Hi guys!

So I could really really really use some guidance here! I am a WDW trip planning expert. But I am a complete newbie to Disneyland! :scared1: This long weekend trip has totally crept up on me and I really need to get hotel and airfare booked for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend. My friend and I are looking to travel from May 12-15.

Does anyone have any recommendations/advice/preferences on the Good Neighbor Hotels? The options I have that come with a RunDisney discount are the following:

Anaheim Majestic Garden
Best Western Plus Pavilions
Best Western Plus Stovall's Inn
Clarion Hotel Anaheim
Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort
Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Anaheim
Homewood Suites by Hilton - Anaheim Maingate Area
Springhill Suites Anaheim Main Gate

Especially since we're there for such a short time, we'd like to be able to walk to the parks.

If you have other recommendations that you feel are worth looking at please feel free to make suggestions!

Thanks so much for any guidance you guys can provide! :flower3:

The only one on your list that I've stayed at is best western stovall - overall it's a nice hotel with a free hot breakfast and within walking distance to the starting corrals for the races and the parks
Double check the websites directly though because sometimes I have found that the run Disney rates are slightly more expensive than what I can get by booking direct with the hotel online

It's funny you mention that, because I was doing a little comparison shopping and the hotels are actually cheaper even on the regular Disneyland website. RunDisney seems to have become an upcharge :sad2:

I would shop DIRECTLY using the Hotel websites, which usually have the lowest price (and they guarantee it).

I would look at the close Hotels within walking distance. Some of the newer Properties I like..

Country Inn & Suites.

Holiday Inn Express

Hyatt House

Springhill Suites (Harbor and Katella)

Hotel Indigo

The Courtyard Main Gate on Manchester (but tends to be in the high end of pricing).

The Sheraton Park is nice, though older.

Red Lion on Harbor.

So that is a start for good properties for two adults, most come with a free breakfast.

I recommend staying at a hotel on the west side of the parks, so that you don't have to pass through security when going to and from the expo and race areas. I've stayed at Stovalls and Springhill Suites for races and both locations were good. Stovalls opened their breakfast early on race day, Springhill Suites did not. The Holiday Inn on that side is a great location for races but I haven't stayed there.

Thanks everyone for the advice, it has been very helpful!

Of the hotels you listed, only the Springhill Suites made it into our top 10 Good Neighbor Hotel list.

However, since it looks like RunDisney may not be such a discount after all, definitely check out these too:

ANAHEIM MARRIOT SUITES

BEST WESTERN PLUS ANAHEIM INN

CANDY CANE INN

DOUBLETREE SUITES BY HILTON

HAMPTON INN & SUITES

HOWARD JOHNSON HOTEL

HYATT PLACE AT ANAHEIM RESORT

RESIDENCE INN ANAHEIM RESORT AREA

WYNDHAM HOTEL ANAHEIM

We've written up quick reviews of these, so you can find all the amenities of each here. Just scroll down a bit to the Good Neighbor Section.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks so much, this is very helpful!
