I am meeting my best friend from high school for a long weekend to celebrate both of us turning 50 this year. We arrive on Thurs. night and plan on doing a park on Fri and Sunday. But I can't decide which ones!

I have been to DW with my family...dh and three teens every year for many years, but this is my friends first time.

She is a total movie buff who has always loved anything Hollywood.

We were planning on MK and Epcot, but now I am thinking she may like HS better than one of them. Can't decide!

It is also Halloween weekend so MNSSHP is going on that Sat. and Food and Wine...which I love is going on at Epcot.....both of which mean big crowds.

Planning MK on Fri because it is the only night they are doing parade and wishes.

What would you do? Drop one and go to HS instead. Is there even enough there for a full day? We were at Dw in April but skipped HS this time. Haven't been there for two years.

Help me decide please.

If you plan on seeing all of the shows and the street performers at DHS then you could make it a full day park. If your friend has never been to DHS then you could make it a full day park. Check the crowd calenders also for that day to see what the prediction for DHS is. If it's low then you could possibly be able to ride the main attractions multiple times with minimal wait.s
I would probably do Animal Kingdom or EPCOT over DHS right now, but that's just me.

I assume you meant you were doing parks on Friday and Saturday (not Sunday) since you mention Saturday later in the post. Also at Epcot, Saturday Oct 31 is the same evening as the special Yelloween Masquerade (PFTS) Party.

With your friend's first time to WDW, MK is a must. Can't avoid it. If you really want to plan a full day - and do Wishes - I think it would have to be Friday.

As for Saturday, tough call. It'll be crazy busy at Epcot, but F&W could be really fun and Illuminations would round out a hectic day. HS might be having EMH that night (or is it Sunday?), so they may be busier than usual but should really be very manageable by the late afternoon/early evening due to folks with hoppers going over to either MNNSHP or (to a lesser extent) F&W and/or Yelloween, and they have Fantasmic. For a movie buff, and this being their first time, there just may be enough to interest her at HS to fill up an entire day. Epcot F&W on a Saturday after a full MK the previous day may be too much for a first timer.

I would suggest talking it over with you friend - is there enough at HS that would interest her for a full day? I might consider park hopping on day 2 - Epcot early and HS later.

Thanks! I am thinking along the same lines. O think we will stick with MK on Fri. and Epcot on Sun.
