2/9/2008 - Valentine Cruise 7 Night Western - Anyone On The Love Boat ?

Love it, Tink. :thumbsup2

We are doing the Nachi beach thing too. I don't think we'll be doing any other excursions though. I really just want to find a beach and go sit on it. Any beach. Preferably with a drink that has an umbrella sticking out of it too. :cloud9:

Thanks tevagirl.
Looks like the Nachi Cocum beach may be a popular one with our group.

Tink! Look at your ticker! We are under two months!!!

Isn't it exciting.
Looking outside today, all the ice and snow....really makes me think about sitting on the warm sand drinking a froofy beverage.

Judy,

TWO MONTHS FROM TODAY YOU GET MARRIED!!!!

Yay!! 2 months from right now we'll be at Smith's Cove sipping champagne and eating wedding cake!!

Hello to you both as well! We're getting snow :santa: here today!

My boys have chatting with some of the kids on the kids thread. I haven't been keeping up with it but I think they have found some common interests with the kids from the UK. Guess I could have read the other thread first....

Has anyone put together a list of excursions that people are doing? I think we are a taking a taxi to the Seven Grapes of Wrath beach in Grand Cayman.

Here are our plans for excursions:
KEY WEST: Echo Catamaran Wild Dolphin Encounter and Shipwreck Snorkel (not DCL)
http://dolphinecho.com

GRAND CAYMAN: Suprise Wedding Vow Renewal for the In Law's (Not DCL)

COZUMEL: Xcaret Eco-Park (DCL)

CC: Don't know what the rest of the group is doing but I'm declaring it my day off and spending the day by the beach!:beach:

How's everyone this morning? Just sitting here drinking my coffee:surfweb:, working from home. Glad I decided to bring some work home with me last night, the roads got covered in freezing rain around here. :scared:

So, here's what I'm thinking......
Plan on surprising DS9 on Christmas morning with the cruise. So far I have in the box: matching Pirate Shirts, white Mickey Gloves, Micket Ears & Hat, Minnie & Mickey Ornaments (already gave him the Jack Skellington because I couldn't resist), swim trunks. Then I thought I'd create a page (probaly a scrap page) that said something like this.....

3 Passports $300
3 Roundtrip Airline Tickets $600
7 Days on a Cruise Ship $4000
The look on Brandon's face when he realizes he's cruisin' with Mickey on his birthday...........................PRICELESS!!!

What do ya think?

Those are great ideas! I've put together a box for DS7 and DS9 containing flip flops, Tinkerbell suncreen, swim suit cover ups, Disney gift cards, Disney socks and waterproof camera's. I found another idea on one of the threads I'm going to do as well ... I'm going to take all of the letters that spell out DISNEY CRUISE, cut them up individually and place them in an envelope at the bottom of the box of 'goodies'. When they get to it, they will have to take the letters out and make the words DISNEY CRUISE to find out where they are going.
It's getting close - can't wait!!!:santa:

EEEEKKK...:scared1: ...I thought I'd got loads of time but its running out fast - we are leaving the UK on the 1st of February so actually I've only got 6 weeks to sort everything !!!!!!!

Still to do :eek: ;

- finalise silk flowers (we are taking them with us)
- outfit for Joe (not too much linen stuff in the shops mid winter here !!!)
- shoes for the boys ( ""ditto "" sandals )
- chase up US website company (Wedding Whimsy) doing our cake topper & headresses (very slow to reply - not replied to last email sent a week ago... so getting very nervous !...and no contact phone number)
- chase up our harpist in Cayman to make sure he recieved the CD of Welsh hymns (surprise for Brian)
- contact Grand Old House with final details & information she needs.
- find my darn shoes !!! I hid them from Brian, and now I can't find them :rolleyes1
- make appointments here to get my nails into shape and start a fake tan.

...............oh dear mustn't PANIC !!!!:

Deep breaths, Judy! Deep breaths! Do I need to slap you?

It will all work out.....before too much longer you'll be sitting back having a nice drink on the beach thinking how fantastic it turned out.

Well Jusy, everything will come together and it will be an incredible day!

Hi All!! We are back from sunny HOT HOT Florida as of yesterday. It was 83 all week and we come home to snow yuck. It was a great trip and Mickey's Christmas party was fantastic!! Now it's cruise time it'll be here before you know it!! The ideas for surprising the kids for Christmas with the cruise sounds great!! I love the priceless idea!! :) Can't wait to go cruisin'
Laurie

Glad to hear you had soooo much fun Laurie.....I must say I'm quite jealous, we got hammered last week with freezing ice then several inches on snow on top of that. So glad it's getting up to the upper 30's so some of this stuff can start melting. Warm sunny beach here we come.

Wow!! Christmas is already upon us and the cruise is nearly here too!
Did anyone else end up booking the Dolphin encounter with Echo Catamaran?
Just curious!!

Hi Thea.....we were thinking of booking this excursion, but haven't yet? I was concerned with the times and getting back to the ship on time. We would have to do the afternoon excursion....just not too sure? Do you know how long of a walk it is to this place from the ship? Thanks for your input.

I know....Christmas in just 4 days can't wait!! How much snow did you get? We came home to 10 inches that had fallen when we were at the World and came home to last Saturday's storm that gave us a few more inches!

Laurie

From the directions given on the catamaran website, it appears that all three cruise ship docks are walking distance to the catamaran...it also states that a cab ride is 5 minutes. DCL lists our departure time from Key West as 7:30pm so it looks like we should have plenty of time. Yes, you would need to book the afternoon trip (which should be a bit warmer than the morning anyway!).

We got 10 inches of snow on the Thursday storm (which cause unbelieveable gridlock state-wide...I'm sure you've heard the stories of it by now!) and another 3 inches or so on that Saturday/Sunday Nor'easter. So long as is doesn't snow on Feb 8th we'll be fine!

I too am interested in the Key West excursion, but wasn't sure about the times. Is everyone thinking the afternoon is the best with our arrival & departure times in Key West?
