2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

Sir Hisssssssssss in Robin Hood.

Theme night party ideas:
You'll need some plastic swords, of course.
Broccoli trees from Sherwood Forest
You could have some coins (that Robin Hood steals in the story) and have family earn them somehow, then redeem for prizes (even related to WDW - ticket to pick the first attraction we go to, first snack we eat, etc.).
You could have an archery contest.

Way to go Susan...I think that would be 1 point for Sir Hissss, and hmmm great theme night ideas 4 points for those!

Today's Question...

"Love is a Song" is from what Disney Movie?

Great pictures of the kids :thumbsup2 How I wish our kids had uniforms, Ben wears his own uniform (polo shirt and khakis every day by his own choosing), Sam wars anything I put out but Christian goes to school dressed like he's going to baseball practice every day. There's nothing really wrong with it but I just wish he'd dress up a bit nicer. He's refuses to wear polo shirts except when on the golf course and I think he only wears his khaki shorts when nothing else is clean :rotfl:

Great pictures of the kiddos! So cute! :goodvibes

What I wouldn't give for school uniforms... my DD changed twice this morning... from cute and more dressed up to athletic shorts and t-shirt... :confused3 She baffles me daily. :upsidedow

Has your hot seat cooled off some more at work?

Being naughty at work...should finish cleaning files and office... Done with presenting for time being although I have a training coming up in 2 weeks I should be working on! Computer lesson plan site is down until Tuesday so no one really needs me, as they are working in rooms today....SO look what I just created

My first 2 autograph book pages...I did a test run printing 8x10 size and the are PERFECT !!!!

Here are the pages I decided I needed:

Universal studios
Islands of adventure
Superheroes
Dr. Seuess
Grinch

Epcot
MK
DHS
AK
....for any generic characters we run into

Mickey
Chef mickey's
Cinderella & friends (1900 park)
Crystal palace
Captain hook
Tinkerbell
Fairies
Princess
Prince
Toy story
Phineas & fern
Marie

Mexico
Norway
China
Germany
Italy
Us
Japan
Morocco
France
Uk
Canada

Every page will be 8x10, on photo paper, sign with a black sharpie with 4-5 autographs on each page...gonna bind them with heavy tag board together to protect them on trip/make easy to sign and the take apart and crop into my album with pictures of character!

Could you please spit some of your creativity across the state border towards me? Love those pages! I've got to get started... :sad2:

Ah.. late to the trivia. I too would guess Bambi... played in the opening credits???

LOVE those awesome autograph book pages!

Sure...sending the creative thoughts your way!

I really like how they turned out! I tried out a black sharpie and it was perfect. The background picture is fuzzy so the autographs really stand out! I put one on one of my 12x12 album pages...just enough room for some journaling and embellishments!

The only tough part is finding the photos to use as backgrounds! At work it was not easy cause everything is blocked by the filter! Grrrrrr

Oh I love that idea that you settled on for the autograph books! Are each of your kids going to have his/her own picture for each of the pages or are you doing the same? I had made Damien's epcot book, I will post pictures of it tomorrow since it finally came in the mail today! I would post pictures of him the first day of school, but we don't start until Sept 6th! I am excited for it to start because I can start making more for the trip (because most of it's a surprise) but he's going to be a 1st grader and that's just sad! I want the little baby back that had trouble getting his thumb into his mouth at 3 months old!

Hey did you do Jungle book yet? I don't see it and maybe I passed it:confused3? I am doing that this upcoming week sometime!

The pages will not really be in an "album," just a spiral holder to keep them together and protected until I get home and take them out to scrapbook them into a scrapbook album of our trip. We will have just 1 "album" and all of the pictures/autographs will go in the trip album...when I am dead and gone the kids can fight who gets the trip album. I used to scrap everything 3 times for each child to have their own album, now I keep a family album and up date each child's album with a series of pictures from the entire year along with anything that was special to only them that year.

Hugs mom on sending your little on to 1st grade! They grow up so fast...I will have to say I got a little teary eyed when I left Goo at Kindergarten last week!

No, we have not had Jungle book yet....it keeps getting pushed back!? I have planned to do a chicken curry, naan bread, and a rice pudding (or maybe a king louie & baloo cream pie for dessert...berries & bananas) for our meal. There is an Indian restaurant in town, but I am a little scared to try it...but I want too! I have printed a game from Family Fun to use...

:cool1::cool1: Yay I know this one because we just watched the movie AGAIN yesterday! It's from Bambi!

Lisa gets the point for being first, and Ann gets a point for knowing it was in the opening credits!

Today's Question...
Madame, Medusa, Mr. Snoops, and the alligators Nero and Brutus are villains from what Disney movie?

Sorry to go MIA on Friday night...dh called me Friday afternoon and wanted to know if I was up for a quick trip to the cabin? Of course I agreed, especially after I tapped on the weather app on my phone that said home was going to be 100+ all weekend and the cabin was in the low 70s for the high, rainy and the lows...yippee low 40s! So at lunch I ran and picked up a few groceries (after I scanned my movie night list and came up with a perfect movie for Saturday) and raced home straight from school through in a few clothes and we were off.

Here is our movie night...

August 20th
Brother Bear 1 & 2

Activity: Berry Picking and Fishing

We decided to be bears all day on Saturday...with the boys doing a little stream fishing (the canyon had been closed most of the summer due to drought and now it is finally open...my boys were itching to hit the river. While they fished, the choke cherries were ripe so Ab and I sent our time picking them...they make a YUMMY jelly and syrup! Last year we missed them, they ripened early...so no jelly last year! I had planned for us to make totems...and then make a family totem pole, but in the rush to leave I left the art stuff behind!

Choke Cherries...I will not tell you how many signs of real bears we found when we were picking...:scared1:

Ab picking...

Dinner: Le Cellier Cheddar Cheese Soup, Pretzel Bread, Northern Lights Drink, and Chocolate Mousse

BEAR_DINNER.jpg

Not exactly Le Cellier's recipe for Cheddar cheese soup...I added some potatoes and instead of making pretzel bread we just bought some frozen pretzels...perfect dinner (I had been craving soup, but 100+ temps don't mix)

bear_drink.jpg

Northern Light Drink...pretty yummy

In honor of Tutt and Rutt..I think these guys are 2 of favorite characters in all of Disney...I wanted to watch their version of the movie when they narrate it...but I was overruled!

As I wait for the choke cherries to boil down I thought I would get caught up posting my movie nights...

We have had a couple of other movie nights this past month...they were nothing really special and really felt like duds after the great ones we did in July. I just have to get back into the hang of not going all out...

Dinner & a Movie Night
Aladdin
August 13

ALADDIN_TITLE.jpg

Just dinner and the movie again tonight...the kids did make the cookies for dessert. I had planned for us to cut out 3 pictures of our 3 wishes and put them on genie lamps...but we just did not get around to it.

Dinner: Shish Kabobs, Couscous, Tiger Cookies with Camel Hump Sundaes

aladdin_goomakes.jpg

So did not do well with the couscous...

ALADDIN_DINNER.jpg

The kids had a great time putting on their kabobs what they wanted...

ALADDIN_DESSERT.jpg

The cookies were really yummy, made with frosted flakes and then chocolate swirled into the batter to give it a tiger effect!

Dinner & a Movie Night
Lion King 1 1/2
August 6

LION_TITLE.jpg

Just dinner and a movie tonight. We had never watched Lion King 1 1/2...now know why. This movie was BAD!

Dinner: Pork Ribs, Loaded Pride Rocks (baked potatoes with the works), Serengeti Slaw and Zebra Cups...not sure why I have no pictures of dinner other than dessert

Today's Question...
Madame, Medusa, Mr. Snoops, and the alligators Nero and Brutus are villains from what Disney movie?

The rescuers! Funny personal trivia... my dd who is just about to turn 21 loved the second movie (Rescuers down under) When she was about 2 she would hound me saying "wanna watch Co -D" Brings back memories for me.

That is one of my all time favorite Disney movies. I think next week... maybe I will have to pick that one.

So the soup.. I have tried making it at home (with the recipe from all ears) and I didn't like it as much.

What exactly is in the drink?

Berry picking is one of my favorite late summer activities. Here though... it is blackberry. We tried to go up into the mountains to get huckleberries, but have yet to have that be sucessful.

As for the Tutt and Rutt commentary... I have heard it is very funny. I would be out ruled too though.
