2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

All sorts of changes, eh? :rotfl: When are you gonna share with us what you have done?

I think date night will be awesome!

Just remember you asked for this....:rotfl:

Touring Changes...

Dec 29th
Before: 1/2 day at USO, then 1/2 day at DHS (F! & Osborne Lights)
After: All day at USO/IOA...take it easy before hitting WDW hard and get ready to change resorts. I am also going to save $$$ since we will not have to have car service to DHS...thinking of taking that money and hire a car service instead of ME on the 7th

Jan 3rd
Before: MK Day 2
After: DHS Day 1 (F! and Osborne Lights)-This is the last night of the lights...the crowd levels have dropped to 3.2 this day at DHS so I figure we can do F! without the dining package...to be honest Mama Melrose was not doing it for me in the first place and I was fearing a 9.7 level crowd even if all I really planned to get done was F! and Osborne on Dec. 29th.

Jan 5th
Before: DHS Day 2
After: MK Day 2-While the crowd levels are a little lower than on the 3rd like I had planned and there EMH in the morning I still think this will be a better choice for the day and with Ridemax telling me what to do...I think we will be fine

Jan 6th
Before: ???/Move to POP
After: DHS 2-Again the crowd levels are slightly higher than Day 2 Before at DHS I think this will be better...it allows for us not to have to go at full speed every day and enjoy...also we can switch resorts in the afternoon and explore POP

Just a thought, but can you get pizza at the hotel instead of bringing it back from DHS? Or, I bet you could even call a local delivery place.

Sunday's Trivia Question:
What was the first Disney Full Length Animated Feature that used the wide screen process of Cinema Scope? What the heck is Cinema Scope?

In 1953, Disney had immediately started work on the first widescreen animated feature, the CinemaScope version of "Lady and the Tramp," which finally was finished in 1955.

CinemaScope was an anamorphic lens series used for shooting wide screen movies from 1953 to 1967. Its creation in 1953, by the president of 20th Century-Fox, marked the beginning of the modern anamorphic format in both principal photography and movie projection.

The anamorphic lenses theoretically allowed the process to create an image of up to a 2.66:1 aspect ratio, almost twice as wide as the previously ubiquitous Academy format's 1.37:1 ratio. Although the CinemaScope lens system was quickly made obsolete by new technological developments, primarily advanced by Panavision, the anamorphic format has continued to this day. In film-industry jargon, the shortened form, 'Scope, is still widely used by both filmmakers and projectionists, although today it generally refers to any 2.35:1 or 2.39:1 presentation or, sometimes, the use of anamorphic lensing or projection in particular. Bausch & Lomb won a 1954 Oscar for its development of the CinemaScope lens.

n 1954, more than 40 films were released in CinemaScope. Some were marvelous films, among them Fox's all-black "Carmen Jones" with Dorothy Dandridge, Harry Belafonte and Pearl Bailey and "River of No Return" with Robert Mitchum, Rory Calhoun and Marilyn Monroe; Warner Bros.' "The High and the Mighty" with John Wayne and "A Star is Born" with Judy Garland; MGM's "Bad Day at Black Rock" with Spencer Tracy, "Brigadoon" with Gene Kelly and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" with Jane Powell, and Disney's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."

Question-1.gif

A question that I want input on...
Do you think it would be okay to order the kids a pizza one night and have Ab (who will be close to 15) babysit her brothers in the villa while dh have dinner together across the way at the Yachtsman? We gave no problems doing this at home, but it bothers me at disney. What are your thoughts?

I think they would be fine at their age. As long as the rule is no one leaves the room. If you make sure the Pizza is there before y'all leave. If your comfortable enough to leave them at home, it should be the same. As seen with the robberies recently with Monknmom, even your home is at a risk these days. You could always do one of the resort sitters. As thorough as Disney is with everything, I'm sure they run full on background checks on EVERYONE they hire from CM's, to cooks, to the in room sitters.

Do the boys generally mind her at home? Then I think it would be ok. Make sure they have a movie to watch or game to play, enforce strict rules of not leaving the room or opening the door. Give them numbers to contact you and if they are good and quite rewards the next day of some kind. Not only is Ab old enough your older son is older as well so the can team up for the little one.

Noelle

I concur!

I am ever so impressed with your movie nights!!! The activities and the food. :worship::worship: I think your kids will look back on these when they are adults and be in total awe of you. :goodvibes

As for leaving the boys with AB, I think if you are comfortable with it at home...it should be fine. I would make sure they know to stay in the room...but other than that I would think there would be no worries.

And for the question of the day.... a bit of trivia..

"CinemaScope was an anamorphic lens series used for shooting wide screen movies from 1953 to 1967. Its creation in 1953, by the president of 20th Century-Fox, marked the beginning of the modern anamorphic format in both principal photography and movie projection.

The Walt Disney Company was one of the first companies to license the CinemaScope process from Fox, and among the features and shorts they filmed with it, created one of the best-regarded examples of early CinemaScope productions with the live-action epic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.[3]"

And as for the animated film.... lady and the tramp

I'm sorry Ann! I posted my answer before I even read that you had posted an answer. I was reading the beginning of everyone's and didn't see an out and out answer at the start, so I jumped onto google! lol

I don't know why leaving them is making me have such hang ups...maybe it was because of that little girl from the UK who disappeared from the hotel room in Spain...she looked just like Ab when she was that age. Ab is super mature and super responsible...almost to a fault at times and the boys are usually really good for her...and they are not that young. I could even probably bribe them with a little more $$$ to spend if they have a good night.

I think that it would be fun to slip away with dh and have a date night at Disney....and I would only be going across the lake to the Beach Club. I know that by this time on our trip dh will be craving red meat! So I am making the Yachtsman ADR...and if I second guess myself later on I will cancel it...I think I am going to crash the system today anyway with all my changes. :rotfl2:

Do it Do it! We're about to sit down with paper and pen and look at our stuff again with the new day!

Just a thought, but can you get pizza at the hotel instead of bringing it back from DHS? Or, I bet you could even call a local delivery place.

I think all the resorts do a delivery pizza service from the food court/ CS restaurants.

LOOKS GREAT!! :thumbsup2 I'm jealous of some of your after holiday crowd levels!! It seems ours just keep going up up up. :sad2: Oh well... it's Disney World... it's not like we can have the park to ourselves as we'd like! :lmao:

Seems like I have not gotten on here today...sorry! But I have been tinkering with my schedule and messing with my ADRs....:scared1: Somebody stop me! Then I mess around and I read EASYWDW and we should expect BIG CHANGES to park hours and entertainment schedules for December around November 18th...just shoot me now! :headache::headache::headache:

I like the changes that you made! I have to order ridemax soon, I am going to look into it tomorrow!
Before I leave I am going to make a list of all of your 100 things so that I can make sure that I get to them... I love them! And by the way, I thought it was Rex that was in Monsters Inc? How did you paint the Kaa pizza roll? Food coloring? The both movie nights look great! You always do them really nice! I love cardamom! I like Chai tea because it's in there!
I think that Ab staying with the boys is fine if you set strict rules and such! The little girl in Spain? Wasn't she left just by herself and really little? I wouldn't worry, especially if you let them know that bad behavior will bring unwanted consequences! I think that you can use credits for a pizza delivery?!?! I thought that I read that somewhere....

If Ab was younger, I'd suggest sending them to the kid's club at the Beach Club for a few hours. I don't remember the age ranges for that. But my oldest use to beg to go there whenever we ate at the Cape May Cafe.

Can you book an ADR at a closer restaurant. So that if something is needed you are just a hop, skip and a jump away?

Just a thought, but can you get pizza at the hotel instead of bringing it back from DHS? Or, I bet you could even call a local delivery place.

If you order pizza out, just make sure you order from a place the resort recommends. There are some scams out there in Orlando.

I tried to look for a funny thing to welcome you back but couldn't find one I liked.... I hope it's just life getting in your way--- in a good way!!! :grouphug:

I think she had some work stuff going on this week - so probably just busy and exhausted! But I'm with the girls... we miss you!!!

Thanks for thinking of me...this week is really rough and I can't seem to find any happy place, not even with Disney planning. I am making a 9 hr drive today after to work to north of Denver (where I grew)...a lot of emotions happening but maybe the 18 hr round trip drive by myself will give me some chances to clear my head and fun some happy. Both things professionally and personally STINK right now.

Where did you go? Are you ok?

Noelle

beginning to wonder too...

I hope everything is ok.

I hope so too. Hopefully just caught up in the busyness of life.

Me too! We miss you Tammie! Come back to us!

:grouphug::hug::grouphug::hug::grouphug: Big loves for Tammie! We'll stick around ya for moral support, even if we're not physically there!

I think that is the saddest Stitch I have ever seen!

I hope that you get time to feel better! We are here if you need to talk! Drive safe and maybe stop and treat yourself to something- even if it's only an ice cream or something!

:hug: I am sorry! If you need to vent we are here. Feel free to pm me if you want. I know I could not have got through this last year had it not been for all of you. It is amazing the feeling that someone..somewhere is thinking of you. Someone who doesn't have to... but still wants to be cause they care. :goodvibes

Please drive safe. That is a long drive to do by yourself. I wish you were not alone!!!
