***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

@Lisa F I switched my plans to watch MSEP on the 7th too, now! I moved my dxdp to the latter part of my stay and we're heading to MK after dinner at Narcoosee's that day. Where are you planning to watch the parade?

wait, what? lol

I have Narcoossees 5:05pm on 12/7 and then planning to go to the MK. I'm not sure where yet though. It kind of depends when we end up there and what time it is.

edited to add, it's not til 9pm so i assume we'll get to the MK around 7 or so, I am not sure how far in advance we'll need to stake out a spot and whether we'll just do it in frontierland (a bit less crowded) or Main Street (more appropriate). I kind of like to sit right along main street kind of across the street from where casey's is because bathrooms are pretty close to there, lol.

From the current times, I'm pretty sure you would be able to make it. I think someone mentioned it takes only 20-30 mins to walk?? Don't quote me on it but I'm sure it does not take that long to get there. We've taken the boat and it may take a little longer because it stops at 3 hotels. Robo has a lot of great maps to show you how to walk there, you just need to search for the right thread :)
Yes, you can walk it in a half hour easily (I am not a fast walker esp at the end of the day). It's about a half hour on the boat too I think, but that is assuming one is waiting and they don't get too hung up at any of the stops along the way. I may end up doing this myself on either F! or Star Wars night.

Wow, my reservation for Narcoosee's is at 5:25pm! We will see each other there! I also assume we will get there around 7-7:30. Looking at the map now, I'm thinking of waiting somewhere in the hub, close to tomorrowland. My plan is to ride Buzz with FP+ then go stake out a spot by myself and saving a spot for my boys. I'll get DH and DS ride the tomorrowland speedway (with FP+ too) and come find me after. Doable you think?

Its starts at 9 but I am not sure which end it starts from (i'm sure we can find that info). But I think people really start staking out spots at least an hour before if it is busy for parades so I think there is definitely time to do a ride and then find a spot. I think last time I saw it in september by the time I started looking for a spot main street was PACKED and I ended up against the rope at the christmas shop. There is just something about seeing the parades on main street for me... but it is definitely not close to rides or anything. I don't think I will have any FPs that night unless I get a 4th on the fly since we're spending the rest of the day in Epcot. I am planning to try to do the EMH to prime us for staying up late the next day (and we have no parks planned and a 9:30 breakfast at boma before MVMCP the next day).

Parade starts at Main Street. We're spending the morning at EPCOT too but we'll be there first this in the morning and I put in a break for this day so we will be heading back to CR for a nap before dinner. I'm still can't decide whether to make this a late night or just come back in the morning... Decisions...

By the way, did you see Flying Fish will be opening August 3 and they will start taking reservations tomorrow? Are you still thinking of fitting this in? Menu sounds great!

Speaking of planning, planning, planning...

I recently moved a majority of my itinerary around to accommodate a different MVMCP night in fear of missing two non-refundable events including the dessert party pending reviews after all the SouthWest computer issues, bad weather by me that moved my friends JetBlue flight, and the fact that I will traveling in December :o

As a result, I am interested in seeing IllumiNations at another time on my trip, if possible. Being a semi-rookie, I am wondering if this will be doable. I want to try and see IllumiNations after being in HS and viewing the Star Wars fireworks. Now, I know the fireworks have not "officially" been extended, and parties are not released, but if I go off of September information that the show starts 15 minutes after Fanstasmic!, and Fantasmic! is at 7pm in December, that means a possible 7:15pm Star Wars fireworks show and currently scheduled 9:30pm IllumiNations.

Does this seem doable by foot or boat to the Boardwalk and entering through the International Gateway or bus to main entrance?
did they let you change the night of your MVMCP or had you not booked it yet?

I am on the fence about the dessert party still

This is our changeover BWV -> Poly day so the plan is to RD Soarin' and try to do living with the land, then 10am breakfast at Garden Grill. Then around 2-3ish leave epcot and grab the car from BWV and drive over to the Poly. Check in and hope our room is ready and we can get luggage (I think for DVC it is ready after 4, I want to check in at the desk because they give you leis and I want to also advocate for my high floor lake view hoping to see the electrical water pagent and holiday wishes from the room on our last night (the bungalows are in the way on lower floors). Want to freshen up and hop either the monorail or boat to the GF (depending on timing, if we have less time will just take the boat over but if we have time to check out the lobby will take the monorail) and have dinner and then the boat to MK (though we could check out lobby after too). I'll be using the last of my DxDDP credits on Narcoossees - it will probably only be 2 that are left and will pay for the kiddo OOP.

I am making it a late night so that we can shift our schedule to maximize the party the next night.

not planning on FF at this point, I am out of room and don't want to drop anything.

I see, I see... That's good it's relaxed. I'm still shifting my plans around but looking at how to tour a little more seriously now. (basically looking at what would interest my DS2 and maps) I'm having difficulty with timing though. Not sure how long would it take to do a ride, how many rides to fit in even with FP+. If we are doing MK late on the 7th or in the morning of the 8th, I would have to let go of Kona breakfast. Looking at it realistically though, I'd rather let go of a breakfast than lose more park time. Still, it's hard to let go! LOL! The more I look at it though, the more I realize I really do have a lot of dining planned!

I am sad the lights have gone.

I love the planning part and will be sad when that is over too.

I am most looking forward to spending time with my son with no distractions. Sounds hokey but true.

Second to that, I am looking forward Illuminations, MVMCP, MSEP, SW fireworks (are you sensing a theme) and some of our nicer dinners - CA Grill, Narcoossees, Ohana, Coral Reef, Sanaa and Garden Grill and Crystal Palace breakfasts. Doing a lot more than that but those are my tops. Also HDDR.

I love the planning too! Spending time with the kids with no distractions is definitely what I am most looking forward to. It's the best and doesn't happen as often as I would like. Definitely non-hokey as far as I'm concerned. :)

Fortunately I had not purchased party tickets yet! I am still a little hesitant to purchase them until closer to the season. Based on TP last year, the dates this week sold out either 1 or 2 days in advance. I will not wait that long, but with some things still up in the air, I like being able to move it around in my itinerary.

Hopefully the reviews are good! I am just afraid of losing too much party time and not justifying the cost of the dessert party since we are already paying for MVMCP. It would be nice to have a better viewing area for the parade and seated area for Wishes (even though it is on the side), but I am curious how strict those suggested times to meet on the reservation are.

Dining is very important to my group, and I have a lot of ADRs as well. Kona was actually one of our favorite meals on our last trip. so I have an ADR booked at 7:45am before MK opens and one at 9:15am if we want to take it easy (and lose a good 1.5 hours of prime park time). Its very hard to pick what works best sometimes. I just remember our last trip we had many early mornings and late nights. I was fine, but it got to my mom and sister so I try keeping that in mind and am leaning towards that 9:15am breakfast. My only super early morning will have to be HS EMH to get in all our favorite rides.

Buttload of reservations here too. The last thing in flux for me will depend on whether there are SW fireworks w/dessert party saturday night. if there is I will be done. But I am doing 2 sit down meals a day so I have 16 planned or something (7 full days, a dinner arrival night, a breakfast at Kona departure morning). I have so many favorites. Most of my breakfasts are in-park on park days and only out of park on rest days (i have 2). That may change if I can't get the saturday star wars but increasingly hopeful on that one!

My MK days are as follows:

12/7 check into Poly, 5:25 Narcoossees
12/8 9:30 Boma, day off, swim etc 3:30 Ohana, MVMCP
12/9 9:50 Crystal Palace, 1:55 BoG (unsure if I will keep, will just be cupcakes or maybe soup and cupcakes if I do) 6:15 HDDR
12/10 8:00am Kona, drive to airport

Personally, I'm vacillating all over the place with dining. I've been focusing so much on it, because that's the part I can plan right now, that I've about got myself convinced we need to switch to the Deluxe Dining Plan. When we get to the point of being able to schedule Fast Passes, and where I will then place my obsessive tendencies, I'm slightly concerned I'll start thinking I have TOO much dining planned! lol Ay-yi-yi! :)

I'm a little apprehensive about everything because I have no idea how my 2 year old will be... Normally he wakes up before 7 and is good with late nights (usually sleeps 9 or later) as long as he naps in between... At this point, I do not know if he would nap in the stroller or just lose it.. LOL! My plans are all over the place- no break, early-ish nights, break and late nights... I have 2 TS dining per day mostly- I have 1 day with 3 TS meals. :P I know we need to eat and I know we're not normally fans of QS... But the more I look at my plans, the more confused I get... LOL!

LOL, I did the same thing and switched from 3 nights of DxDP to 6 nights!!! I focused a lot on dining the last 2 months and I'm starting to look at planning FPs and touring now ... and man, am I confused! I need to find a good balance... I wish it were simple. But I guess this is the joy of planning! :)

I worry I might but I don't think wiht breakfast (we both LOVE breakfast) and dinner it is too much. If it was lunch and dinner every day that might be too much. I have spaced my meals at least 6 hours apart with few exceptions. I like the break of sitting down to eat and I hate QS. There i said it out loud. It is very difficult as a single mom with an ADHD kid to navigate all that. I feel really good about my dining plan and how it works iwth the flow of our vacation, which is why I am very hesitant to throw one more thing in. I have posted it before but can post again at some point when it is finalized. I think my flow is good with enough flexibility in between meals.

LOL! My DH and I aren't big breakfasts people but for this trip, I'm doing quite a bit of breakfasts... which is why I'm trying to cut down... I wonder now whether I should cut some out... I do hate QS too but it seems easier to pick up breakfast from QS than lunch or dinner.

I prefer buffet/family style for breakfast and regular table service for dinner so for the most part we are using the breakfasts for the character meals. I am only doing one character dinner (H&V seasonal dine) and the rest are all breakfast... Tusker House, Garden Grill, Crystal palace, Boma, Ohana. I only don't have breakfast planned for two days and both of those I have very early lunches - 11:15 at Sci Fi and 11:35 at Coral Reef with CP package. Both of those days we will use snack credits - starring rolls one day and Boardwalk Bakery one day (maybe even obtained the day before and eaten in the room).

I seriously eat breakfast for dinner a lot when I am tired (eggs and whatever meat I have with some toast or sometimes without). I am really looking forward to all of my breakfasts, lol. Except for Cape May as my backup but I think that is just because I like my other choices BETTER, not that Cape May is bad. I just don't want to give up la hacienda and an opening time ADR at Coral Reef (better chance of getting table near the tank) for it).

The only thing I am unsure about is my last day. 9:50 CP breakfast, 1:55 BoG "lunch" where we may just get cupcakes (seems like a lot of effort and I don't even like cupcakes much - I am kind of leaning toward forgoing this and just snacking between meals given how long check in times can be at this place - I don't want to wait longer to get into here than at attractions... but not canceling it just yet) and then 6:15 HDDR. We'll prob have to eat between breakfast and dinner but there are plenty of snacks at MK we can get so not worried about starving or anything.
