1st. time on SW Air what should I know?

OK - 1st time with family on SW. I used them once for business to Las Vegas from LA - it was fine, but I did end up center seat..UGH...

Anywhoo...Please advise as to what we should do to maximize our chances of sitting together (if there is anything we can do)...All tips and strategies if any exist are appreciated - we are Southwest Virgins basically!

(Our family is small - just 3 of us, me, DH, and DS who is 12yrs old....)

As long as you get an A boarding pass, I doubt there would be any problems at all. The last time I flew, I was running late, and made it to the gate just as they started to board. I was the last A to board. When I got on, there were still plenty of completely empty rows... however, you had to go past the wings to get to them. Most of the B's seemed to be unwilling to do this, and I could hear complaining about being split up... The FA's kept reminding folks to head towards the back, but *shrug*


Oh, and you can print boarding passes out starting at 12:01am. Lobby Concierge can print them out for your return trip too.

For later flights, I've printed them as late as 3pm, and still got A passes for my guests. However, the sooner the better.

I've been a "C" and our group of three sat together. In fact, all the times we've flown SW we always sit together.

Get there early so you can get a A boarding pass. But, last year we used SW and had an A boarding pass and still had to split up. There are 4 of us, so it wasn't that bad my DH and I each had a child.

Thanks all for the responses. I'm going to print out our boarding passes tonight @ 12:01 - hopefully we'll be OK. Otherwise - oh well....as long as I'm not center seat, I can deal with anything....I hate center seat in coach!
