Which Would You Choose #984:
I have all our ADRs nearly exactly how I want them. :tigger:I have 2 that I want to adjust times on slightly but it's not the end of the world if that doesn't happen. This was such a long time coming! lol Anyway...I'm considering shaking things up ONE MORE TIME. We will be rope dropping MK one day and then going for a nice breakfast at The Wave at 10:30. I'm considering changing this to Chef Mickey's. I am aware of the mixed reviewed but it is the hard-to-screw-up-too-much meal of breakfast and the focus is clearly on the characters. The food at The Wave I imagine is going to be quite good, but lacking that beloved Disney feel. Seems to come down to a choice between food vs. experience and I can't decide!! We have 2 other character meals this trip. So, Dear December DISers....which would you choose for breakfast? The Wave or Chef Mickey's?
It depends. Ate the characters similar at your other meals? Are your kids going to do better at a buffet?

@Candycane83 That's the sticking point...even getting a Chef Mickey ADR! lol Great idea about the 7 a.m.! :thumbsup2 Thank you!!

@Mintycake We just have 2 other character meals this trip, Crystal Palace and Minnie's Holiday Dine at H&V. Even though I have teenagers, we really do enjoy the characters so much. The characters and experience have appeal, but then again so does the food at The Wave and the calmer environment.

I guess I need to see if I can even get a Chef Mickey's first of all, or it's a nonissue! lol Might come down to looking at the overall "flow" that has been talked about here. :-) Thanks for the input!

What day are you looking for? :-)

I debated the stroller. Mt dd is 6 but the size of an 8 year old so I don think she will fit. But she gets worn out. We went to Busker fest yesterday but one thing I learned is she is patient in line (unlike dh and me) and after a few hous was wiped. I think we need to do early mornings and early nights.

I got an ohana breakfast at 1055 on 12/7. Still wondering. If we do an early night that night we might just keep my original ohana at 730 12/8. That way they won't be backed up and we can go to mk early.
We're doing very similar. Very early nights, early breakfasts... Just hope they aren't too excited to go to bed!! Hope they're wiped out!

I'm following along this thread even though we are looking at this week in 2017.

Would MK be completely decorated for Christmas the Sunday night after the Saturday parade taping? I'm just thinking that maybe we would do MVMCP the Sunday night and then MK Monday and Tuesday?
They leave the Christmas decorations up from November until early January :)

I know many of us use Josh's crowd calendars to try to help determine our park days and touring strategies. I wanted to link to a thread I found that was started recently where he responds a couple times explaining his thinking about crowd calendars and why he hasn't been doing new ones for a couple months now.

12/3 :)

I'm all for not choosing and doing both in nearly all instances! lol But we're at the "so many restaurants, so little time" point now.
I agree to try to get an earlier breakfast. It may be hard to leave when you're in the prime "riding" hours at MK, KWIM?

Sorry I should have been more clear.

I've read on here that Main Street doesn't get the big tree and high garlands up until AFTER the taping due to camera angles and the size of the floats. They will put those things up once the taping is complete.

I'm wondering if the tree/garlands will be up as soon as the Sunday night post-taping.

I hope someone knows the answer to your question! One thing I'll point out is that we don't know when they'll do the parade taping yet. Last year it was in mid-November, no one knows yet about this year. I'm expecting it'll be during my first week just so I'm prepared, but I'm hoping they'll do it in November again.

I see.. I'm releasing one for 12/6 for 3 at7:25am after I book my flight. It is a placeholder if our flight is too early on 12/12.

Totally get the too much thing since I'm doing it! :rotfl2:

Ahh, I get what you're saying now. I'm with @Iowamomof4 ...the only thing I have read in regards to the parade taping is that while it used to be done on the first Saturday in December, it was done in November last year. I'm not sure that they'll announce the taping date too far in advance, either.

Arg, ok.

We have to book our vacation in October/November for the entire 2017 calendar year (thanks to my DH's work seniority rules, ugh), so we essentially have to plan our travel dates at that point.

Yep, same with us. Most companies are making their employees do the same. Makes it difficult to have any spontaneity!

@Iowamomof4 I agree with this. Unfortunately I feel it will get worse with FP booking! But as usual, keep checking! Things open up all the time! :) I'm also in a pinch with my BoG reservation that's 6:20 on party day. I have ohana as a back up at 3:30pm but I prefer BOG for that day...

Love back up plans!

At least that's IN the park! :) I'm hoping for 'Ohana at 3:30 on December 1. That would be ideal for us.

We took a 7:15 CRT on our party night 12/1. I know it will take party time... but this is a special night.
Our last trip DD 8 DS 6, I was unable to get a CRT booking. This will their first. I ate their as a child when it was still King Stephen's Banquet. Ha... now I'm dating myself.

Still searching for an earlier ADR

@ Talby ask the kids which they would like more and keep searching for the Chef Mickey's .

Has anyone considered the Starwars party for 12/2? I really really really want to join the Disers for the party. My DD thinks 12/2 would be better so we can take advantage of the EMH after the party.
I'm on the fence....

I'm sooooo close to adding a second MVMCP on 12/4...:rolleyes1
