht Club and Le Cellier did not tell you about it. Also it seems from the cake thread that Boardwalk and GF bakery are the two best places to get custom cakes from. But in my opinion, chocolate covered strawberries are better than a cake!

love love loved your TR!
you seem like such a great mom!
the pictures were great!
i can't wait to hear more on future trips!

Have a great trip tomorrow with you and your daughter!!! You guys will have the best time I am just sure of it!!!!!

LOVE the autograph!!!:lovestruc And really- I have never seen people looking like that on a ride!! They're in DISNEY!! Get happy!!!

Can't believe you're going tomorrow!!!!

Ahh! I have to check in before you leave!

Best wishes on your trip! Have a wonderful time! You HAVE to ride Rockin Roller Coaster! It's the most amazing ride ever! My new favorite! You can't tell you're going upside down. At the take off, they count down from 5. It's worth a try.

Birthday hugs to Lauren!

As Pooh would say, "Wish on all the birthday candles, because you never know which one's the wishiest." pooh:

:bday: Have a fantastic trip! :grouphug:
