you are talking to the girl whose "diaper bag" was a ziploc bag, two diapers, a travel pack of wipes and another ziplock bag tucked inside her normal purse. I like to travel light.Maybe not bad, but shocking!
I don't travel often. Maybe once or twice a year for work. But I haven't been on a vacation in over 4 years! I never make a packing list for work trips (unless they are overseas trips) because that's an easy routine for me. But this is a very different situation and my packing list is kind of huge.![]()
Yes, if you have an ADR before a park opens, it's called a PPO. A lot of people like them because they eat and can get in line to the busy rides as the park is opening to everyone else.
Sooooo...not being a morning person,I've never done this, but from what I've read, that is PPO....pre-park opening. A CM will let you in through the gate early if you have a reservation. I assume magic bands are enough, or phone with MDE...but I'm so paranoid, I'd bring along a printout with reservation#...but I'm old school.
My morning diversion. Now I just need to stuff them with $$$ and seal them! Then will only need to write the room number on them and put them out once we're at Disney!

Ok so I don't need to buy anything extra to get in early, just have my reservation number for the CM at the gate?
@JamieOak I broke down and ordered a set of packing cubes yesterday too.
I need to order a phone back up charger. I know which one jamieoak got but I think it's too big for me. Which ones did you get @Mal6586 and @DisneyBelle27 ??
no mousekeeping I don't think. if you are staying longer you get a "trash and towel" day at 4 days I think (not full cleaning, just take your trash away and give you clean towels) and then on the 8th day you get a full cleaning (something like that). If you want to tip the mousekeeper I'd just leave it upon check out, the equivalent of one night.Anyone here with dvc experience, I think maybe @Lisa F, I have a question. I'll be staying 2 nights at SS and 3 nights at OKW. I don't think I'll be getting any Mousekeeping during my stay, since I'm staying on rented points, not booked through Disney, so it'll only be what was done to prepare my room initially. Anyone have advice on tipping?
I don't have a packing list. is that bad?![]()

I've been putting things like tickets and magic bands into my park backpack. Also the ponches from last trip.
my packing list is like 10 sets of underwear each
10 pairs of pants, 10 tshirts for kiddo. 10 pairs of socks.
2 pairs of pants (i do not wipe my hands on my clothes when I am eating), 10 sets of under things, 10 tshirts
1 sweatshirt for each of us
1 swimsuit for each of us, my coverup, pool appropriate shoes (i have this packed up from the summer, just need shake the sand out and transfer it over)
1 hat for each of us
my toiletry bag that I keep packed all the time (I go off island a lot so I am always ready to go, will make sure I have full shampoo and conditioners in there!)
I need to gather up a medication bag with aleve, pepto, benedryl, minor first aid kid, foot care kit, kids prescription meds and mine.
dog dog (kid's stuffed animal).
for the plane, electronics and sorcerers of the magic kingdom cards and binder.
i think that's about it, lol. what am I missing?

You shouldn't need to do anything else. We have a couple of PPOs and were told they have a list with your name/reservation on it and will just let you in early. They will let you in as early as 7:45 for any PPO, so go early and take pictures on empty streets if you like! I have also been told that they go ahead and seat PPO reservations early, so you don't need to wait until 8:40 to be at the restaurant.
Well, I won't make a packing list...but only because my kid is too old. I use to be very organized and write out a packing list. When they approached around 10, I would print out a packing list for each child and have them responsible for packing their own suitcase. They've had their own rolling suitcases since our big trip to Disney for NYE 1999-2000. Anyway, haven't packed for a kid in at least 10 years, and haven't printed out packing lists for at least 5! Woo-hoo! Add that to the list of don't misses! DD and I will throw stuff into a suitcase the night before we leave while watching Frozen...that's our plan!I don't have a packing list. is that bad?![]()
I ended up with the Jackery Pop. Has 2 USB outputs, but still pretty small. Roomie and I both have iPhone 5S's so it'll charge each of ours an additional full charge.@JamieOak I broke down and ordered a set of packing cubes yesterday too.

It is nuts! Mine have FINALLY moved! They started in Memphis on 11/4, then went to Bensenville, Illinois from 11/7 to 11/10. Now they are back in Memphis, scheduled to be delivered Monday.Ok, what is the deal with where Magic Bands ship from? Mine shipped from Florida (first USPS tracking was Tampa, FL) and then were with me within a day! My friend who is traveling with me lives in Tampa, and hers started in Memphis, and are sitting there! Makes no sense to me.

Have you tested it? I learned the hard way last time, that I should have tested my external battery to be sure it would hold a charge. I ended up in DHS with major problems with my MagicBands and charging to the room and no juice on my phone because of my battery back-up not working.![]()

I ended up ordering the smaller one that @DisneyBelle27 recommended earlier this am. It'll be here by Monday and I'm going to test it for sure before I leave! I don't want any surprises. I'm sorry you had issues on your last trip!
I'm in the process of testing this weekend. I'm at an out of town meeting, so I'm carrying it in my purse. I used it last night in the car during the drive for about half a charge, and I'll need to use it again later this afternoon probably, so I should have a good idea by the end of the weekend.Have you tested it?
