2 1/2 day itinerary Disneyland Paris / Walt Disney Studios - Take 2

I bet that's true. The US ones have tons of calories and fat and that delicious Dove chocolate, and that's what makes them taste so good. In the US you can get boxes of Mickey Bars at Walmart for not all that much money than one at the parks, but that would be dangerous for me as I would eat one a day till they are gone. I limit myself to a Mickey Bar as a special treat at a Disney park, For the US ones I love biting off an ear of one on Mainstreet USA.

Actually I stay away from sweets in general these days with two exceptions: Cake at birthdays and Mickey Bars at Disney parks.
Bit of trivia: people in different countries like different recipes of chocolate. Kit Kats, which looks like the most standardazid candy in the world, actually has a different recipe for UK, US and some other countries in Europe.

lol My son remembered the Kit Kat bars that sort of taste like Vanilla wafers from when he was over in Italy. He never gets them in the US, but bought some on this trip..

Here are some examples of the new DLP merchandise line:

If I were to have a negative thing to say, for me I would say food. For example, Casey's corner (my favorite junk food at WDW - great chili cheese dogs there) -- definitely not the same and a place to skip at Disneyland Paris.
It's really funny because my wife is a huge American-style hot dog fan (always complains that she can't get decent ones in the UK) and yet she DIDN'T like the ones at Casey's Corner in WDW and says that the DLP Casey's is far superior!

But on the whole, counter service at Disneyland Paris leaves a lot to be desired. Even the best spots are just so-so.

I was there 2 weeks ago and didn't try the Mickey ice cream, but at Studios they had a cart near ToT selling magnum bars that they hand dip in chocolate and toppings that were the best things I ate at DLP. We got them twice. (My wife doesn't like scary stuff but rode ToT twice anyway and sugary treats are the best way to calm her anxiety after scary stuff, so we got them after both ToT trips.)

Okay, I said I would check on my next visit, but I only know remember to think about checking. It was incredibly hot today at the parks, so I was indesperate need of icecream.

To come back to your remarks that the Mickey bars being different in DLP from the US.

I bought a Mickey bar and made a picture of the wrapping. They are made in France, as expected.
And... I have googled the WDW Mickey Bar. So, let's compare!

DLP top, WDW bottom:

The French version has more calories, more fat (incl. saturated fat), WDW a gram more carbs, but less sugar, protein the same. So surprise surprise, the WDW Mickey bar is slightly healthier :D

And for the ingredients.

By the looks of it, different types of milk and different types of chocolate. whole milk vs. skim milk (I think this is different)? And the chocolate is hazelnut in France.

The DLP nutritional information is per 100g, not per serving though. Given that the WDW bar weighs in at 94g (according to my searches), that might mean the bars are about the same calorie wise. I volunteer to research both extensively!

Yes, if you could do that :D Most appreciated!

Thanks Karin1984! -- Interesting comparison of the two Mickey Bars! // I was guessing it was the fat content that made me like the US one and not the Paris one, but it looks like it's the ingredients. Appreciate the follow-up. I wouldn't get one in France again, but I will get one next time I am at the Magic Kingdom at WDW, but who knows when that will be. (Thanks again too for the tip way back then about seeing the Shine Brighter parade. -- DS and I both think back on that fondly when we reminisce about our trip. I loved so many things about Disneyland Paris -- but watching that parade with my son was for sure a big highlight for me. It just got us in such a wonderful mood.)

I'm going to be in Orlando for two days in February 2025 (visiting some relatives who live in the area) but for WDW I'm just visiting Magic Kingdom monorail resorts and having dinner at the Polynesian Hotel (watching fireworks at the Magic Kingdom from there - no WDW parks time). They do though sell Dole Whips at the Polynesian Hotel at their little quick service eating place, Captain Cooks. (I know those are a favorite treat of a lot of people on the WDW forum and my son loves those too, but he's not going with me on this mini trip). I think those taste good, but I am not a big enough fan to get one, especially given that I'll be having a big dinner. (The WDW Polynesian Hotel has a family style dinner place called Ohana that I really like, and I'll be eating there. That restaurant is so popular that I'll actually be getting up early on Dec. 6th, 2024 to make our reservation for Feb. of 2025 -- crazy. I'm going to go to SeaWorld the next day in Orlando too, but the Shamu bar isn't a "to die for yummy bar like the Mickey Bar at WDW" either, so I'll be skipping sweet treats on this mini Orlando adventure.
