We're pro's at Disney on our own. I even did fine when we've taken our 1st DS. We only use bus transport and use Tiffany Towncar etc. Part of the joy is not driving for my DH.

Now we're going w/ 2 kids.

DO you rent a car? Seems like you have to for the stroller (we planned on taking a double..baby will be 1 and I don;t want to rent the hard plastic ones). Then I'm thinking well we need a SUV or minivan and not a car to fit the stroller and luggage.

Do you take the bus or mainly drive yourself? What are the park parking lots like? We're going in early October. Never been that time but supposed to be a slower time. Is there a tram? Are the strollers easy to get on them?

I'm freaking out about the driving thing. We'll probably end up spending $350 on a SUV and then end up cramming on the bus w/ baby and big stroller and 4yr old if DH does not want to drive.

Any advice on how you travel around w/ 2 kids about 1yr and 4yr old?

Thanks.

We always rent a car for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children, 12 yo, 11yo and 6 yo), but only because we stay in a DVC unit and we do grocery shopping, visit the outlet stores and if we are eating at another resort we will drive rather than take the bus.

If you normally do not drive, then I would do the same. Why add that extra cost? The only thing that will be a pain will be folding the stroller up each time you board the bus, but I think it would be more of a pain folding it up and cramming on trams.

It has been a while since we had a double stroller, but I really do think you'll do fine.

When my kids were little we did the bus trips with a single full size stroller. That was a real pain, especially if you stay in the park until it closes. When the buses are packed, people pack on like sardines and show very little mercy to the poor dad with the stroller. (Mom was generally carrying one of the kids with their head on her shoulder.) :bride:

Ideally, you get a spot near the door. Most of the time you get pushed back into the bus and have a heck of a time getting out when your stop comes up. (Unless you are the last stop.) On more than one occassion, the bus driver actually closed the door before I could get off. Granted, this is the worst case scenario. (Park Closing) If you will travel to and from at off peak times, it's not so bad. I would much prefer the tram to get to my car. People cannot pack in like they do on the bus. Everybody is seated.

We are going in November and plan to use the busses for theme park travel and may use the car if going to another resort. My children are 5 and almost 3 and we are trying to decide on one stroller or two. Our situation is a little different since we have 4 adults and the 2 children. My dd22 and her bf22 will each supervise a child on/off the busses -- my dh and I will take care of the stroller(s) and any bags that we may have.

We will be going with a 4 year old and 1 year old in Sept. I am taking two umbrella strollers so we'll be able to fold them easily when we get on and off the busses. Each of them has a sun shade and we'll get plastic covers for each of them for use during the many rain showers. We will each carry a backpack so we won't need storage under the strollers. I am leaving the double at home.

Taking 2 strollers is not an option for us. We take turns riding some rides..not baby swap.. just he'll ride one then I'll ride a different one. The other person waiting would be stuck in 1 spot w/ 2 strollers so that would not work w/ the way we tour.

I'm just not sure about getting on the bus w/ DH handling the stroller and backpack and me holding the baby...and our 4yr old running around..and forget it if we have a package!! I know to have things shipped back to the room so that will help.

I know I'm overly freaking over this

Thanks for any and all advice.
