1st timer becomes a 2nd timer! Two trip reports collide! Trip Reports Complete!

Well this Trip Report is going nowhere fast! I am sorry! I ended up working 2 evening shifts in a row and I work Night Shift the next 3 days. I may be able to update in the mornings this weekend but it depends on if I get the double shift I am hoping for tonight and how tired I may be in the morning!

Extra shifts are good! More $$ is good. It's been a really long time since they have called for extra shifts so I am happy, just tired!

im glad u hade a great 1st trip!!!

Okay.. so I can 100% gaurantee there will be trip report update today. I am barely making it through my shift at work. I did end up with the double shift so I am exhausted. Since being home from visiting my family I worked Night Shift Monday & Tuesday, Evening Shift Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and Night shift Saturday with 2 more night shifts to go!

I may have to take a nap in the car before I head home in the morning!

Take care of you and don't stress over the trip report.

Thanks! I'm not stressing over it I just really want to get the tr written before I forget everything. My memory bites when it comes to remembering my experiences. (but I can remember PTs from 2.5 years ago!)

That sounds like me. If I don't get it done right away I am off and forgetting it all. I have friends that take notes but I just don't take the time when I am there. When I get home I always wish that I had.

Aaak! I need to be sleeping but can't!! Anyways I took notes the first day because I knew I forgot everything from my wdw trip but then I forgot to write down what I did on days 2-5.. Thank goodness for my pics but even then I didn't get all the pics I wanted either!

Me either, I never get the pictures I want, that is one reason I visit disboards so much.

Get some sleep.

Ok... so when I last left off we had FINALLY gotten our WoC FP's. It had taken well over an hour in the line to get them! I knew before we got in line that I needed to get FP for Soarin'. I went to grab those while my friend held our place. When I got back with the FP she hadn't moved very far so the waiting continued...

After we finally received the FP I knew the next thing was Toy Story. Hubby and I LOVED TS in WDW so I KNEW I wanted to do it in DL!

So off we walked to Paradise Pier. And there we saw the HUGE line! OH MY! In WDW there is the advantage of FP! I was expecting a line but the line was outside the roped que and it was when you reached the que that you saw the 60 minute wait. I didn't care. I was willing to wait for Toy Story!

In the Que we encountered Mr Potato Head.

Now I was pretty disappointed in the Line at DL. At WDW it is much easier to pass the time taking pictures and looking at everything.

Here are a few pics of the line at WDW

To me the extra stuff to look at and take pictures of really helps the wait go faster. Instead I spent time trying to figure out how Mr Potato Head works! I think there must be someone that uses mirrors or his eyes are cameras or something to see who is in the crowd because he actually talks to specific people!

We finally made it through the line about 65 minutes later. The WAIT. So worth it!! I love this ride! My friend I think was cursing that we were waiting so long for a ride but she said at the end that she now understands why I wanted to wait and she LOVED it too!

Here are our scores!
Neither one of use scored very well but I won!
ry%3D400

I really wished they had a Fastpass line because I would so collect FP for it all day to ride it over and over!

Well so that was a short update but I have to go find my notes because I can't remember what we did next and my pics are jumbled in order!

Oh wow thank you for these pictures. I have never made it on that ride. It is so cute.

I really wish the DL line was like the WDW one. Except for the first Mr Potato head picture all the rest are from the line in WDW.

You will have to ride it the next time you make it to DL. Just be prepared for the long wait!

Well, that is the reason we haven't gone on it yet. I will probably go on it next trip because I am not planning to take the rest of the family.

So my notes are not helping with matching up the pictures because I did not write in my notes when we rode Grizzly River Rapids and those are the pictures that are next.

However, I am pretty sure that after TSMM I grabbed FP for California Screamin' and then we must have headed to Grizzly River Rapids since after that I believe we had lunch and I remember sitting at lunch wet!

Somewhere along the line I had picked up FP Grizzly but I have no idea when or how!

I LOVE Grizzly River Rapids. If it was a hot day on either of my 2 solo days I was going to ride it over and over. However it was cool and rainy those days so that was not going to happen.

So our trip through the rapids got us pretty soaked!!

After the rapids I guess we went to lunch. Actually maybe we rode it after lunch and it was just my water bottle that leaked in my bag that I was thinking of as wet at lunch!

Anyways at some point we rode the rapids!

Either before or after the rapids we rode Soarin. Which I LOVE as well! I think if the ride was any longer I would have motion sickness issues but we come back to ground just before that icky feeling sets in. We got the second row which was still good.

Next up we headed back to Paradise Pier to use the California Screamin FP's.

Oh! What fun the Coaster is! 5..4..3..2..1 OFF!

Cellphone picture...
ry%3D400

The coaster is so smooth! No motion sickness! Yeah I loved it too!

After California Screamin it was off to Mickey's Fun Wheel. Now I wasn't sure if I would try it because I HATE heights but when I saw it was all enclosed I figured why the heck not! However I made the mistake of selecting the swinging side.

Pics from way up..

So back to the swinging mickey's fun wheel! I think it should be renamed Mickey's nausea wheel! Both my friend and I were feeling a little quesy but mine wasn't to bad so we continued walking and rode the Silly Symphony Swings. After the swings my friend had to sit down for about 15 minutes. Her stomach did not like Mickey's Fun Wheel at all!

note to self, no swinging fun wheel!

After our stomachs recovered we headed to..
ry%3D400

I decided we needed to ride a few of the little kiddie rides...
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I think I would love an older kid/adult version of this ride! I love true bumper cars!

ry%3D400

Next up Heimlich's Chew Chew Train!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I would have liked to ride Tower of Terror at this point since you go through Bug's land to get there but my friend had no interest in riding it so instead we headed back out of bugs land and hit "It's tough to be a bug!"
ry%3D400

I love this show. The special effects are awesome. I do have to say I like it at AK where you are in the Tree of Life but will take it in Bug's Land as well!

ry%3D400

Next up we found a place to sit for the Pixar Play parade.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Unfortunately my camera batteries died halfway through the Parade

So after the parade we headed back to DL to use our Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy Fastpasses.
I am kinda indifferent on this ride. I know a lot of people love it but with the whole light/dark issues that I have it was hard for me to focus for the first half and then all of a sudden you are BLINDED by the photo cameras.

And here is the result of being blinded!
ry%3D400

I enjoyed the ride but just like the other coasters better.

After SMGG we went off to find a place for dinner. We ended up at the French Market where I had the Roast Beef Dinner and my friend had the Pasta Gratin.

I have a pic of mine.
ry%3D400

The roast beef was bleh... The potatoes were good!

I had some of my friends Pasta and that was yummy!

After dinner it was back to DCA for WoC!... and I will continue with that in the next post!

I love the Fun Wheel as long as I am not in the moving car. I love the views from it. They cannot be beat.

Okay.. I am going to finish up Day 1 sans pictures. I will add a few later.

I had last left off with eating dinner at French Quarter. This meal was decent for the price and pretty filling. We had gotten the Jack coffin dessert to share. I took a bite of it and it wasn't really for me. My friend said she would eat it later so I went inside to grab a to-go container and in my bag it went.

From French Quarter we walked fast over to DCA. At this point is when I actually looked at my WoC FP's and saw that they said Red section. I had only read about Yellow and Blue sections so this confused me. We get to the ropes and the CM says the easiest way to get to the RED section is to walk outside the ropes to the Golden Zephyer and enter there so off we went. I saw the red section before we quite reached the Zephyer so we ducked under the ropes to save a few steps. We give the CM our FP and they say just find a spot in here. So we look for an open area and think we have one with a decent view along the back. Come to find out it is a walk-way and not a standing area. We then have to move up farther where it is already crowded and farther to the right. We stand there for awhile and my feet just connot handle it. I am fine with walking (except for later in this trip!) but I always have issues with standing in one place so I had to sit. It was chilly out but the ground was actually warmer so it felt nice. However we were shortly told we had to stand so as to make more room for others still coming in. So up we stood. For a few minutes. I then sat back down! Finally it was time for the show to start.

I did not see a PRe-show. If there was one it was not close enough to the RED area to see or hear.

When the show started we could hear the music and see the pretty lighted fountains however could not see the images that were supposed to be in the fountains. I could occassionally see an image here or there but my friend said she didn't see anything at all.

Overall we were pretty dissapointed with WoC. I may try it again on my next trip but am undecided.

The original plan was then to head back to DL since it was open another hour or so but our bodies and feet protested so instead we headed back to our room.

We promptly changed into our nightclothes and fell right into a deep sleep. (I use a sleep program on my iphone that tracks the sleep I get by body movements, I pretty much did not move in my sleep for 7 hours! Total time slept that night was about 9 hours!)

Paula,
I really liked the Pics of TSM. I do like the que at DHS. Although in DCA I liked the rollercoaster going overhead too. You'll have to work on those scores. ;)

Sorry WoC didn't work out. Sounds like you were too far to the side. There really is some advantage to the Blue and Yellow zones. I'll be getting picnics forever for it I think. popcorn::

Ya Know... I didn't even notice the coaster right overhead! I'll have to pay better attention next time!

And yes.. I know I need to work on my scores.... I think I did better the second time I rode it with Sara...

Subscribing and enjoying your report! :goodvibes

Thanks for joining in!

So today/yesterday I get a phone call at 11:03pm just as I am laying my head on my pillow to go to sleep. It is the staffing department of the hospital I work for calling to ask if I am there. :confused:Um no.. I'm at home about to go to sleep. They go on to say that I am supposed to be at work. I said no. I'm supposed to be at work tomorrow night! They say no its tonight and next week you have an extra day. I said no I have a voicemail from the person I am working for that says tomorrow night. She says well we have you down for Mother/Baby tonight. I sigh and say okay. :confused3 I will be there as soon as I can. I then hurry and shower and run out the door. :drive: (I was not smiling like the smily though!) I get to work and check my mailbox but the staffing request saying which day I am supposed to be there is not in the folder so I proceed to the Mother/Baby department where I immidatly say to the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) that this is not my fault I am late. I was told I was working tomorrow and not today. So she follows up on it AND I was right! :cool1: I am not supposed to be at work tonight but in fact tomorrow. So the ANM said I had a choice, I can either stay for the shift or I can go home. I said Well I'm here now I mindswell stay...

So besides a bunch of blabber what does this mean?!?!? It means I have an extra shift I wasn't counting on and therefore I should be able to go on my next trip I was hopeful about! So December trip here I come! (well technically kinda november/december, but mostly december) I am hoping to drive to DL Nov 29th after work and come back Dec 3rd so I will have Nov 30-Dec 2 as park time!

I better get going on this trip report so I can write the next one when I get back!! :rolleyes1
