***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

@Candycane83 and @Lisa F and @BDFmom and @ALL others suffering from this affliction that seems to take over all sense of reason and sense of time: Oh how I wish I could help, but you'll need to help yourselves! You see, I've been upgraded to If/Then Planomania, or Contingency Planomania as it is sometimes called. Examples to look out for to determine if you're advancing into the latter stages:
*IF I can get an earlier BOG dinner THEN we can do the Pirates and Pals Cruise.
*IF RoL is not happening, THEN we could do X, Y or Z; IF RoL is happening, THEN we will do A, B or C.
*IF I cannot get 'Ohana for X date, THEN I will switch parks, switch ADRs and FastPasses, THEN we will eat at such and such and do this or that.
*IF I just added a few more days THEN we could fit in so much more!!
*IF I quit my job and MOVED to Orlando, THEN we could be AP holders and I wouldn't struggle so much!!

LOL :) It's not quite THAT bad. Well, mostly it's not that bad. Okay, so it got that bad for a while but I'm sloooooowly recovering. Sanity is a great thing! :)

In all seriousness, it's really great to talk to others who are also simply trying to make the very most out of their precious vacation time with their families. It's nice knowing I'm not alone in my ways! Planomaniacs Unite!!

Please someone stop me.... help me! Disney Planomania has me in it's grips! (Love that phrase @Talby )

I have just discovered specially cruises for Wishes or Illuminations... a private pontoon boat for 8 or 10ppl for ~$370. They include refreshments and light snacks. The cruise is booked for 1.5 hours.

The descriptions sounds amazing and incredible views of the Fireworks .

Now... I need to find a cruise to share...

Had anyone done this or be interested on nights between 11/26 to 12/5 (except 11/29 and 12/1)?

This is actually a better budget alternative to the SW dessert party.
I did this for illuminations a few years back. It was great. This would be an awesome choice and the views were great.

I thought about posting something similar. I might be interested for 12/4 (sunday) but I only have two (one adult/one kid). POSSIBLY the 5th as well if the SW dessert party is available on 12/3.

I did it in 1998. So 18 years ago. I LOVE the international gateway bridge view, it is one of my favorites. No way I can justify that much for just the two of us though.
do any of the days that work for me work for you with your plans as they are?

There is availability 11/26.... 12/2... nothing for 12/4 or 12/5

12/3 is my planed AK day... I was trying to keep it open for possible ROL. *Sigh*

It would have been the 4th too but I still need to be able to cancel my plans just in case some personal business does not fall through and we would need to postpone our trip. Oh well... seems like as per BDFMom, there's no availability on the 4th anyway.

I posed this question on another December thread, but I would love to know thoughts of everyone here as well...

What are you most looking forward to about your upcoming vacation? I know that's nearly impossible to answer as there are so many wonderful things to be excited about, and just spending time with family/loved ones in and of itself is awesome. But what are you just a bit extra-extra excited about that perhaps stands out somewhat for you in terms of your "I'm-so-excited-about-it" level? An ADR, character, event, tour, party--just whatever that might be for you?

I'm looking forward to not planning it anymore!

Seriously.... everything! I can't pick one thing

This is our first trip since 2007... before that we went every other year.

This will be the last trip that both my kids are under 18... DD17 and DS14

I guess I'm most excited about the smiles and memories that this trip will bring my kids.

I think for me its going to be watching my daughter meet Princess Anna, her favorite princess of all time! Of course the other princesses are going to be cool as well. That's the big one for me. I think the Star Wars Fireworks party is another big one, and just watching DH and DD as it's their first time at Disney. I think also for me (this may sound silly) but seeing the Enchanted TIki room again. I always loved that attraction and so it's nostalgia for me :) There's loads more but those are the big ones I think.

Thanks to all of you guys (in a nice way), I just booked the cruise to surprise my whole family. I have them decorating to celebrate my moms birthday and will order a cake to go on board. We are still debating to do MVMCP and I am still trying to get a CRT for my mom. Other then that we are all set until FP time. I love hearing all your guys plans and decision making processes.

I think for me, I am most looking forward to seeing everything through my son's eyes. It'll be his first trip so it'll be different from the last time we have gone in 2012. :) I am looking forward to everything though, would really love to see all the xmas decors, holidays around the world and all the nighttime shows! It's really too bad the Osborne lights are gone. I think my son would have loved that!

Does your daughter watch Elena of Avalor? I just saw the first episode last weekend, seems like something little girls would love!

I am sad the lights have gone.

I love the planning part and will be sad when that is over too.

I am most looking forward to spending time with my son with no distractions. Sounds hokey but true.

Second to that, I am looking forward Illuminations, MVMCP, MSEP, SW fireworks (are you sensing a theme) and some of our nicer dinners - CA Grill, Narcoossees, Ohana, Coral Reef, Sanaa and Garden Grill and Crystal Palace breakfasts. Doing a lot more than that but those are my tops. Also HDDR.

LOL, yes, the trend is all the nighttime shows! I'm looking forward to all the meals too as I have planned mostly around that! Although with Disney, I feel that the food would really be secondary to the atmosphere. Really looking forward to the Christmas-y feel everywhere though. I feel no one does Christmas like Disney! :)

Update....

I have booked a pontoon for Wishes on 11/26, our arrival night. We land at 3pm.
My DD wanted Wishes over Illuminations.

I have room for 5 more on the boat if that night works for any one. The boat leaves from the contemporary at 9:30....

First stay at YC which is our first EPCOT resort, hopefully if the weather cooperates swimming in SB, evening festivities at AK, seeing CP again, attending MVMCP again, seeing resort decorations again, the new Soarin', plus eating at our favorite restaurants and trying a few new or going to ones we haven't been to in a while.

Nope. We cut our cable a few years ago and so we only have Netflix and other streaming stuff (which is mostly for me and DH like Game of Thrones :)) We aren't around enough to watch TV and we didn't find we missed it. We borrow DVDs from the library if we want to see movies. We find it helps cut down on screen time as well for all of us. I am curious about it though. But we've got enough princess stuff on the go - we basically planned this whole trip based on the FEA ride and so we are going to stay focussed on that! LOL. Interestingly I showed DD the Moana trailer which I thought was great but she wasn't interested at all.

Aw we don't arrive until Dec 2 (late), so unfortunately cannot join. It sounds like a blast though!

Okay so yesterday was my fiance's birthday and I told him about our surprise trip as part of his gift (the other part is a PlayStation 4 that I split with his mother, because I know you were so curious). He is so excited! and I am so excited I can actually talk about it with him now!! Buuuut, he has opinions, you guys! Lots of them! And wants to change plans that I've had made for the past 3 months! I even showed him my spreadsheet. I suppose I should compromise with him a bit, you know, since it's his surprise trip and all.

He wants to do a day at Universal but I just don't think that makes sense financially for this short trip. We've been before, two years ago right after Diagon Alley opened, so as much as I would love to go back, I really think we should stick to WDW this time.

He also suggested we don't do AK at all and just do MK and EPCOT this trip (weren't planning on HS anyway). So maybe we'll do 2 MK days and 2 EP days, I would be fine with that.

Ahhhh, so much more to think of now that I have another's opinions to consider :)

We moved our flight to Saturday! We're still trying to decide if we'll stay near the airport or fork over the $$ to stay on property. Anxiously awaiting the release of the next round of discounts to hopefully help us decide. :)
