***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

post your plans again. I can't remember and have 45 minutes to kill.
Well.., now there are like 3 options..but generally,, the most likely definites are:

12/3 chef mickeys 515
12/4 MK EMM and 1900pf 410
12/5 crystal palace ppo and Ohana dinner 4
12/6 ...........
12/7 Akershus ppo and biergarten 420
12/8 tusker house bkfst and qs or yak and yeti dinner and RoL
12/9 MK in the am and BOG 515

The ones I am up in the air about is -
-what to do on 12/6....
- need mvmcp night in there
- don't want too much down time honestly. I almost think a morning in a park would be best before the evening party. My girls are the type that would get extremely bored with a whole day of really " nothing". But.. We have never been to Disney and its s whole different animal! So maybe it's ok..
- might add a park day and do MK on 12/6 with mvmcp that night... But that's a ton of MK ..
- we could park hop and do RoL on 12/6 evening. Only thing with that is at this point we would honestly just getting park hoppers for that one experience. Eek!

my suggestion. AK with TH breakfast morning of party, break, party on 12/8. if you do breakfast, safari, lion king show that is a nice morning without too much exhausting walking with everything in the same area (AK can be tiring because it is so spread out. I would just focus on Africa this morning. also Rafiki's planet watch and tough to be a bug are good to do) .

on 12/6 late start, pool, afternoon at AK (for Asia and Dinoland) & dinner at Y&Y, Rol. you do not need to park hop on 12/8 because MVMCP is standalone admission. it's sort of a free chance to hop. you keep your hard to get TH but move easy to get Y&Y. you could spend more time either of those days but build in some breaks without it being a whole day off.

How easy is it to add on to reservations? I already need to add one to our Beaches & Cream dinner ...
The best thing to do is to try to add the extra person to the ADR before you get to the restaurant. Keep checking even as late as that morning if you have to. Some restaurants will not be able to seat the extra person. And there is no guarantee that a party split into two reservations will sit anywhere close to each other. We made last minute reservations at Olivia''s and had to split our party of seven into two ADR's. When we arrived the restaurant was completely full except for two empty tables which were waiting for our group to arrive. There was no way they would sit us together. And a huge standby line formed in the hall with last minute diners. The day had turned rainy and cold and we weren't the only people who decided to dine at the resort restaurant that night.

Beaches and Cream is a very small restaurant and most of their tables fit four people or less. It has something like four booths that fit four people and six little round tables, the typical ice cream parlor type table. They also have seats at the counter. They usually turn away walk ups, so I would make sure you have an ADR for the entire party. :)

12/4 ....1900pf 410
We had a very nice dinner here with our grandchildren who were three and five years old at the time. Our three year old granddaughter was having a major meltdown just before the ADR and by the time we were seated she was still rather crabby. When Cinderella came to the table I told her how our granddaughter was having a bad day. Cinderella talked to her and calmed her down. It was one of the sweetest things I had ever seen. :) The strawberry soup helped, too.

12/8 tusker house bkfst and qs or yak and yeti dinner and RoL
Tusker House breakfast is really good. And it is fun for the kids, too. :)

DH and I are eating at Yak & Yeti and are hoping to catch Rivers of Light.

Wouldn't happen to be strange brew would it??:thumbsup2
And I'll drink to getting old sucks too! Cheers!! ( with my mom coffee..)

Wait, you know Strange Brew?!?! One of our favorite places!! We ended up going to this place called Pipe Dream Brewing. We're regulars because it's right around the corner from DH's work and our house :)

lol I had one skinny margarita last night and had dirty dream about Stephen Colbert. I might just lay off tequila for good!

Hahahaha, lightweight!

So that applies to tiers too? Eg epcot if I use my tier 1 I can only book another tier 1 once I've used my tier 2 fp too? :(

No wild night here. Had dinner with our neighbours and watched the jays game. Dd was in bed by 10 and ohhhhh was she cranky. Of course she was awake by 730am today. Rd is not going to be an issue!

Officially had a disney nightmare. Dd wasn't with us for some reason and we were staying in a shabby motel that somehow was on property. We were at hs and went to eat at scI fi diner but you had to order like counter service. At the CS my dh started acting really weird and I was getting mad and then worried. A cm walked us back to the motel room and told me my dh had altzheimers! Dh just kept mumbling nonsense - so weird! I am sure part of it is because my friends dad was just diagnosed with it.

Welcome to the Disney nightmare club!! LOL

This looks like the best day!! I'm completely impressed! :) Talking Mickey is something I'm particularly excited about, even as a grown woman and mother of two! lol :earsboy: My inexperience shines through when considering how realistic this is...but I sure do hope it is because it looks like so much fun!! It's a nice full morning (I don't think overly so) and a more relaxing afternoon with 2-3 great meals--sure seems like a winner! :thumbsup2 We have the same spot idea for FoF! ;)

I'm excited about talking Mickey too! I looked up a vedeo on you tube and dd saw it and said, "it's just someone in a costume" how can the magic be done already she is 6!!!

Thanks @Talby :) I'm excited for talking Mickey too and am hoping that he does talk. We went to see him in 2012 but he didn't talk and I didn't know he did until after so this will be our redo! Hoping that if he does not talk then we could go back again later on ;)

Oh noooo....lol! Well, she'll have her magical moments with the princesses I'm sure! princess: (I think/hope I have that right that your DD loves them :) ) Did you see the really cute things Mickey says? Like "Oh you're here!" TOO CUTE!! :-)

Wow, what a small world! I'm originally from Portsmouth; DH and I bought a house in Manchester about 8 yrs ago; we both went to college here :)

My best ever "it's a small world story" is from the summer I hitch-hiked to Alaska when I was 20 (my poor parents!) We were in the small little town of Valdez and I waitressing. I ended up waiting on some of my grandparents' very best friends from their small town called Hartford, MI. It was so bizarre!! I don't think anyone else here is from Michigan?

Aww it's ok, maybe when she gets there she'll be excited despite knowing it's a person in a costume :)

I have heard there are sometimes issues with the technology and that he sometimes isn't talking. :( I think we'll plan on seeing him at the front end of the trip just in case there is an issue. If there does happen to be a problem, we'll just tuck another visit with him in somewhere else on another MK day. :) Plan and the backup...check! lol :)
