***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

from the restaurants board, just FYI:

Last year the CP reservations opened up on July 7th. The year before that (2014) the opened on July 8th. The year before that (2013), they opened on July 9th. All of these happened to be a Tuesday. So if you are going by history, CP packages should open this year on either July 5th or the 12th.

Hopefully 7/5 :)

Well guess what, I booked Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose for lunch and switched my 50s prime time lunch to dinner, and then dropped the Sci Fi diner reservation. Because when I told DD about Fantasmic she really wanted to see it (she told me she'd rather do that then Star Wars). Besides, you're seated for Fantasmic, vs standing for Star Wars Fireworks, right? Which I think would be more comfortable for everyone as well. The lunch at Mama Melrose looks yummy and I know my daughter will eat the food. We still have the 8am H&V but I think even with buffet by the time we get our 12:35 MM lunch we'll be hungry again right? and if we're still super full for dinner DH and I will split an entree at 50s prime time. I guess I'm going to have to look at the dining plan again.

If you take it easy at the buffet and eat a normal breakfast and not a free for all you can eat breakfast then I think it will be ok.

I personally would not do Sci Fi and 50's prime time in the same day... food is too similar. So good plan :) You could try for a later MM lunch and just skip dinner too, lol. I'm already worried about being overly full for 2 meals a day, 3 would send me over the edge ;) but I'm a beagle at breakfast ;)

I guess I just really wanted to try the Sci Fi diner since it looked so cool (and has a lot of good vegetarian options). Oh well. 50s Prime time was a must for us so I needed to work it in there but the plan is to order 1 adult and 1 kids meal and just split it all. I like my lunch spot at Mama Melrose as it builds in a buffer if we don't get seated right away (seems to be common at TS? not sure) so my daughter won't go bananas. Plus then we can enjoy our nice big lunch and go back to the resort for a swim and a nap (or maybe catch a show first and then go back while we digest). Hmm wait, what time do I have to be there for Fantasmic? I'm thinking I booked 50s prime time too late (6:15pm)

Splitting an entree sounds good. I think it should be ok to do breakfast lunch and dinner but you have to keep in mind that MM is app entree and dessert. ;)
I think if you're looking into the regular dining plan, you need to really look into the costs. If you're doing mostly TS then maybe the DxDP? You basically need to outline what you would order for each ADR you make to find out if it would save you money :P in my case, I find it only worth it for a few days since we mostly likely will not eat in too much QS places and would not eat an app entree and dessert for each meal of our trip...

I hope this does not like F! where availability is so limited. I'm a little surprised at how hard it was to find reservations for this...

6:15 might be too late. 1st show is usually 7 or 7:30?

yes, i would not eat dinner later than 5 on a fantasmic night, it's at 7pm and i think you should be there 30 minutes prior.

it's different I think. I think usually F! is released at the 180 day window but they are lagging so far behind on schedules. So you can book those restaurants either with or without package from the same pool of available times. This kind of almost screwed us because the F! packages lagged behind so far - other people are reporting being able to cancel their old ADR and rebook it as F! package.

CP has been going on long before they started doing these packages, they are 2TS, every restaurant in epcot participates and the CP shows are MOBBED. I mean MOBBED. They definitely hold back reservation times for this event that they have been running this way forever.

Yikes. I just changed it to 4:15pm. If we aren't hungry then we'll just have a milkshake :)

chances are you are not going to be. 12:35, assume seating by 12:45, an hour to eat, done by 1:45 with a 3 course meal. 2.5 hours later you are not going to be ready to eat again :) MM is decent but not insanely good. I still think you should prioritize 2 of the 3 that you are doing. it's kind of a short day to cram all 3 in. I'll shut up now :)

Of course I am doing BoG in between 9:50 CP and 6:15 HDDR at 2pm and am willing to just have a cupcake or if hungry a soup and cupcake.

@Mintycake Since Fantasmic is 7:00pm and you need to be at the theater about 30 minutes before, there is no possibility of making it with a 6:15 PT. Since you'll be pretty full from breakfast and lunch, perhaps you could have a later dinner back at your resort or somewhere else since the park closes fairly early.

Okay so maybe I'll just leave my 4:15pm 50s Prime Time and cancel Mama Melrose. Because really, we're not dying to eat there, the package is kind of pricey, and we can just fastpass Fantasmic if we have to. I just hope it won't suck if we have to use FP. We'll book our FP's around 11am and then hopefully pick up the one for Fantasmic since it's tier 1.

@Mintycake Do you think Fantasmic will suck? Oh my gosh, it's so good! It's Mickey's nightmare and shows that good conquers evil. It has tons of characters, water effects and explosions and always puts a huge smile on our faces.

I totally understand that you want to experience these restaurants. Same with me although my problem is more in the animal kingdom! Lol! We want to try TH, yak and yeti and Tiffins! We split it in 3 days but then I start wondering if I could insert Sanaa somewhere :scared1:

Maybe you can see a video of Fantasmic before you decide to cancel? I think that it might be harder to grab the package later should you decide to go through with it?

Does Candlelight Processional include fireworks viewing seat/spots? One source I read said it did, but Disney Food Blog says it does not. (at least in reference to the 2015 CP)

LOL what I meant was I hope it doesn't suck that we need to get a FP - if you do it that way will you still have to get to the theatre 1/2 hr before? Thats what I meant. I'm sure the show will be great!

are you really against "brunch" at H&V? or is it not available? 11AM fantasmic package with the disney junior characters then a nice meal at 50's prime time for dinner without cramming too much in?
