Be sure to follow the 3-1-1 rules for liquid and gels that you carry on the plane. That includes lipgloss (the gel/liquid type), so be sure to check your cosmetics bag before boarding! Guess who forgot once? *oops*

I usually switch everything over at home and missed one. *sigh*
In addition to my carry-on bag that goes in the overhead compartment, I carry a tote bag that will fit under the seat in front of me. It contains my purse, an extra pair of reading glasses (five-hour flight to MCO), reading material, tissues, hand lotion, lip conditioner (removed from the 3-1-1 ba
g after security), some snacks, a bottle of water, and anything else I think I might want during the flight. I rarely remove anything from my purse while in flight (hence the duplicate glasses, lotion, etc.), but my purse (not the tote) does go to the head (restroom) with me.
BTW, I lock my carry-on after going through security. I don't like placing something in the overhead compartment that anyone can access the contents too easily. Although, as my father always said, "locks are for honest people." If someone really wants to get into a bag badly enough, they will! My philosophy is to make it as difficult as possible! *LOL*
Even my tote bag can be locked, although I never have done so. But if I were planning to sleep during a flight, I certainly would lock it! But I admit I can be overly cautious about that sort of thing!
Just use common sense--what makes sense to you--and you will be fine!
You're going to have a magical holiday!
