Just back from our first trip with Magic Bands & Fast Pass +. We are frequent Disney goers (well, as frequent as money and vacation time allow! Our goal is once a year.) Last time we were there was Sept 2013 (we missed 2014 - boo- but went twice in 2013.)
I'll go against the grain here and say overall I really liked them. We had some family decide to join us for a day (they live in FL) after we had booked everything, and getting them to coordinator fastpass + times made me nervous, but it all worked out.
The phone app was mostly easy to use. One day my husband got sick meaning I needed to quickly change or fastpasses to choose attractions that would let me be there solo with a 8, 6 and 3 yr old, and that was so much easier than I thought.
I also loved that we didn't have to send a runner to get a fastpass for rides.
On one of our Magic Kindgom Days it ended up that we got 5 passes including one for Wishes. That was awesome and really reduced wait times all day.
It was really easy. Our kids loved scanning their bands after rides to capture their pics.
