***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I like your thinking @Lisa F!

Goofy's Candy Company, make your own too. I love the smell of the inside of that place. And the character apples are amazing here and wherever you see them...the Main Street confectionary, big top, wherever. I always thought they looked gross, but oldest DS got one years ago and I crave them all the time. They cut them for you too.
HS- the carrot cake cookie at the Writer's Stop. It is amazing! I also keep hearing the Cobb salad at the Derby is a must. I see no way to fit it in this trip, but I'm trying to figure out how to make it a snack. Ha!
EP - macaroon ice cream sandwich. Also want to try the brioche ice cream sandwich. Cronut is amazing.....We've always gotten those to go back to the room, but have to rig something b/c they don't actually have to go bags and it is a pain. This trip, I'm hoping to remember to bring plain brown paper bags with me in my purse. They keep well and taste just as good the next day.
MK - Dole whip. Mickey bar. Waffle at sleepy hollow. I hear there is a yummy brisket Mac and cheese on party nights in frontierland. Whatever special treat is happening at the MVMCP. Popcorn.

Ice cream sandwich is also a snack credit! (if you didn't already know) I have much more but now have to run to the branch! Just did a quick check but I will be back! :P
yes but we are not on DDP for the MK portion of our trip except maybe the first night after Narcoossees.

I realize I sound like country comes to town with my brown paper bag idea. I swear, It's just because we're always so stuffed by the time we get to the Cronut place, but they are so good and we have to have them, hence wanting them to go. I just plan on sticking said brown paper bag down into one of the many Disney parks souvenir bags we'll already be toting. So it'll be all classy, don't worry. Or, maybe I'll just carry the brown paper bag proudly and if we run into each other, just be sure to say hi!

I had the special Universal ticket offer code (buy 1 ticket, get 2 days free) in my old email account. Good thing I checked today, because the code expires tomorrow!

Checked with dh and he can take an extra 2 days off work to extend our trip so we can use those free tickets. Next decision: Where are we going to stay for those 2 extra nights? No availability at CBR, but I think I'd prefer to be very close to Universal those days. I'd really like to try to keep the extension as inexpensive as possible. Universal hotel rates ranges from $1299 to $304 per night, plus a $22 per night parking fee. There's a Drury hotel 1 mile from Universal that's a preferred partner hotel. They have a free shuttle to the park. I love Drury hotels: free hot breakfast, free Kickback dinner every night with adult beverages (recent expansion makes this enough to consider a dinner), no parking fee. With my AAA discount, I can get a room at the Drury for only $103. Not bad!

I've got a list of various options and prices that I'll go over with dh tonight after he gets home from work.

Well, thought I'd share here some grief I've been going through. It's been a journey, but, I think I've decided not to get the Disney floral in room tree. Ever since a friend told me about it years ago I've always wanted one. I thought, man, when we go to WDW around the holidays I'm definitely going to get it.

Anyway, I can rationalize paying for anything, but I don't think I want to go $400 for the larger tree. And I'm not digging the $200 tree. It's not that cute to me. So, I came here for grief counseling. I'm pretty sure no one else here wanted it, but I'm betting you guys will understand my pain of FOMO of letting something go at Disney. Oh, and I'm all for being talked into it if anyone makes a great argument for it.

How about being talked into a different option? Could you fit a small tabletop tree into your suitcase? Bring a strand of lights. If you don't have a lot of room for ornaments, go to Home Depot (I think that's the right place) and pick up some Mickey head silhouette paint chips. Cut them out and hang them on the tree. Hit up the craft stores to look at tiny tree options and use the weekly 40% off one item coupon.

wooohooo! that's great!! :cheer2:

yes that is the first night after narcoossees
8th is the xmas party and 7th is the EMH for MK. you're going to narcoosee's on the 7th right? Sorry, maybe I'm confused but I thought you were on DP until the xmas party!

@Winniebell10 If you really want an in room tree there are table top options for around $20 from Amazon. You can have it shipped to your resort.... then go shopping like @LisaF suggested and have a tree and wonderful hand picked ornaments to bring home.

I love retail therapy!!

My husband just walked by as I was reading this and I asked him if the smaller Christmas tree that we put on the kitchen counter will fit in our luggage. He rolled his eyes and said "No, you are not taking a Christmas tree to Disney!" We are flying Southwest so we each get 2 free checked bags anyway! Oh how little he knows me sometimes...

We are driving to Disney. Since it's just the 2 of us and my husband has a hybrid SUV, we'll have plenty of room to bring along whatever extras I want. DH doesn't know it yet, but yes, we're bringing along one of the small trees the kids had in their rooms when they were little. He'll be climbing up into the garage loft to get out a tree and some lights.

I think our Disney big glass ball ornaments are going to be too big for that little tree, but I have a bunch of Hallmark Disney ornaments. I have the entire Mickey's Christmas Carol collection, plus a lot of Mickey/Minnie ornaments, plus a few random ornaments. There should be plenty to fill up the little tree.

I'm drooling over the talk about all the snacks! I hope to get a list together of some snacks and adult beverages that I think we should try.

What about snacks that travel well and you can bring home with you? It just seems like there is way too much good stuff to eat it all on our trip. Someone brought a bucket of caramel corn from Sleepy Hollow to work and that was delicious, so that is on my list of items to bring home to savor during our WDW withdrawal! I've also eyed up a small cake (but too large for the 2 of us to eat in one sitting) at Antionette's (?) in Disney Springs, but I'm not sure if that would travel well. At this point, DS is only scheduled for our very last day so it would be perfect to get it and take home with us.

Awesome! Definitely one of the perks of driving. I do not own any Disney ornaments, so I make take some plain ones to start and add ornaments as I buy them at the park. I just updated my packing list....hahaha.

Amorette's!!!! I definitely want to try that place at Disney Springs! everything looks sooo good....

I've heard that the caramel popcorn at karamell kuche keeps well in a ziplock bag. Also, treat's from goody's and main street confectionery... Not sure what else but am interested since I would have 24 snack credits!

oh no switching over on the 7th. morning in epcot, checking into poly and changing there (hopefully with some chill time), dinner at narcoossees then MK. so that is the last day of DDP for me.

Totally forgot about that!

I had a wierd ADR thing happen today. When I booked the fantasmic lunch earlier it gave me a wierd internal error ecreen. Hit refresh and it seemed to go through. Now I can't modify the reservation. When I tried to do so to adjust the time with the non fantastic lunch I dropped, it gives me an error that says to call because my reservation has already begun. I called Disney and they had no idea. They can see the reservation and its there. Isn't that odd? This happen to anyone else? I've never not been able to modify an ADR.

Sounds weird but I really want to try the shaved ice in Japan with condensed milk (kagori) at epcot and caramel apples in Germany! Also wishing they still had jalapeño pretzels I heard so much about. Creme Brule in France :)
