***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I haven't been there bur I feel the same. Meh. We are eating at kona and I'm requesting the bread pudding for dessert (I hear they will do that for you). I think ohana is good for dinner if you love meat
LOL, I was thinking about stopping by tambu lounge for dessert only as an option... :P But I don't know... I feel spoiled with all the good Asian options here that Ohana looked very normal to me. The only plus is if we can order some steamed rice for DS. (hoping they will accommodate that)

Okay guys I need your help. I just scored a dinner reservation at O'hana. Since I have only 6 TS credit, I will have to pick and choose. I have Garden Grill breakfast and lunch, H&V Fantasmic! dinner, and O'hana dinner. Which two should I keep? DS (age 10) doesn't really mind if he missed out on any character dining but I thought we should keep at least one. WDYT?

Ok, so for those going to DS, do you guys plan what you will be doing there? I'm looking at the map and thinking I can't do it randomly... the place is too big! :faint:

Shopping, eating, meeting Santa, doing family photos, etc. We're planning on spending two evenings, and a late morning/afternoon over there. I'm excited to see how it all looks now!

I would definitely keep H&V F! dinner... the seats are awesome, it is a special dinner with characters in costume only available around xmas, the reviews lately have been quite good and it is an excellent value on the DDP (this is my way of saying "there is no way I'd pay for that OOP!")

I would not keep garden grill both breakfast and dinner. Pick one. Either one is fine, my preference is for breakfast 1) because there are so few good breakfast choices in Epcot but lots of great lunch/dinner choices, both TS and QS and 2) I love breakfast. It's not AS good a value on the DDP as dinner but you could easily swap out dinner at GG for dinner at Sunshine Seasons and not impact your plans at all. GG breakfast is also a good add on ADR if you are willing to pay OOP for it.

That's my opinion ;) worth what you paid for it!

Argh, I am bummed! Liberty Tree Tavern changed their menu!

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/liberty-tree-tavern/menus/

No more BLT! Colony salad with salmon?! Ugh! So sad!

Now to think about cancelling my ADR...
I'm sorry! I am kind of wondering if I should try to score a lunch there and hope people cancel out on my first day. QS would be easier and less time but I LOVE liberty tree and would either do a chowder and corn fritters or a crab dip and ooey gooey toffee cake. If I am more hungry the pasta is what I would have wanted. So the menu still appeals to me. Even the salad sounds good though reviews on it have been dismal lately. I know lots are disappointed though.

The only good thing is that they left the toffee cake and the cheeseburger. Hopefully the fries are the same!

I'm not a huge fan of downtown disney and never have been. On any given trip I spend about 2-3 hours there and we hit the marketplace side... I like the disney owned and themed stores: world of disney, the christmas store, the home store, basin. and ice cream at ghirardelli's, lunch at wolfgang puck express (won't be doing this time). i always get ornaments to commemorate my trip and it is a tradition to get them personalized and shipped so they don't break on the way home... so that takes some time... last time kiddo did one for him, one for me and one for "us." I am not interested in shopping in high end mall type stores and a lot of the restaurants there would be unappealing for kiddo though I wish I could try Homecoming. I never cared much for disney quest, we can bowl at home, and have never taken the time from "included" nighttime entertainment for cirque du soliel.

I am undecided whether to see Santa at DS or at DS, lol. at springs or studios. The charm of an old fashioned department store setting for santa at studios really appeals to me. but so does the pager at springs. I could do either because my springs day is before my studios with fantasmic evening so i could go to studios earlier to see santa. Just not sure what I want to do. I'm hoping pics of both come out.

I wasn't even considering LTT before because it seems so similar to food we have here in NE all the time. But, the crab and lobster dip and the ooey gooey toffee cake both sound AMAZING!

yeah that would be lunch. I LOVE LTT. it i san old favorite of mine. I have a collection of their glass mugs at my ex's house. I should ask him for them... LTT and CRT. I would only do this if I could get an ADR around 12:30 or so, any later and it would interfere with dinner and FP+ plans, any earlier and i'd worry about missing it coming from the airport. I know I SHOULD just stick with QS not requiring an ADR but gosh I love LTT lunch so much.

btw I fell in love with LTT when I lived in Houston, lol. I am from NY. I have only lived in NE last 6 years (this november it will be 6 years!) so yeah now I would be unlikely to order chowder (even though I said i'd order it with the corn fritters for lunch). the pasta has always been on my radar and they still have it. Basically everything on the menu sounds good but the cheeseburger. I would not do AYCTE in the middle of the day or probably even for dinner there, I DO love thanksgiving dinner but I like to make it and I like it MY way if that makes sense. not going to disney for it. Kiddo would eat the turkey or the mac and cheese.

I'm there for the food, LOL! Unfortunately, I do not have enough stomach space for everything... Thinking of passing by ganachery first, then boathouse for dinner, then walk over towards the Christmas displays and pass by Amorette and Goofy's on the way for my evening there. I'm not interested in anything I could find here either but I think there is still a lot to see especially with the Christmas decorations and festival of trees or whatever they call it. :D I want to squeeze in the meet and greet with the coca cola polar bear too! too many things, so little time!

Oh yeah, we will have to hit up Goofy's Candy Co to spend some snack credits. promised the kiddo he could indulge himself in make your own treats there lol.

On 11/30 -- we have a 12:10 ADR for Mama Melrose's F! Lunch Package. With the addition of JBJB, our interest has turned to that. Should we hang on to this ADR?

I know if by chance we want to FP F!, it's easy to do. Would a QS lunch be best?

This would be a new restaurant for all of us, and the steak with mac and cheese looks divine!

We ate dinner at mama melrose 6 years ago on my last Disney trip before seeing the Osborne Christmas lights. We didn't have an ADR and walked up. I remember the food as good Italian but nothing more special than Maggianos/Macarroni Grill types of food. That said, if it weren't that we were doing a Hollywood and Vine lunch and Fantasmic package, we'd probably eat at it again.

Yeah, I can see how LTT would be appealing living in TX. LOL
The AYCTE doesn't appeal to me either...especially right after Thanksgiving. I'm really torn now because I've never had CHH and I know DH would like it, but LTT sounds so freaking good! Also, I'm already going to have QS credits left over. Does anyone know if I can convert those into a TS credit or a snack credit?? Hopefully we'll use most of them but I think I'll have one or two left over.

I believe the QS credits can be turned into 3 snack credits. I don't think they can become a TS credit. HTH.
