***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I read another thread where it says that wait times are pretty much better than it was before for TSMM. Hopefully this will be until we get there and not just for now...
Yes! I was hoping to go right to TSMM when the park opened, ride until the wait got bad with that new third track helping the bottleneck, and come back later with a FP+. If not, I will just do Rock N Roller early and ride TSMM with the FP+ one time :(

That sounds like a good plan @PolyRob . We're doing a PPO breakfast at Hollywood and Vine. The only reason we did that is because we wanted to sign up for Jedi training - I figure better to be in the park eating breakfast at 8:10am than standing outside waiting for RD (which is what is being recommended if you want Jedi training - get there 45 mins before RD). If this event happens I'm guessing this strategy may or may not work. I don't really care about TSMM and neither does my family but everyone says it's great so I want to try it.

Honestly I'm surprised they didn't roll this out at Epcot first as a Frozen early morning event.

I think they have not rolled out EPCOT yet because Frozen is still not working well enough to ensure guests won't riot if the ride goes down during a paid event. :)

Hmm, the thread I read actually says that people were able to get TSMM as 4th fastpass but not the Rock n Roller.... They also said that waits were more manageable for TSMM compared to RnR so people were actually suggesting to FP RnR and just do TSMM standby/ get it as a 4th FP. I don't know if it's because they didn't distribute all the FPs when the third track became operational. I think we will only be able to tell once summer ends if the waits will really be more manageable.

Hopefully that plan will still work! I am unfamiliar with the Jedi training, but the minimal amount of attractions included may make this ticketed event undesirable for the price tag.

I am probably just partial to Toy Story, but I really do love that ride and it's interactivity! 1000x better than Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (Plus I like Woody better than Buzz :) )

I agree 100% Disney is probably very sad they had to give out free snacks while the ride broke down rather than charging $69/59 per person for the same snacks and 75 minute early access to the ride!

This is very interesting news! I had waited in standby and done TSMM with FP+ prior to the third track opening. RnR was virtually open all day in May, even when I modified FP+ day of! Good call on waiting until the end of summer for a better determination.

sorry old terminology lol. EE was early entry back in the day. now it is extra magic hours, morning and evening. oy :)

$69 for at most 3 more rides and breakfast? nope.

I agree! I tried to justify it thinking it was like a character breakfast with a premium, but two rides (one of which made me nauseous) plus three meet and greets for only a few hours and a breakfast that isn't guaranteed does not seem tempting (for me at least either).

well I was being slightly sarcastic and saying in an hour you could do two rides. 3 maybe and a meet and greet. maybe. plus beat the rope droppers for one more. no thank you. the only place I might MAYBE consider it is Epcot due to the tiering FP system but i'd have to give up one of my other plans to do it so probably not. But if you could get all of the tier 1s done multiple times in an hour it might be worth it.

I am sad that Disney is just seeming to cash grab....I mean technically the SW dessert party is a cash grab too but to me with the food, and it now being in Launch bay, to me it's worth it. I guess some people will find this worth it as well. Disney is a corporation at the end of the day.

That being said, if they offered a Froway early morning package at epcot, I would probably buy it.

if people don't find it worth it then they will discontinue it. Disney has always been a big cash grab, it's just a matter of how far they push the boundaries of what they can charge for :) I don't think in a half empty park with only one ride that has any kind of a wait that this thing is going to fly. JMHO

I agree but I guess if I had a kid that was crazy for Toy Story and i wanted a jump on Jedi training without having to eat at Hollywood and Vine then it might be worth it. Apparantly the lines for Woody and Buzz get pretty long. I am grateful my daughter isn't interested in Toy Story though DH and I like it (but not enough to wait for characters). Its supposedly easy to meet the green army men too which would be cool.

I'm also grateful for the Star Wars dessert party. I know my daughter isn't going to be as into SW as I am so while we're there I can geek out in Launch bay and meet Kylo Ren and then DH and I can switch off (letting my daughter eat cupcakes and hang out with other kids). And that way I think I can structure HS with a break...early breakfast with early SW sign up for Jedi training (going to try for a morning slot), rides, shows, quick bite for lunch, then back to BC for some rest and maybe pool, head back at 3:30pm to get to 50s prime time diner, more rides until Star Wars. I think they let you in at 8pm so lots of time to go on a ride or shows. I'm going to schedule 2 fp for morning and 1 for afternoon to cover us. I'm thinking of using tier 1 for RnR since Toy story seems better with 3rd track plus RnR is a higher priority ride for us.

Looks like they posted someone on Disney site about the SW dessert party and looks like it'll open to Sep 5 today... was hoping it'll open until Dec but looks like that's unlikely...

By the way @Lisa F looks like the Wishes dessert party is sold out for our party date (Dec 8)?!? Wondering if it'll be that busy!?

That seems weird because that isn't supposed to be a busy day (right?). I would keep trying or call. I think it might be a system glitch. I checked the 6th too and got the same error message....

I actually have already reserved it but am checking for BoG dinner availability (none). Just noticed that wishes dessert party was appearing for Dec 9 and 11 (I was checking for SW dessert party and have MK and DHS in my filter) but not Dec 8...

Hi. My name is dreaminginplaid and I have a Disney planning obsession!

Hi dreaminginplaid. Welcome to Obsessive Disney Planners Anonymous or ODPA for short. In this group we acknowledge we have a problem but instead of trying to help each other quit, we enable one another and it's fantastic. :scared::joker::rotfl2:

I've been gone for a while, wasn't getting alerts and was semi consciously staying away because every time I read these I convince myself I NEED to do just one more thing lol. But I thought your comment was hilarious and I know it was like last week so I felt the need to explain why I'm only now commenting on it lol.

Okay, I admit I went a little Disney-crazy when I saw that there was availability for Akershus in the first week of December. This is my first trip booking more than 1 ADR :-P

I booked 2 ADRs and 1) I'm going with my 10-year-old nephew and 2) I'd rather book the EMM events and/or dessert parties. I'll post here first, but if no one is interested I'll post later on the December ADR thread. I have these to cancel:

Reservations for 3 at Akershus
  • 2:25 PM - Princess Storybook Dining LUNCH
  • 5:35 PM - Princess Storybook Dining DINNER

waiting too.... was laughing on the SW thread where people are begging Disney to take their money already!
