Hi: Anyone that has been to wdw the first week of october how was the weather and the crowds. Just wondering if the heat is still unbearable.

Deb.

We were there Oct. 1-8 last year. Crowd levels weren't bad at the beginning of the week, but got progressively worse, especially at Epcot. We figured it was due to the Food and Wine Festival. Weather wise, we found the temps quite pleasant, tho we are from Houston and accustomed to heat. Tropical Storm Tammy probably cooled things off a bit. We had a few showers, but simply ducked into stores and waited them out.

Going that week this year too.
Was there in 1999 and 2003 at that time. It was plenty HOT and I'm from hot and humid S. AL.
We went to the MNSSHP in 2003 and it was very hot all night long. I don't know how people stood those costumes.
Haven't decided yet about going this year; but the night before driving home isn't a very good idea in my book.

We're at POP. You?

Melanie

Hi: We are still thinking about a trip so soon. We went last dec, but was able to get the free dining offer at french quarter as we do more resort/relaxing days now then park days.

. But I am not good in the hot heat, so I am wondering about next year in april/may or november.

Deb.

We have been twice in October. Last year it was hot, but I didn't consider it opprossively hot at all (that is, until we had our costumes on, lol) It gets quite hot where we live, so I am used to heat, and in fact, love to visit it in Florida--but of course, we don't go in the middle of summer or anything--that is when they really get what I would call "oppressive" or "unbearable" heat.

As for crowds, it's a fantastic time to go IMO because the crowd level is relatively low (not peak crowds or anything) but the weather is warm enough to enjoy everything. It is more crowded as you get to the days closest to Columbus Day (before and after) but not so much that I found it a problem, nor would I avoid those dates. I would certainly go again at that time.

I like visiting Underground Weather (www.wunderground.com) then click on Trip Planner, then enter your location and dates. It will give you the average temps during that period plus rain fall. It's really helpful when you're planning a trip.

I'm not sure about crowds; however, if you visit www.TouringPlans.com to see your crowd level.

We have visted the end of September in the past and because of the weather, we're visiting this year the last week in October.

I've been to Disney in October three separate years. The first two times the weather was very warm, but pleasant. The humidity was lower. Last year it was extremely hot and humid. UGH! But I guess I didn't hate it too much because I'm going again this year. ;)

Hi,
We went last year (2005) and found the weather to be hot and humid. We also found it very crowded, partly due to Free Dining and the first weekend of MNSSHP. Take a misting fan and patience and you'll be fine! :thumbsup2

Went went 9/24 through 10/4 last year. The first part of the trip, the parks were completely empty. As stated by Houston_Disney_Fan, as our trip progressed, the more crowded it got. It was also hot and humid the entire time. However, it is not stopping us for a trip again this fall (9/30-10/8).

October is one of the nicest times to go. We went the first week in October and it was in the low 80's and I didn't think the crowds were that bad. We took advantage of the extra hours especially early morning.

The last time we went in May and the weather is a little warmer and the crowds were heavier then in October.
