***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

you are planning a lot of character meals, lol (so am I) many of which I'm not familiar with. We really liked ohana breakfast when we went - it was hot and fresh and good but nothing spectacularly interesting. Prime time is good comfort food. I found Kona's sushi a disappointment after CA Grill's but their food is very good and others really like their sushi so maybe it was an off night (we also had a grumpy waiter). Nothing you're trying is super gourmet so basically right temperature, fresh and tasty is probably going to be the goal ;) I find disney food to be pretty good though in general, but i think every restaurant has off days and of course when they do, you hear about it.
Honestly I think disney fancy (food wise) does not really translate to fancy in the outside world... I love disney but judging solely on food, I would say its good but mostly nothing truly extraordinary. :duck:Personal opinion, don't kick me out please ;)

Just got a lunch reservation for Candlelight at San Angel. We wanted Garden Grill but nothing is coming up there - maybe they aren't all loaded yet? I'll keep checking (of course!) but I had to grab something! Our date is Neil Patrick Harris!

Just came to say I was also able to get my CP lunch at Teppan Edo. After searching the same reservation numerous times, I FINALLY got an early show that would not overlap my La Hacienda dinner for IllumiNations! It was very frustrating that I could not select the time and only knew which show I had once I was about to actually reserve the table!

Now the painful wait for RoL and my dining is complete! If that falls through I will either use my current Epcot dinner, do another MVMCP, or possibly the new Star Wars dessert party? Guess my trip planning still has some fine tuning ahaha

I finally go to bed early and what happens? BOOOO. luckily a friend of mine sent me a message overnight and i've been trying for the last 40 minutes to make a reservation. I watched the times i wanted disappear :( because it woudn't give me the early show. First I tried to rebook 2:30 and I think that at exactly 2.5 hours before the show it kicks you to the next show. Then tried rebooking early to see if it would give me 5pm show at all and it did if I booked at like 11:35. then I tried to get something as close to 2:30 as possible for like a half hour and it kept giving me the 8:15 show. I made up a second account just to check times so it wouldn't affect my reservations and I could get up to 2:15 with 5pm but I didn't book it there and then coudln't get it on my own account, still 8:15. I watched 2:15, 2pm, 1:50, 1:40 disappear as options. I finally made 1:35 and I moved my breakfast back from 9:05 at cape may to 8:35. I mean, I guess I should not complain - it is within an hour of what I wanted... just frustrated! I guess I can keep checking for cancellations but hardly seems worth it :-p I've got 5 hours in between breakfast and lunch and it might give us the opportunity to do a light oop dinner at Tangierine Cafe, my favorite CS in epcot, later in the day. Just frustrating because I saw what I wanted but the system would not give it to me right :-p

I'm half wondering if I should do the 11:35 and maybe do a dinner later instead of the cape may breakfast. then I can just hit epcot at RD. but I was kind of hoping to keep that day open for fireworks at HS although even the 5pm show would be a little bit tough I think to fit it all in unless the fireworks party didn't start until 7.

Originally I had envisioned a very early coral reef right when they open to ask for a table by the tank. maybe i should take that 11:35. Which of course is gone but now it is 11:40. AND it is letting me hold both that and the 1:30 for the 5pm show now. I don't get this stupid system.

maybe instead of cape may breakfast (which was just filler anyway lol) we should do boardwalk bakery breakfast and burn some snack credits, early lunch at Coral Reef and then dinner at another epcot restaurant. but where? :P

that might be a good time to do flying fish and then we can come back for illuminations.

I'm kind of hoping it falls through so i can fit in the star wars dessert party instead :-p otherwise I am going to have to make a choice!

I have heard great things about Boardwalk Bakery! If you really wanted Coral Reef, maybe that is the best way to go! Tangierine Cafe would provide you flexibility and that menu looked great! I was going to try it out in May, but ended up going with Spice Road Table instead.

Same! Based on so many other rumors and threads I am very doubtful it will open and be running smoothly by December. OR a new date will be set and it will open with a lot of defects since Disney would receive so much flack cancelling an opening twice OR it will be announced that it is opening super late into the fall since Disney would not want to have to cancel the opening again. I like being able to plan and have everything fall into place well in advance, especially when you need to pick dining at 180+. I still need to purchase MVMCP and La Nouba tickets. If I do not hear anything sometime soon, I will make my other plans and do not want to try accommodating a rushed show in place of non-refundable events.

Having the extra night will actually provide us more flexibility and put my mind at ease about transportation. We are staying at the Grand Floridian and going to AK for daytime events, a ticketed meal, and unknown showtime with mediocre night events (based on current reviews) to one of the furthest bussed resorts does not sit well with me. While we love Fantasmic! and the seated RoL show does sound great, I do not want to fall into the uncertain waiting game I played earlier in the year for my May trip!

I saw Symphony in the Stars after Fantasmic! back in May and it was great! If it is going to be impossible to see both the new Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular with Fantasmic! as some calendars are pointing too, I would love to have a designated night for it! Waiting on reviews of the new dessert party and another ADR window I guess to make the final determination :)

OH. MY. WORD. I actually go to sleep early and this is what happens!!!!!! Good gracious. I just woke up an hour ago, and, of course...with my HUGE party of 9....hardly anything is available. I did get San Angel Inn (which I have eaten in before and do like), but I really wanted to use my 2 TS for a restaurant I REALLY wanted. Akershus or Garden Grill (Yeah...NOTHING for those), or even Rose & Crown. (Again...nothing). How in the world does this system work? I can't find out my showtime until I go to book a table time? I really really don't like it. They need a system with checkboxes...check all the restaurants you want, check the showtime you want, even if you want to narrow down a table time....but no. They have to make it complicated. :( I really am grateful I got something...and at a place I do like. Just not sure it's worth my 2 TS credits.

Yes... no GG and Akershus (Breakfast, lunch or dinner!)... I've been checking every 2 mins even if today's a veyr busy day at work :P

I did the same thing. Took myself to bed at 10pm and i woke up at 5am to pee and had a message from a friend who knew I was looking for CP that read it opened last night. she sent it to me around 11pm when I am ALWAYS up. ALWAYS. I didn't even get more sleep because I was up so early!

LOL, I woke up at 4am and didn't see any touring plans alert for availability to went back to bed until 6... then panic set in

Has anyone been able to book a reservation for Hoop De Do Revue. I have checked the first week of December for my trip and the third week December for a cousin's trip. I was out of luck booking for any day any show both weeks.
We are going to HDDR on 12/9 for the 6:15 show. Long time Disney visitor here, and I've never been. Looking forward to it. I bet you'll be able to get a spot!

did you see that rumor where someone said that they had held auditions for equity dancers for the jungle book show with a contract that would start August and typically contracts run 6 months? That seems kind of plausible to me but I wish if Disney were about to sign 6 month contracts that they would let us know so we can make our plans :P I know it doesn't work that way though.

I agree, AK is not my favorite park and we have to drive there from BWV. It might just be best to take RoL off the table and focus on the stuff that is there and known to be good. I think you are right that even if they can launch it in the fall chances are good that they will continue having to work out technical glitches. I remember when Illuminations first launched and the torch didn't light most of the time - that is a minor thing and doesn't really ruin the show in any way but it is not unprecedented for there to be technical glitches even after the show goes live. Sometimes I feel like there are some things they just CAN'T work out without it being live and in a real life situation. Or maybe I am just sour grapesing a little bit. Maybe by the next time I go Avatar land will be launched and RoL will have the kinks worked out and I won't be able to afford any of it, lol.

The reviews for the dessert party with the new fireworks have been awesome. Even Kenny the Pirate, who pretty much thinks every dessert party is a waste of money thinks this one is worth it between the better food (sweet and savory) and better drinks (hard booze) and the necessity of a front and center viewing area for the fireworks. The only things in question IMO is whether they will have them every day (the old SW fireworks show was not) and whether they will extend park hours a bit to have them (right now HS is closing every day at 7pm. Last year they had two F! shows in early december, one at 7 and one at 8:30 with an 8pm close. That said since then they've closed half of HS so it might not be worth it to keep it open that late and how moving the food portion of the party indoors will play out. Honestly I think that is a good thing, it probably allows them to control things better and can only help quality - they might add some characters walking around or something and then you go outside 15 minutes before the show and get your awesome spot. If I am going to sit with no chairs I'd rather do it on carpet against a wall than under a tall table guarding my fireworks spot. So honestly I think even if RoL does go off I am very very tempted to replace it with this if and when they announce it. Again, I'm hoping even if it's not every day that saturday is a very likely day.

i got coral reef at 4:05 on december 1st.
Excited about the 1st, disappointed i couldn't get Via Napoli, Garden Grill or Teppen Edo though : (

Neil Patrick Harris!!! Oh how I envy you!

I saw NPH years and years ago (like maybe 1999 or 2000, around then). I'm not sure why he is THE one to have, lol. But yes he was good! just a lot younger (weren't we all?) I have also seen Gary Sinese and Edward James Olmos, so I feel like I've seen the biggies. Not sure who will be there for 12/5 - we're just missing whoopi. I'm not sure it matters all that much to me to be perfectly honest!

I think there is a lot of CR availability. not sure why. It seems like the super popular ones they did not hold back a lot of inventory (Via Napoli or Akershus, both of which are tough to book regardless)
