1st trip to DL, 1st Anniversary, 1st time on the coast...COMPLETED!!

YAY!!! The Grand looks beautiful..and YES we did book it!! As my ticker says in a little over 5 months we will be staying at the grand for 4 nights, theme park view..can't wait!
I LOVED the special treats they gave you in your room..how wonderful was that..and the eye thing UGH NOT fun!! I have def had that happen one too many times that i finally bring an extra pair or 2 everytime i go away now...
Looking forward to the Napa Rose review, we are hoping to go there in Oct! :)
Great update as always!:thumbsup2

I love those rubber duckies - they are too cute! And those treats looked really yummy!

I can't see a thing without my contacts, so I have to bring an extra pair when traveling. I guess I could wear my glasses, but I always feel really sleepy when I put them on. :confused3 I guess because I usually only wear them at night when I am ready for bed...

Here's the Disney door in case you need to run out to Home Depot & get one for the new house. :lmao:

I can understand about the contact thing....I wore glasses since 3rd grade, then finally got contacts at age 16 (hard contacts) and then was able to switch to soft at age 21, then after about 6yrs of that, I decided on Lasik surgery.....I was finally FREE of glasses and contacts :woohoo: . Then just last year (4yrs later) I broke down and went see an eye doctor to only find out I needed glasses again....but only to watch tv and drive....guess surgery doesn't last forever :confused3 .

Loving the TR so far popcorn::

I have been on the wedding/honeymoon boards, but I spend a lot of time on another wedding website the knot. I should investigate and see what kind of perks we can get on the cruise if anybody else has done one on the wedding boards, which I'm sure they have. I love the update...minus the watery eyes I have from reading about your ripped contact. I had contacts too for quite some time and I should be wearing my bifocals as we speak, but I'm horrible and don't do what I am suppose to do. I stopped wearing both about two or three yrs ago then last yr when I went to the eye dr they told me I needed bifocals...I'm only 24! :scared1: Let me stupidity be a lesson to us all that you should wear whatever your suppose to wear. Even though I'm so not taking my own advice. :rotfl2: I just bump up my font. Haha. That stinks that you had to take the long way to dtd and that someone turned the sign around too. That build a bear looked ginormous! I heart build a bear! I have several. I also loved the dept. 56 stuff. I've seen that before and I wanted it all too. I started collecting the disney snowbabies. I have three I believe. Soooo cute! I also collect the regular snowbabies as well. Have you seen the disney ones? ADORABLE! Congrats on the house. So exciting. Are you gonna get a disney door? Hehe. That nemo one pp posted was cute! :goodvibes

So sorry to hear about the contact, yikes!!! Awesome treat that mousekeeping left for you, how very sweet, I bet that was just an awesome surprise. The treats look really yummy and bet they were. Can't wait to read and see more, your trip reports are great.:goodvibes

Sorry to hear about the tear in your contact.

Those mousekeepers sure know how to add some magic to a Disney vacation. We stayed at the Grand last year and almost walked in on our "surprise" Actually it was a surprise for my DS9. We had purchased him several Disney stuffies and mousekeeping arranged them all on the bed, took a picture of them, and left the picture for us to keep.

Looking forward to your next installment. :goodvibes

:bored: :bored: :bored: Waiting patiently for next installment

Sorry to hear about the contact. Don't we all just love pics with us in our glasses? :scared1:

Great TR, especially since we will take our 1st trip to DLR in September!! Can't wait to read more!!

Great Update:thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about your contact trouble, I am all to familiar with contact problems. That fuzzy thing happens to me all the time, especially when we have left the house and gone about 5 minutes-- then I have to tell my Dh to please turn around so I can go fix it, otherwise I can only see out of one eye for the night ---I feel your pain. I never leave for a trip without a spare pair or two.

I LOVE the Christmas set!!! Now if only I could win the lottery to be able to afford such a set;)

What fabulous pixiedust: pixiedust pixiedust: you got in your room. It was sooo cool, the ducks, the heart, the chocolates and then as an extra surprise, the Mickey Rise Krispy treats -- any free food is a bonus, but Mickey shaped free food is the jackpot!! I have a confession to make though, no one get mad at me, brace yourself, I've never had a Mickey Rice Krispy treat, I'm sure they are good though, chocolate, rice krispies, and Mickey, what is there not to like???

I'm sorry about your contact but I'm glad you are having a nice anniversary aside from your contact situation:goodvibes

On a side note, DH and I went to a grocery store that carries Disney food products today in search of hidden Mickey's in food!! (I know we are crazy). So I found the burgers and there was some alphabet shaped fries, but what we really wanted was the pizza you had. Unfortunately no pizza :sad2: they had regular mini circle pizzas of the disney brand but no Mickey shaped. I tried, I'll have to hunt some more. Where did you say you found your pizza? I live in Canada but DH and I cross the border plenty in search of yummy American food!!

Waiting as patiently as I can (which really isn't all that patiently) for the next installment!!:upsidedow

Are you leaving us hanging AGAIN girl?

:) Hurry back soon! Great TR so far!

Great update! Can't wait for more! What a wonderful surprise from Mousekeeping!

Sorry to hear about your eye. There is nothing worse than contact issues! Mine rip all the time because I have disposables and they seem softer so I make sure I always have a second pair. That "film" that gets on them and makes them blurry drives me nuts too!!! Hope your eye and mouth is better!

Great update Karen!

Sorry to hear about your contact dilemma. I always make sure to carry an extra pair of lenses when I travel. I'm sure you will now too! :thumbsup2

What a wonderful surprise you got when you got back to your room!

That so stinks that you tore your contact lens! That is my worst nightmare! I always travel with at least 2 extra pairs with me just in case that happens. So far, so good, but of course the one time I don't bring any extra pairs would be the one time I would need them!

I LOVED the pics of the wonderful surprise you found in your room! Glad you got "pixie dusted!" ;)

Can't wait to hear about NAPA ROSE.......I'm looking forward to your next installment! :goodvibes

That stinks about your torn contact! I hate it when that happens :headache: BUT, what a wonderful surprise that mousekeeping left for you! :cloud9:

Can't wait to hear about your dinner at Napa Rose!

Thank you!! I'm going to have to learn...ALWAYS bring an extra pair of contacts with you at ALL times!! :rotfl2:

Oh man! I'm sorry about my contact! I wear contacts too and am BLIND without them. So I always carry an extra pair because with my luck, something like that would happen. Well, I only carry an extra pair when I go on vacation..

Yay! The rose petals and the rubber duckys were so cute!

ME TOO!!! I don't know WHAT I would have done if I hadn't brought along my glasses!!!!! Exactly....my luck is the same!! Thank you so much!! :goodvibes

I'm sorry about your contact but it was awesome what mousekeeping did.

Yeah it kinda all made up for it in the end! Thanks so much!!

What great pixie dust from Mousekeeping. :goodvibes
Can't wait to hear about Napa Rose. I really think I want to make it our final night's dinner.

Thank you! :) Napa Rose was really good...very pricey, but still good! Make sure you're not starving when you go, though! I didn't think that we got much food and it was very pricey for small amounts of food. I was very full when we left, but I could also see how someone who came in starving wouldn't be full when they were finished with the meal. I also wasn't that hungry when we arrived. Thanks again!!

I'm so sorry you're contact ripped on your first day! That's happened to me once on a scrapbook retreat and I had to brave my glasses as well. I always carry just one extra contact as backup now.

LOVE your trip report and can't wait for more!

Oh no!! I'm sorry to hear that! Well, I've learned my lesson!! I've worn contacts for TWELVE years now and I've NEVER had this happen to me before!!! I was so shocked when I saw that the stupid thing was ripped! I thought, "WHY ME?! WHY NOW!?!?!" Thank you so much!!!

YAY!!! The Grand looks beautiful..and YES we did book it!! As my ticker says in a little over 5 months we will be staying at the grand for 4 nights, theme park view..can't wait!

Ooooh....you're going to LOVE it there!!!!!! It's SO NICE! I want to see pictures of the rooms...so you better have a TR when you come back! :rotfl2: At least a TR of pictures of the rooms!! You'll enjoy Napa Rose, also!! I'm so excited for you!!!!! :goodvibes

The treats were fantastic! Gotta love Mickey shaped food!!!! That makes a lot of sense...you wear them at night time so you associate then with sleep! Thanks for reading along!!

Here's the Disney door in case you need to run out to Home Depot & get one for the new house. :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's GREAT!!!!!! So funny!!!!! I don't think that will be in our new house but it's cute anyway!! :rotfl2:

Oooh Lasik surgery....sounds wonderful!! The contacts and the glasses don't bother me like they used to, though! Oooh no!! Sorry to hear that you have to have glasses again! That stinks after paying for the surgery and all!! At least you don't have to wear them all of the time! I don't know what I would do with myself if I could wake up and really SEE everything clearly! I've fallen asleep with my contacts in my eyes before and woken up like, "Whooooaaa!" :rotfl2: Thanks for reading along!!!

The Knot is a good one to look around at, too!!! Bifocals? Hmm...sorry about that! A lady I work with has "bifocal contacts" :rotfl2: .... one sees far away and one sees close up. To me, that would be too confusing!! The Build a Bear store was HUGE! And so much fun, too!!! I saw the Disney Snowbabies! They are too cute!! :) Thank you!! :goodvibes

It was the best surprise ever!! Yes the treats were awesome! We cut one in half and ate it and saved the 2nd one for once we got home! Gotta keep a little of that Disney Magic with you sometimes, right?

Sorry to hear about the tear in your contact.

I know what you mean about the contacts!! I hate that film, too!! I wanted every piece of that Christmas set too but unfortunately, I'm not rich! :rotfl2: You MUST try a MM rice crispy treat! All MM food is fabulous, of course but these are just extra fabulous! Especially with toppings on them!!! Yay for Mickey Mouse food search!! I got the pizza at Wal-Mart! Good luck!!

I just love this. I just found this TR. CA rocks!!! I am glad you had a great time.

Thank you so much!!! We had a blast!! :goodvibes
