***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I read somewhere that the starwars party is only 200 people. I wonder how many people are in the wishes parties? it is a teeny fraction of the total admission so I'm not sure it necessarily correlates to overall crowds.
They just reduced the SW parties to 125 per the SW thread.

Not sure this is a good thing? I still can't over the fact that the Wishes Holiday Dessert Party may be sold out on a Tue and Thu for the 2nd week of December but not Sun and Fri.

We're all going to be scrambling to get our reservations in October/ November :faint:

I mean, less people means it will be really amazing but now I'm really stressing out!

Couldn't agree more. I'm happy for fewer people, but it does mean we need to get it booked pretty much the day it's released. I'm not 100% sure we'll be able to afford it, but I'll have to book it right away and just cancel later if need be.

I know I may be asking a stupid question but does anyone have an idea of how and when Disney releases dates on the SW Dessert Party? Do they do it in blocks or just whenever they feel like it? I'm not sure it will be announced?

It won't be announced, but if you go over to the SW thread and subscribe to that, you'll be among the first to know! They've been releasing dates about a month at a time and doing so about 2 weeks before the start of that month. So we just got SW parties released for August this week. If the pattern continues, we can expect to know more about December in mid-November.

Yup I think booking immediately is a must. I think I saw someone in the SW thread say their day was all out after 12 hours of being released yesterday. :scared1:

Thanks. Yeah, I just noticed that there are dates posted through Sep 5 which wasn't the case a few days ago. So they're listing dates for Hallowishes, Holiday Wishes and Illuminations Dessert Parties but not the SW Dessert Party? Is it too much to hope for any consistency? :rolleyes2

It's consistent with AK dining package which stops Sep 5 too.:duck:

If that is the case, then this is ridiculous. I don't care about Disney having special events and raising prices. They're a business and that just doesn't bother me but stuff like this does. So you can make FP at 60 but you can't book this before then? For a company that kind of forces you to make plans ahead and then not to make an extremely popular event like this available until virtually last minute, in Disney planning time, irks me. They can't have these dates available at least 3 months ahead? Even that would be reasonable. I already had to change my plans once for the MVMCP because the dessert party wasn't available for the night I planned to do the party. It's a good thing, I waited a bit on MVMCP tickets. I'm wondering if they will have FP for this event because maybe I'll consider that.

Probably. I think we just have to be vigillent and keep checking. I don't trust the notifications stuff as it seems inconsistent.

As much as I'd like to fuss and tweak my plans, I don't think I can do the Christmas party. The 6th would be the only day possible to do it which would mean cancelling our reservation for DD at the Sandcastle club (and then us losing our date night exploring WS). The other thing is I read they are not doing the pirate cruises anymore (changing them to pirate camps) but I'm not sure if that's true. If it is, DD won't want to do the pirate camp and so the timing would be perfect as then we'd have a quiet morning on the 7th. Is the 6th sold out for sure?

Everyone does not know why they are only releasing one month at a time and I'm pretty sure a lot of people have voiced their displeasure on this.
On the other hand, I read that the reason why the number reduced to 125 is because of the new set up wherein which the dessert party is inside the Launch Bay and limits the space. They did this so there's more space outside for non-dessert party people to watch the show I think. Roped off area for party guests is less now that tables are all inside.

Nope, it's not sold out. Still available for the 6th. The dessert party seems to be unavailable but party itself is available

Under those circumstances I totally understand why they've reduced the attendance. If I can't get the dessert party, I would be very interested in FP for this at least once. That too, may be virtually impossible. It has been for FOF in the past. Hopefully at 60 days, there's a shot.

I also tried the 6th for the dessert party. Tues would have been perfect plus I would have received a discount on MVMCP tix. Surprisingly, no luck!

Dessert party is non refundable? I was thinking of getting tix as insurance. But something tells me it's non refundable

Party ticket for Christmas party is non refundable (I have not bought my tickets yet) but the dessert party is refundable if you cancel at least 5days before.
