2 Adults/2 kids in 1 rm @CBR

Hello!

I'm wondering if CBR has trundle (sp?) beds available? I don't even know what a trundle bed is, but I read somewhere the you can request them at certain resorts. If that's true, at what point would I make that request? A few days before I arrive or when we arrive?

It will be myself, dh, ds (10) and dd (12) staying in one room at CBR with 2 double beds. If we can get a trundle bed that would be great because then the kids could take turns between that and the second double bed.

Has anyone ever done this?

There are no trundle beds at CBR. POR - in the Alligator Bayou section has them. It's the only moderate that has them.

ok, thanks...is a trundle bed the same as a roll away bed? i just read a post somewhere on the resorts board all about CBR that said you can request a roll away bed for a fee of $15.

A trundle is a bed that fits under a larger bed - it kind of rolls out from under and is "closer to the ground".

If you want to stay at the CBR, just go ahead and request the rollaway. You'd have to pay the same fee for the trundle bed, anyway and IMHO, the rollway is better. I'm not 100% positive, but I think the trundles are a little smaller than the rollaways and really are good only for children to sleep on. If your kids are closer to adult size, they'll probably like the rollaway better.

We had a room with a trundle bed on our last trip. It sounded like a good idea until my 5' tall 10 y.o. DS laid on it. It's shorter and more narrow than a twin bed, and it's located under the bed next to the outside door (so when you pull it out, it's right next to the door). He only used it one night of three. He said he felt cramped, and that he could feel a draft from the door.
