***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Even though the BOG ADR grab didn't work, I went through my plans and my Tuesday is finalized. We switched our AK day and decided against an early breakfast so I have these two ADRs to cancel:

Tuesday, December 6th: 3 people

Tusker House Lunch at 3:00 pm
Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Faire at 8:15 am

PM if interested or I can add to the spreadsheet to cancel later.

I have been driving myself nuts trying to get a PPO BOG for 12/15. I had one for 12/12 but our plans changed so I gave it away. I know this thread is for 1st week, but I have a Ohana breakfast 12/15 for 5 I would be willing to trade for a PPO BOG if anyone sees someone getting rid of one.

Your plans look great! I know we have discussed that we will be there on the same dates but can't remember if I saw your itinerary before. We will be at Epcot on 12/2 as well but are having dinner at Chefs before our 8:15 pm CP. We have had lunch or dinner at CR on past trips and really enjoyed it. On 12/6 we will be at TRex an hour after you. On 12/9 we will be at AK as well and having dinner at Boma. Our plans might change depending on what happens with ROL. We have had breakfast there before and loved it! We did SOA our last trip for the first time and enjoyed it. A few people in our family have food allergies and they were great accommodating. We are doing HDDR on 12/7 this trip for the first time with the early show. I have not been since I was a kid so it will be like seeing it for the first time. We were lucky we somehow were able to book it at 180 days. I hear a lot of people are having issues.

That's right, I remember that now CynBeth. :) If we had just 2 more days, we would without a doubt be doing CP and HDDR. I've heard similar things about the HDDR issues--glad you have yours! Having so many options is both a pro and a con sometimes, particularly for someone who tends to be indecisive (me!). I think we're pretty close to being "finalized" though. Whew! :-)

so..just had an unsuccessful adr transfer!!! :( it was over pm, and we were very clear about canceling/retrieving. lol. but, it wasn't there for her to grab :( any ideas why? Do you think IT may hold on to a few canceled reservations? do you think it'll release later on at some random point? So funny, because I only did one other transfer, and the person got it immediately

It's a sad day on both sides when a transfer isn't successful. :sad1: Such a thrill when it goes well, total bummer when it doesn't. I hope everyone ends up with exactly what they are hoping for! pixiedust:

I'm putting this out there to get some thoughts from somewhere other than my own head! o_O I welcome ANY input at all! :thanks:

Fantastic plans... just one thing. I thought the wild Africa Trek came with a meal...

My pontoon is for Wishes... it's our arrival night. We fly in at 3:20 on 11/26. We'll either go to DS after check-in or head to one of the monorail resorts for dinner. We have to be at the contemporary dock at 8:45 for a 9:00pm boat launch. :)

I've been out school shopping all day... ugh. We did pick up a few Disney shirts at Kohl's!

I'll have to catch up on the rest of the thread later. Heading out for date night with DH..

What a way to kick off the vacation!! :woohoo:

RE: Africa Trek...They're calling the food "African-inspired snacks". Morning/afternoon are different, but here's the morning lineup:
  • Air-dried beef and prosciutto
  • Smoked salmon roulade with dill
  • Fig cake with Boursin cheese
  • Brie cheese and apricot
  • Berry yogurt and dried cranberries
  • Fresh fruit marinated in mint and ginger
Although they are pretty open-minded to trying new things, I anticipate my kids are not going to absolutely love everything on this list! lol So that's why we're planning Tusker House right after. :) I've thought about changing this to Flame Tree--it's something we all want to try and we could split a couple of QS meals. Not quite sure on this one yet.
I'm having a hard time talking about school starting...that means I will officially have a senior!! :scared1: Awww...Happy Date Night!!:love:

I showed DH the Wild Africa Trek last night, thinking he would jump at the chance to go because he loves the safari and taking pictures, but he wasn't interested at all. :(

Not that I want to even think about our vacations being over (can barely even mutter the words!), but I do hope we all can meet back up here after all of our trips and share pics and stories. I look forward to hearing about the experiences others are doing that aren't going to fit into our plans this time...HDDR, CP, the different resorts, various dining experiences. I'll share what WAT was like for us if there is any interest in that!! :-)

Love the idea! I'll be so sad when our trip is over but will love to share the memories with you all. And, I'll probably have questions while we're there too!

For anyone who plans on attending the Holiday Dessert Party:

  • Guests who reserve the Holiday Wishes Dessert Premium Package can check in from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Upon check-in, you will receive an official credential for event identification.
  • Starting at 7:30 PM, Guests will meet at the parade viewing area located by the flag pole in Town Square to see Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which begins at 8:35 PM.
  • After the parade, Guests will be escorted back to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant—the location for both the dessert party and Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks at 10:00 PM.
I admit it. I sometimes call Disney a couple of times for the same question to see how consistent the answers are between different CMs. :rolleyes1 That first item in this list, the part about checking in between 4-7? THAT is when you will get your table and can make requests. So when guests are escorted back to the terrace AFTER the parade, there is not going to be a mad rush and chaos because you'll already have your table by that point. I know people are fence-riding on this and I thought that tidbit could possible help. :-)

I'd love that too! I know I need to talk to someone about it after our trip too and you guys have gotten me spoiled! ;) Its all in the matter of research no matter how long our next trip will be :)

That makes sense and about the same thing I told @Lisa F :) the problem is if you have dining plans outside of MK and won't get in until 5ish or so... Then you're basically on the losing end of table requested...

Edit: if I really do keep it, I would probably hope that I find an earlier BOG!

There is definitely some strategy involved here! lol My goodness...I thought FP strategy was the tricky part!

I can see it being fun to "talk" to each other on here when we're there. A quick pic or question...the SW fireworks are about to start, where are you?! Things like that. :-) I know everyone is going to be absorbed in enjoying their vacations but it would be fun to interact in little ways after all this planning! :-)

I am planning a serious kiddo and me deluxe dining report!

These are on our ever-growing list of things to try! Here's the scoop if you're interested:

Oh my goodness, why haven't I ever stumbled across that website before?!? OH no! I do planning on eating lots of snacks (we're on the deluxe plan, so between 3 of us, we'll have 40+ snacks)... and there goes my plan to loose the baby weight too! ;) But, I'm just so excited to know about that now!

I know! I'm hoping some of us will cross paths while down there!

So..... I found out an amazing thing today (no, not pregnant!). DH comes home with a huge bouquet of roses after playing a round of golf this afternoon. I wasn't quite sure why, but I went along with it. Anyway, back at the 180 day mark, DH created his own MDE profile, and scored us with a V&A reservation for my birthday! WHAT?! And then, he got us a 1 night reservation at the GF! I mean, WHAT?!?! I had a million questions like who will take the girls, and so forth and apparently, it's already sorted out with my parents! They're generously taking them for 2 days! AHH!My mom will stay with them overnight in our room back at the AKL! We haven't had an overnight alone since DD1 was born (almost 3.5 years).

I'm still shaking! I'm so excited and grateful, and I honestly can't wait! Oh my goodness!!!

So awesome!! That sounds like a wonderful escape. What does this to the plans you've been working on? Were your parents always coming?

yeah really thinking of canceling this now . can't do everything. but also just really thinking it kills too much time. and I don't even like dessert that much!

Yes, my parents were always coming. I really thought it was a big deal for us to go to Universal alone, and now this?! I'm just so grateful! Anyway, our plans will change slightly. Our KTTK tour, we cancelled, and we're going to RD MK, and I just found a breakfast at BOG at 9:10. We'll stay through lunch, and then take the girls back to AKL for naps/pool time (weather permitting), and DH will go check in at GF. The following day, we'll take our things back to the AKL and meet up with everyone in Epcot!

And I'm hoping to catch Wishes after V&A.
