2/5/05 Eastern--anyone booked?

Hey Merv and Renee,

My family and I are on your ship. We live in Canyon Country. :cool1: I think we live in canyon country that is if the mud slides don't move us to Newhall :charac2: ( hahah).

We are flying from Burbank on friday, staying at the radisson. :3dglasses

We are counting the days . :badpc:

Originally I had said let's meet at 3:30, but we should probably make it 3:00 so that everyone has time to get ready for the safety drill at 4:00. So we'll meet on Deck 10, side closest to the port, right above the Goofy Pool. Sound good?

Denise

:moped:

3 O'clock on deck 10 port side, we'll be there :umbrella:

Kevin

PS,

Denise u did a GREAT JOB on the spread sheet :grouphug:

Yeah! Another Californian! :-) We are building our Ark right now. The corner in front of our house flooded Sunday (luckily our house is up a little from the corner on a hill). Too bad we are not flying out on the same flight. I have flown into Burbank before. One of the best kept airport secrets around (in So. Cal).

Anyone reading this... I believe I am going to Disneyland for a few hours Saturday. Anyone need me to pick something up? Please LMK by Thursday (in case I decide to extend my "play" time and go up Friday evening). I am planning on buying those red Disneyland name tags I mentioned in another post.

Denise: The 3PM time sounds a lot better. I was reading my two DCL books this weekend, and 3:30 sounded like we would be cutting the drill time pretty close.

Talk to you soon.

Hi Renee

Yes, we splurged too and got the Premium APs. One year I had the Deluxe and DW (Leah) had the Premium for the discounts/parking, but since we knew it was going to be DL 50th it will be worth it. Its funny on the parking tram this past New Years we overheard some other guests talking about how crazy APers are to spend $$$$ on the passes and the $$$ on food, etc. But I think your statement that it pays for itself is on target. Before we were married we used to go to DL instead of going out and watching movies. Now we end up going about once a month. Even though we are pretty close, DW and I do wedding videography on the weekends so it's hard to get out there at times. Currently we are planning to be there on May 5th for the 50th opening, and the actual anniversary on June 5(?) hopefully. Our favorite activity at DLR is actually just watching DS2 (Jaylen) interact with all the sights and sounds there. Speaking of Millionaire. I was lucky enough to get to the hot seat when the thing just opened. I lost on the 125K point question, thus giving me a 35K point polo and pins. I always wondered how many DCL cruises were awarded for the million point question at DCA. Those red name tags are a great idea. Leah has been getting DL pins to hopefully do some trading at WDW and on board.

We actually fly to LAX on 2/12, both our flights are non-stops because of DS. Did you go through a TA or through DCL directly. I guess the next big thing are the docs. We went though a TA so our docs may take longer. Its just a little scary because we leave for Orlando a week before the cruise and from these boards it seems some get their docs sometimes a little over a week before the cruise. We are also in Late Seating. Have you booked any excursions. I can't believe that it's less than 30 days now.

See everybody poolside on 2/5!

Merv

Hi Merv,

I believe the Disneyland's true b'day is July 17th. I will double check and let you know. I am hoping to go on 5/5 and 7/17. Should be crazy, but who cares. :-) Rumor has it that Space will not be ready in time for 5/5 (and may not be ready until Fall). I will also be going for a week in August. My best girlfriend's daughter's dance troop from Utah has been invited to Disneyland for a workshop. What makes it magical is the troop is all children with Downs Syndrome. Disneyland is trying it out to see if they can make it work and invite other special needs groups to the park for workshops.

I made it in the hot seat, too. It was so awesome. At the time, the big prize was a trip to NY. I bumped out on question 11 (answer: Cal Arts --some school Walt Disney had a hand in located in Valencia I believe - Yikes!) so I have the shirt, pins and hat, too. Do you remember the question you got bumped out of the chair on? Being in the chair is a blast. I use to try and get the first answer right (using my knowledge), now my friends and I agree on a letter combo (such as BACD) and punch it in as fast as we can. (A trick we picked up from a kid that got in the hot seat.) Most of us have made it in the "hot seat" at least once using this special "secret" technique. :-)

Since you are late seating, would you be interested in linking our reservations with ours? What this will do is make it so your family and my husband and I share a table for dinner. We love kids and would enjoy your two year old. If you would like to do this, I'll need your reservation number. Our # is 22023520. (If you would like to and do not want to post your number, you can call DCL with our number or email it to me at reneepate@sandiego.com.) We did this in November with another family from Michigan. Unfortunately, we had to cancel about 62 days out (just in time to get a full refund). (***Anyone else interested in linking late seating dinner ressies, LMK.)

We have not booked any excursions. Right now, I believe we are going to stay on board in St. Maarten and maybe do a city tour in St. Thomas. What about you? (**Anyone else signed up for excursions yet?)

Talk to you soon.

Renée

renee & Merv,

I think it would be great to have a California Late seating table. My dw and DS9 would be happy to join your families if interested. Our reservation # is 21798243. :grouphug:

We have made a few excursation plans. St.Maarten we are going to Great Bay beach. This is not a dcl trip we are doing it on our own thru advice from DIS members. St.Thomas we are doing the Hike in St.John. Our DS will doing a report for school. At CC we have rented rafts and I am doing the jet ski thing @11am. :earseek:

Talk to everyone soon. :badpc:

I spoke to TA this morning they he said that our docs have not been processed yet. As for the guy stating he got his doc yesterday for our cruise I think he was just trying to get us all worked up. :rockband:

Tom surprised me over the weekend by adding the REAS package to our reservation! I called Debbie this morning and made all our reservations. She is even nicer than everyone says she is! She made our Palo dinner and also brunch and tea as a courtesy. We fly down on the 4th, so only 24 more days!!!

Denise

Hi everyone! SO SO excited!
Kdicey, can you tell me more about Great Bay Beach? I've seen some snippets here and there about beaches but no details.
Are ya'll expecting CC to be chilly? We also had some friends who just returned and said the sea days were too windy and chilly to swim on board. Does anyone else think this will be our case?
Counting the days!

We were on the 2/1 Wonder last year, and the weather was great for swimming. On board it was in the 70's, and when we got to Castaway Cay it was in the 80's. Perfect!!!

Denise :boat:

Thanks Denise!
I'm very concerned about the weather. You can probably tell by my questions about swimming while in dock, etc. Thank you for your reassurance!
We leave for FL in 23 days! Woo hoo!

Hi,

Your reservation and ours is officially linked for dinner. When I called I did not have Denise's "cheat sheet" with your name (and do not know your last name), so I gave your ressie # and said it is a husband, wife and 9 year old. He replied back, OK your are now sitting with Kevin, Sana and John. At which time I responded with "thanks!" :-) They are giving us a table for 6. It is in their computer and we can remind the "mater d" (however it is spelled) the first night if something goes goofy. I am so excited.

Anyone else on late dinner that would like to join us? We can get a bigger table. :-)

TTYS, Renée

What a sweet husband! Congratulations on REAS. We signed up for it, too. You are right -- Debbie is great. Are you doing the facial/massage combo or all massage. We are doing the combo. We are also signed up for dinner @ 7:30 2/9. What about you? I also went ahead and signed up for champagne brunch and high tea (even though we do not drink champagne or tea). There is always dessert. :-)

Are we there yet?

One tiny thing to consider about beaches on St. Maarten (based on my recent reading) -- they are European style (a.k.a not all swimsuit appearal is required). Me personally, I don't even like looking at myself sans swimsuit, let alone strangers so I will be skipping the beach (just in case what I have read is true). :-)

Have a good night.

P.S. When I talked to Disney Cruise Line a few days ago, they said my docs would be processed this coming Friday (1/14). (I was trying to find out my room number which is yet to be assigned.) I suspect we should see them next week.

Hi Renee and kdicey,

I just PM'd Renee my DCL res. #. Sorry I didn't get to respond earlier. My family would love to join all of you for late seating. Can't wait to exchange stories of each days' adventure with you all. I,m still deciding which night to try for Palo.

Merv

renee,

Thanks for agreeing to eat dinner with my family. My wife sana and son Jon will enjoy. FYI my son is very well behaved. He is extremely well traveled in short life .

We are also on a REAS reservation  . We have dinner reservations at 7pm on the 9th. Our Brunch rexervations are for 10;30 on Monday followed by our spa appointment @ 2pm.

I'm sure my wife will be spending more hours in the spa.

It would be great to get a BIg table of all us together so if anyone else is eating late seating feel free to join us. :grouphug:

Tom is doing the all massage (I think it's called the Well-Being), and I am doing the spa taster (facial/massage combo).

Our Palo dinner is the same night as you! We're at 6:30, though. After I got off the phone and looked at recent Navigators, I saw that's the night of Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer. I really don't want to miss that!!!

We're doing the brunch on Sunday (2/6) at 10:30, and Debbie was able to add my mom and dad to the reservation, also! Then, just my mom and I will do tea on Monday at 3:00.

Can't wait!

Denise :flower:

Renee, :flower1:

I did read the same thing. I have heard many good things about Great bay beach. There seems to be a family section to the right side of the beach. :grouphug:

As for me I do think I will be swimming al natural. As for my son, I think he will to concerned with getting out to the Trampolone and jumping into the water to care if a naked fat old man walks by. :moped:

There seems to be some good shopping near the beach. I wish I knew which thread I was reading about the beach. I did print all the info.

There is a big Hotel next to the beach Great Bay beach Resort.
