Here is our situation.... we just bought a resale with June use year. the left over points are coming in June. We would like to make reservations for Oct.

Do we have to wait til June to make those reservations? Would we have to "borrow" those points if we want to make reservations right away?
The stay would be at SSR so, by what I've read on here, I don't think we have to worry about getting a room if we wait til June but I would feel better if we got it earlier.

Just for my knowledge.....Is it considered "borrowing" if you don't have the points yet but the date of your stay is after you would normally get the points?

Assuming you want to make a reservation at your home resort, then you can call right now because you're within the 11-month booking window already.

When you can call has nothing to do with when you get your points. Technically you already have your June points in your account. So even though you would call today, MS would use those June 2009 points to make your October 2009 reservation.

If it isn't going to be at your home resort, then the 7 month window for October begins next month: March. You can call on the equivalent date in march for your desired checkin date in October. Example: You want to checkin on October 10th, then you call anytime beginning March 10th.

And no, you are not 'borrowing' any points since you are using points within their designated use year's timeframe. For June Use years, 2009 points are good from 6/1/09 thru 5/31/10. If instead you needed to use your June 2010 points for an October 2009 vacation, then that would be a case of 'borrowing'.
