We're going the same time! From the research I have done, I think it will be the perfect time to go. I have checked with touringplans.com and there's a poll of "who's going..." out there for Oct & Nov and both polls shows a small number of people going during this :thumbsup2 time. I have also checked with wunderground.com then click on trip planner for the weather. I think it's going to be great!

hey, you are from NC to :thumbsup2 I can't wait to go. We have been 3 times and my husband said not this year, so somehow last week I talked him into another trip  . Hope we have wonderful weather and small crowds. I have not been doing anything but staying on the dis, I am getting no housework or anything done :rotfl: oh well, see ya there.

This will be our fourth trip too! I got where I don't do nothing but stay on this board. My house is a pig pen.

That is an excellent week to go. I went that week back in 2004 and had a great time. And got to go to MNSSHP, too! :teeth: The following week (Nov 5-12) will be the very busy one, due to many kids having days off from school that week. Have a great time! :)

Good weather and low crowds have a wonderful magical trip. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Hi! We'll be there too, same time, staying at POP.
I have heard of a few others going, I saw some lists on Tourguide mike. I don't think it will be really bad then.
Anyone other than us NOT doing MNSSHP on Halloween night?
See you all then! :sunny:

We're not planning to attend MNSSHP this year, we went last year and loved it. This year my mother, daddy, brother and his "special" friend with be with us; this will be their first time at WDW and thought that it may be too much of a good thing for them. I have requested the 50's section again this year, we love it!

We have never stayed there, but are getting two rooms (there's five of us in our family) so we are hoping for connecting rooms.

On Halloween night we are going to see Fantasmic.
How are the crowds in the parks on the days of MNSSHP? I think I will be going to MK that day.

Last year we attended the party on it's first date in September, I think it was September 30th. I don't remember MK being any different than a normal day.

We will be at the Fantasmic show too the same night. I had orignally plan to see it on Nov 1 but then I found out that it will go through rehab 11/1-11? so I switch it. We will be eating at H&V at 4:30 to get the seating package. We didn't last year and had to wait in line for the show and I told my husband "we'll never do that again".

We also are not going to the halloween party, and had to planned on doing fantasmic, we have dinner ressies at cape may at 5:30 it is a buffet dinner but I may be pushing it to get to fantasmic You think I may need to switch our ressies?? :confused3

The show that night starts at 7:30, it depends on how long you will be eating at Cape May. I haven't tried that place before, you may want to switch it to another place or try to eat earlier, unless they have a second show, I haven't looked. We don't do hopper passes so once we get to the park we stay for the day.

We go every year during that time as my oldest son's b-day is November 4th. The weather is usually much better (low humididy and better temps). You may even need a sweatshirt at night if you're prone to getting cold. It also doesn't rain like it does in the summer. :sunny:

The crowds are certainly better during the week (at least). DW is ALWAYS crowded, just a little less crowded at different times of the year. You have to be careful, however, as ABC records the Christmas parade and MK gets CRAZY crowded during those days. Check the schedule on that. They rope off parts to funnel the crowd where they want it. Can get crazy.

On another good note, it's decorated for Christmas and the characters are wearing their Christmas garb. VERY cool I must say.

You can also catch MAJOR deals on the previous year's dated stuff as they are just starting to bring out the next year's stuff. For instance, last year (2005) we were there and they were putting out the 2006 shirts/hats/etc. Of course, this meant they cut the prices on the 2005 stuff. I got a nice 2005 fleece pullover regularly like $60 (or something like that) for like $25. Same kinds of deals on t-shirts. You just have to act quickly and they may not have your size.

Of course there's the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Well worth the money. Hot chocolate, coffee, cookies are given out. There are carolers (sp?) and a very cool parade (yeah, the one they show on ABC). I'm not a parade guy but this one is very good.

We'll be there again this year. I don't have the dates handy. I'm too excited as we're on our way there in 2 days for MY b-day. The boy doesn't know yet though... Shh...

Enjoy!

We're going on those dates this year and it looks like it's going to be great! The crowd blog has mostly 4's each day. Last year, we went the third week of October and most days were 5's and 6's and we thought the crowds were really low. So I can only imagine how 4's will seem---empty! I'm psyched.

PS - Hi JoBird! :wave2:

Hi all....we too will be there from 10/28 thru Nov. 14 - are we really going to be able to see the Christmas decorations and all? I had no idea they would be doing that!! Please say it is so....what are the dates for the MVMCParties? I'm trying to not get my hopes up too much...in case in isn't so. Am I right that the Festival of the Arts will be at DTD during that time? Thanks for your help! Barb in Texas

BARB -
I don't know the dates of when they start putting up Christmas decorations. It will be sometime after MNSSHP is finished. If you are there until the 14th, you might be in luck. If you've never seen the decorations, they are unbelievable! Anyone else have the times handy?

We are eating Halloween night at Mama Melrose's at 4:40 pm before Fantasmic. We didn't get the package though, because I thought it might not be packed with MNSSHP going on. Who am I fooling???? :goodvibes

It's nice to see others going and what everyone's plans are. Let's try to keep this open for a while!

Any others going this time frame???

PS-
KimWDW... :wave2: I just PM'ed you!

This is my first time getting on today, please say a prayer for my 86 granny, she's in the hospital and I just returned since 8:00 this morning.

I'm excited to see so many planning a trip at the same time! I'm posting my plans and hope to bump into some of you in Disney.

Sat 10/28 arrive at POP dinner at Chef Mickey's
Sun 10/29 Magic Kingdom dinner at Tony's
Mon 10/30 Epcot dinner at Rose & Crown
Tues 10/31 Studios dinner at Hollywood & Vine
Wed 11/01 Breakfast at Ohanas then to Animal Kingdom
Thur 11/02 Epcot dinner at Le Cellier
Fri 11/03 Magic Kingdom dinner at Crystal Place
Sat 11/04 home to North Carolina

The best trip we ever took was the first week of November - light crowds, amazing weather, food and wine festival. What more could you ask for?

NC State-
I'm so sorry about your Granny. She will be in my prayers.

We arrive on Sunday, checking into POP in the afternoon. No plans for dinner yet.
Here's our schedule
Monday--MK, EPCOT in the afternoon.
Tuesday--MK, MGM evening
Wednesday--Epcot all day
Thursday--AK, then MK for evening and Spectro
Friday--MK

As you can see, we love the MK and spend the majority of the time there. The kids get bored everywhere else, for some reason!

Do you live in NC?
I am originally from SC, born and raised in Charleston until 6 years ago!

It looks like there are a few of us DIS'ers going the same time...
