***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

how old is she? in 2014 I took my then 6 year old. waiting is very very hard for him. we did great and he loves disney. Some queues are better than others and disney has been making them more tolerable to be in. the most INtolerable were character m&g lines. My kiddo LOVED the character meals though. Also he has a tough time sitting in his seat for very long and when characters come around there is lots of opportunity for him to be out of it (and also walking to buffet etc even though I prefer family style and to sit my fat butt down to be served). Just be flexible and willing to abandon something with a long wait for something with a short one. that time of year there will be plenty. It's not really "learning patience" as much as a maturity thing and my kiddo has ADHD as well. With planning it is really not a problem though!
She's 6 but will be almost 7 by the time we go to WDW. I'm hoping with the Character meals we'll get everyone we need to and RD the rest (e.g. Joy and Sadness, Chewie and Kylo). For Princess Fairytale Hall we'll get FP (there go 2 FP for MK :sad2:

who you need and who she needs might be two different things. my advice? be prepared to "let it go" if she doesn't care that much!

Just in case anyone is interested... it seems like touring plans is down again this morning. Happy Friday!! :)

oh one more thing I found from another thread. Looks like they are changing the Star Wars Dessert Party to be more immersive and will be held inside the Launch Bay. (@Mintycake I know you're a huge Star Wars fan...) Waiting for reviews and I might cancel the Holiday Wishes dessert party and go for this instead on my last night.

OOOH going to check that out!

Thanks. I still haven't had any luck with that PPO Akershus breakfast :(
I'm looking for Akershus, too, with zero luck. I had wanted a PPO, but I'm starting to lose hope!

On another note...does anyone know what the weather is like first week of December? Does anyone swim? Do they heat the pools?

I have read that they heat pools.... As for weather, I think it's not predictable at all... ?

I am hoping to have some pool time on this trip for sure. If they heat the pools that will be lovely...

As for Akershus, I did get us a lunch there, and on the positive side, it means we can relax, enjoy our food, meet the princesses, and not have to rush to try and beat the RD crowd. I think the strategy for us for the whole Frozen stuff is to Fastpass the ride (no biggie since I'm not particularly interested in Soarin or Test Track) and the M&G seems to have about a 25 minute wait on average so that's okay. DH will likely go to Test Track on our Epcot day when we RD Joy and Sadness (hoping our 7:30am breakfast at Cape May will get us there in time). I think if we eliminate the Tier 1 fast passes at least for me and DD, we'll be able to do the Froway stuff with no issues. Providing the ride doesn't keep breaking down!

The pools are heated and my nephews have been able to swim even at night. The weather has been in the 80's on one trip in Dec. and in the 40 to 60 range one trip. Just watch the weather prediction before you go and pack for the unexpected. Mornings and nights will be cool even on 80 degree days.

We've experienced the same thing in November so definitely will be packing sweaters! :D

I think there's a single rider for test track and it should not take too long to go through that. For now I think Soarin and FEA is the biggest attraction... For me, my DS2 can only ride FEA (due to height requirements) so we'd just do that for fastpass unless he grows 5 inches by December! :P Wish they would have fastpasses for Joy and Sadness!

I don't mind riding soarin but it's not a "must do" for us (I know, weird). Yes DH plans to use single rider for TT as he isn't that into character meets. We may try to FP+ Soarin but we also might want to do FEA again as well. The problem is my days at Epcot. I have the Akershus lunch on day 2 of epcot, meaning i was planning to do J&S (FUtureworld) on day 1 of epcot (the day of our Cape May breakfast) and then day 2 was RD for Froway and international gateway (day 2 is our "shorter" epcot day because DD will go to the kids club at 4:30pm). It's also EMH at Epcot (PM) so not sure how crazy busy it will be but I had another radical idea for our date night that evening. Instead of booking a fancy dinner somewhere, maybe DH and I will just go back to Epcot, grab some QS (Japan, Mexico, Morroco?) and enjoy the World Showcase. DD isn't likely to want to spend time in WS other than meeting princesses and riding the two rides there so I feel like this will be a nice way to catch up. Any thoughts?

That's a good plan. I think there's a lot to enjoy in EPCOT especially during Christmas. I heard there's some food booths that sell small snacks? (I read about a salted caramel drink in Germany) Honestly, last trip it was only DH and I and the best part I enjoyed was going around WS during Food and Wine festival. I don't remember enjoying any restaurants as much. :)

I also think it's an excellent idea! Much easier to browse the countries in depth without littles in tow! You could even enjoy a few adult beverages along the way.

Someone mentioned she got a CP package already? Anyone knows if it's released?

Anyone have a fave QS in the World Showcase at Epcot?
And @Candycane83 thanks for the tip on the SW Dessert party. I ran it by my family this morning and we're all keen to do it. I'll be cancelling the Fantasmic reservation (because I don't think you can do both). Also we'll save a bundle by cancelling the dinner at Mama Melrose and we'll likely just move our 50s prime time reservation earlier so we'll do a late lunch/early dinner and then just fill up on the SW party food. Sweet!
