is it still around? Was it a TS or CS? Do you remember what you had? Mine was at Pinnochio Village Haus back in'88. Was a young college Freshmen on break with friends who each got the Double Cheeseberger so we could use the Fixings bar and put what seemed like 25 or more of the little pickels and 10 tomato slices so that we could conserve money and have it be the only meal we ate. Those were the days.:cool1:

I won't count the time I was 5 since I don't remember.

1st time was Cosmic Ray's. Freshman year - High school music dept. trip. I had chicken fingers, and yes, it's still around. It wasn't THAT long ago, I'm only 24 now. ;)

1996 we had our first meal at Artist Point. They had a character breakfast with Pluto and Goofy. Food was okay. View was real nice. I was not really impressed with the restaurant, food or decor.
We finally went there for dinner in December of 05 and it was awesome. The place is much more atmospheric and pretty after dark.

I was 5 when we first went to WDW so I don't remember specifics, however I know for a fact that the first place I ate at was the Crystal Palace. I love looking back at the pictures. It wasn't a character meal, but it became one of the places we always ate at during our trips. I havn't been back since my grandmother passed away which was in 89' because it's to emotional but maybe when my son comes that can be his first meal!

The first place I remember was Chef Mickey's when it was located in what is now called Downtown Disney! It was not buffet either!

I remember eating there! My first trip to WDW was in 1986 and I just don't remember the first place I ate.

The first place we ate with DS was Mickey's Backyard BBQ. He was 8 and adamant that he was too old for character meals. That is until Goofy got to him and started messing with his hair, taking his hat, etc. The picture I have of that first character encounter are priceless! And now at 12 he still looks forward to the character meals!

It was in 2005- I know! I know! I didn't start going until I was an adult. We went to Chef Mickey's!! We fell in love, now it is a tradition to go there the first night we arrive.:goodvibes

It was back in the early 80's.... we ate at the Tomorrowland Terrace (now Cosmic Ray's).... my parents loved to go in there for lunch so we could watch the "rock" band "Tabasco" perform. We thought the stage rising from the floor was too cool back then :thumbsup2 I still remember them playing Laura Branigan and Mr. Mister songs :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, let me grab my cane - I am the oldster here! My parents took us December of 1972. We didn't eat out all the much but I remember that we ate at the (was it Oscar Mayer) restaurant for breakfast where Tony's now is located, the cafeteria in the Crystal Palace, Casey's and I think we had dessert only one time in the castle. Mom also liked riding the boat to Fort Wilderness and we would buy sandwiches at the store there and have a picnic. My parents favorite place was Morrison's cafeteria with many locations in the area. A blast from the past.:thumbsup2

I don't remember as a kid/teen...but my first meal at WDW with my son was about 14 years ago. He was 4 and we went to Mickey's Tropical Luau.
It was fun, we went to the "beach" and fed our coconut bread to the birds afterward.

Our first restaurant that we dined at in WDW was the Crystal Palace. It is so good, and IMO worth every penny. :)

the first resturant we ate at was Crystal Palace when it was a cafeteria. I was disappointed when it became a buffet.

Rose & Crown.

Had a pint of Tenants Lager and the Scotch Eggs. (I don't think they have them any more, although they are in one of the MM Cookbooks.

Hardboiled eggs, encased in (breakfast) sausage, dipped in bread crumbs and deep fried. Heart attack central. Served cold with a honey-mustard dipping sauce.

My first meal was at the Polynesian a character breakfast back in 91..... I still remember the thick cinnamon crusted french toast, it was the best thing I had EVER tasted! I ate so much I nearly got sick! I wish they still served that french toast!!!:goodvibes

Iloveokw....can I borrow your cane? We didn't have much money at all back in those days. It was a huge treat for us to go to WDW when they had the special Fla Residents rate...I think it was $10 a day!! I do remember Casey's being one of the only places we could afford to eat, but we still love grabbing a dog at Disney!

Been there many times when I was a little kid but the first place I remember is in 85, I was just about 14 and went to FL to spend the summer with my aunt and uncle. They took us to WDW and we ate at the upstairs French restaurant in Epcot. I had a chicken dish with french onion soup, salad and bread. My sister had potatoes, bread and salad, she was going through a weird phase and that is all she ever ate no matter where we went.

The first time I went was during spring break in 1978. We had hot dogs somewhere in Tomorrowland, as I recall. I remember sitting in an outdoor dining area that is still there, but, I don't think the place we ate is still there. It wasn't Cosmic Ray's or anything else that I recognize now (and we go at least twice a year). I remember that the characters at that time just walked around among the guests. There were no long lines of people wanting autographs and photos. We just got to shake hands with Mickey and Minnie. This was actually on a very crowded day for the times--the parking lot was totally full by 10 am that day, and they were turning away guests. I remember waiting about 2 hours to ride Space Mountain.

That really wasn't that long ago.....was it? Disney wasn't cheap, but it was affordable if you saved. It is getting soooo expensive.

I went for a day on college spring break back in 1981. There were 9 of us and I know we must have eaten something somewhere. It wasn't memorable though.

But in 1992 we made our first family trip- DH & I and DS4 & DS 18mo. Again only one day as we were driving through the area on the way to West Palm from Chicago. I planned out the whole day from park opening to park closing. And when everything went so smoothly- we were hooked.
We ate lunch at Tony's Town Square which we really enjoyed. But the best was dinner at King Stefan's Banquet Hall (in the castle- now Cinderella's Royal Table). It was beautiful and very special- and the only time we have eaten in the castle!
