***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

did you see that rumor where someone said that they had held auditions for equity dancers for the jungle book show with a contract that would start August and typically contracts run 6 months? That seems kind of plausible to me but I wish if Disney were about to sign 6 month contracts that they would let us know so we can make our plans :P I know it doesn't work that way though.

I agree, AK is not my favorite park and we have to drive there from BWV. It might just be best to take RoL off the table and focus on the stuff that is there and known to be good. I think you are right that even if they can launch it in the fall chances are good that they will continue having to work out technical glitches. I remember when Illuminations first launched and the torch didn't light most of the time - that is a minor thing and doesn't really ruin the show in any way but it is not unprecedented for there to be technical glitches even after the show goes live. Sometimes I feel like there are some things they just CAN'T work out without it being live and in a real life situation. Or maybe I am just sour grapesing a little bit. Maybe by the next time I go Avatar land will be launched and RoL will have the kinks worked out and I won't be able to afford any of it, lol.

The reviews for the dessert party with the new fireworks have been awesome. Even Kenny the Pirate, who pretty much thinks every dessert party is a waste of money thinks this one is worth it between the better food (sweet and savory) and better drinks (hard booze) and the necessity of a front and center viewing area for the fireworks. The only things in question IMO is whether they will have them every day (the old SW fireworks show was not) and whether they will extend park hours a bit to have them (right now HS is closing every day at 7pm. Last year they had two F! shows in early december, one at 7 and one at 8:30 with an 8pm close. That said since then they've closed half of HS so it might not be worth it to keep it open that late and how moving the food portion of the party indoors will play out. Honestly I think that is a good thing, it probably allows them to control things better and can only help quality - they might add some characters walking around or something and then you go outside 15 minutes before the show and get your awesome spot. If I am going to sit with no chairs I'd rather do it on carpet against a wall than under a tall table guarding my fireworks spot. So honestly I think even if RoL does go off I am very very tempted to replace it with this if and when they announce it. Again, I'm hoping even if it's not every day that saturday is a very likely day.

Yes! That rumor coupled with some people stating they know CMs or Imagineers stating the problems still exist make me want to search for a package less and less! lol

I was thinking the same thing! I can skip it this time, and do it the next time if the kinks are not all worked out. I like the Safari, Expedition Everest, and Lion King. River Rapids are fun, but I do not want to be soaked in December. Besides that, I do not know what I will do to sustain a whole day! And since sunset is so early, I assume the show will be early like Fantasmic! so hopping would feel very rushed (IMO).

I briefly saw the review mentioned somewhere, I will have to look! I remember seeing his Hallowishes party review and it made me reconsider the MVMCP Holiday Dessert Party. I do think it will help alleviate some major crowds for the parade and Wishes (even though it will be off center). I have it booked and am still going to do it, unless the reviews are absolutely horrible.

The HS hours are so bizarre to me right now as well! Mama Melrose is also only open until 3pm? Something must be going on in that courtyard that we are not privy to... yet! I have my Fantasmic! lunch booked there as soon as it opens, and then Sci-Fi dinner, and then the only Fantasmic! show of the night. Adding another night to our trip just would not work with our schedules (unfortunately) so having AK in the morning with 3 FP+, lunch in AK, and then nothing major until the SW party could work well! My day for this would be a Saturday, so hopefully Star Wars is showing then! Back in May I believe it was only shown on Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri except for Memorial Day weekend. Only time will tell. Worst case scenario, I do not have to decide between Spice Road Table and La Hacienda to view IllumiNations with dinner. I will do just have two Epcot nights instead of RoL and Star Wars! :)

I booked two CP packages today. One for our first night (4:40 Coral Reef -- 8:15 show) and Dec 8th, Via Napoli (2:10 --- 6:45pm show). My parents won't get to WDW till the 1st, so we'll do this twice!

I'm so tempted to watch on youtube, but I must resist the temptation and be surprised!

I currently have the wishes party booked but am considering canceling it - I am waiting to see how the Hallowishes parties go because I expect they will be much the same. I would be seriously bummed if there were no star wars fireworks on Saturday night because it is the only night I can really work it into my plans without disrupting other stuff... unless they seriously extend hours Sunday as well and have the party starting at 7:30 or so, then I could probably fit it in with my CA Grill reservation (though would not be hungry) on Sunday.

OR after the 5pm CP on Monday, which might end up being my best bet for getting there by 7 or so. if the party starts at 7 even. 6 would be awfully early, wouldn't it? lol

Wasn't there a Frozen Dessert party last year? Was this during xmas time? Maybe we could check out the timing of that?
ETA: Nevermind, it was to view the lights last year... :P

Okay, I'm working on our Epcot day. After reading about Epcot fastpass tiers, etc...I decided to add another Epcot day. So...here's my question. Touringplans isn't having me RD Royal Sommerhus at all...it's constantly suggesting I go in the early evening when we come back from nap. When I force it to evaluate my plan with us doing it at RD, the wait is 35 min, but when it suggests us doing it early evening, the wait is 47 min. I know it takes lots of other things into consideration and suggests the best way to fit all our choices in with minimal wait/walking, but....I'm nervous NOT running to Royal Sommerhus right at RD. I'm worried if we wait, then the wait for that will be an hour or TWO by evening! Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Is Royal Sommerhaus to meet the princesses? If so Ive read it's an average of 30 mins wait and I've also read a few posters say that it's quieter in the afternoon. Mornings have the longest waits? Not sure how that would change over time though. Are you going to meet Baymax/ Joy and Sadness too? That line seems to be longer now?

Okay, that explains that a bit. Yes, I do want to meet J&S and Baymax (WE HAVE TO MEET BAYMAX...that's non-negotiable). Lines for those are longer? I'm so surprised by this...I expected Anna/Elsa lines to be at least an hour!

From what I'm reading, Baymax is a little shorter but J&S is long. People say RD is best time to go if you're not going for rides like Soarin. Hmm, about Anna and Elsa, it's weird but it's mostly half an hour throughout the day. They said they have 3 rooms with 3 sets of sisters so maybe that's why the line moves quicker. Don't know if this will change but this part seems to be work well for now. :)

Well, that's great news. I read something about 3 rooms, but didn't know if I understood that correctly or not. 3 sets of sisters definitely help! I was worried when I found out they weren't doing FP for them, but it sounds like they have it under control.

As far as I know, Baymax and J&S do not have FP...is that correct from what y'all understand?

Yup! I plan to RD this one too or go as early as I can anyway. :)

Hmm... I just saw another thread regarding the Wishes Dessert Party that said right now there are 2 types of (regular) Wishes Dessert Party, one at Tomorrowland Terrace and one at Plaza Gardens Viewing... I have more doubts about the Holiday one now especially since I re-read the know before you go section that says 'After the parade, Guests will be escorted back to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant—the location for both the dessert party and Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks at 10:00 PM'

OMG I have been playing with my plans ALL DAY trying to come up with a backup in case there are no star wars fireworks on Saturday night (Monday is the only other night I can work it in). I literally want to cancel everything and start from scratch lol. Or pull out my hair!

OH. MY. WORD. I actually go to sleep early and this is what happens!!!!!! Good gracious. I just woke up an hour ago, and, of course...with my HUGE party of 9....hardly anything is available. I did get San Angel Inn (which I have eaten in before and do like), but I really wanted to use my 2 TS for a restaurant I REALLY wanted. Akershus or Garden Grill (Yeah...NOTHING for those), or even Rose & Crown. (Again...nothing). How in the world does this system work? I can't find out my showtime until I go to book a table time? I really really don't like it. They need a system with checkboxes...check all the restaurants you want, check the showtime you want, even if you want to narrow down a table time....but no. They have to make it complicated. :( I really am grateful I got something...and at a place I do like. Just not sure it's worth my 2 TS credits.

I am on vacation and had planned to check every day as I had a feeling it would come out soon. I had trouble booking online but called and got Chefs for dinner on 12/2 and the 8:15 pm show.

For anyone interested, there is availability for GG for some days now. I saw 12/9 and I saw someone else say they got 12/12

So, here's another question.

I finally found Hollywood & Vine for Minnie's character dinner for 8 people. BUT....my party is 9 people. If I hold one of my 4 year old twins in my lap....do you think they would seat us as a party of 8? Or do you think they would turn us away?
