Its really that simple. I am going next year.

So its either:

1BR at Boardwalk with Boardwalk view, or
1BR at BeachClub

I realise that BW with a BW view is far harder to get (9 units I believe) than a 1BR at BC (20 units I believe). So that's my dilemma.

It's for 1 week, so won't be doing a split stay.

Thoughts?

Depends what appeals to you most—the excitement of people-watching guests and entertainers on the BoardWalk or quick access to the IG from BWV.

I’d probably go for BWV for something so different from our usual VGF stays.

However, being barely a 5-minute walk from BCV to WS appeals mightily, too.

Maybe someone with owner knowledge of the current condition of each set of villas will weigh in. We’ve not stayed in either.

I want to try all the DVC resorts but both are available for the week I want to stay.

I just want to book whichever would be the hardest to get usually.

But according to another source there are only 9 BW units?

We have stayed in both - BWV more often (GV, 2bdrm, 1bdrm and studios) and BC more recently (2 bdrm in Feb 2022). It's hard to go wrong with either choice.

If looking to do a pool vacation, SAB is hard to beat especially when comparing a entry ticket at TL or BB.

We prefer BWV by a hair - our minor complaints about BCV include the room views (ours was of the roadway and felt a little on the edge of the disney bubble) and that it felt like a schlep to the bus stop from the DVC rooms. With that said, wouldn't turn down the chance to stay there again!

If question is purely what is harder to at 7 months, I would say BCV assuming it's a time of year with swimming weather. But if SAB doesn't appeal to you, I think BWV is way better for adults.

I actually like BCV over BWV for ease to Epcot and the BCV pool being so close…i haven’t used SAB…my kids were never big swimmers so they had no interest in it the times we stayed.

We have done BW at BWV and it can be nice.but we also prefer the main floor rooms with the walled balcony as well to give us some privacy when hanging out…which does mean standing to see things.

Not to mention being able to get food or snacks without going out in the rain

If you plan to spend more than a day at DHS, my advice is to choose BWV. That's the better location to walk to DHS, and it's only a few minutes more than BCV to walk to EPCOT.

Based on difficulty - take the Boardwalk view if it's available. I never regret staying there.

The only reason why I chose BC is because I don't know how much the major rehab going on at BW will impact things. Ordinarily the BW view can't be beat.

This is why we're going to be modifying our BWV 1-nighter next May.

DH reacts to offgassing from recently painted surfaces for a week after they're painted. With news that BWV is getting a refurb in 2023 or 24, he doesn't want to risk a stay there until it's long since done.

Durnit! I was looking forward to our first BWV stay in an overlook villa no less. Another time, sadly.

While you can't go wrong with either, I would likely do the 1 bedroom at the BC. We were in a 1 bedroom at the BW earlier this year and honestly, the rooms/resort needed some TLC. And for me, while the BW view is lovely, it is also noisy and if there is a night I want to sleep a little earlier, it made it a challenge to fall asleep (yes, I am that oddball that might sleep a bit early on vacation). Furthermore, I like the food options being so much closer at the BC (as others have mentioned) and I enjoy the quick service breakfast at the BC more than the breakfast options at the BW. Lastly, I enjoy a massage and pedi while on vacation so having the spa close by at the Yacht Club is nice (although, not sure if it's open now -- it was closed during our last visit due to COVID). Either way, enjoy! ☺️

BW view won't be possible without BW points. It's difficult even with BW points. BC 1BR will have a lousy view, but will have SAB. You have to decide which matters more to you.

Both need updating and have the same excellent transportation and location. Except to HS, BW can be a whole lot closer. If you're heavy on HS or like to take a break in the afternoons that might matter. And BW noise, if you go to bed early. The rest of BW is very quiet.

I spent a couple weeks between the two peak Covid and all of the quick service was terrible. I am excited about the new Boardwalk Deli, it is sorely needed. BC also has quite a few places to work and take calls, between the underused DVC common spaces and the atrium space where everyone is working.

And maybe this is silly, but I really enjoy the BC lobby. The smell, the gorgeous flowers, which are real and expensive and grand. Compare that to the long BW hallway and a painful elevator situation, if you have a wheelchair or a stroller.

For ticking the DVC bucket list, obvious choice is BW view. I finally got it for this weekend and here comes a hurricane. BOO. BC 2BR is surprisingly easy to book at 7 months. I've done it multiple times.

I am assuming there are fewer 1BR BW view units than 1BR BC units.

I want to stay 9 nights in the one which is going to be hardest to book. Not too bothered about pool etc.

I have a 8 before this stay at CCV in 1 BR

The only reason to stay at BC is the pool there.

Yes you will save a little distance walking to Epcot but from BWV you walk right by the boat so you can more easily grab it or skip it on the way to Epcot.

Flip side the walk to HS is shorter from BW so easier to get there extra early if you are trying to rope drop instead of dealing with the boats.

I think you're forgetting the lock-offs and just looking at dedicated. I count around 91 1BR's at BCV and Boardwalk view is 31 1 Br's I believe. So almost triple the 1BR's at BCV vs Boardwalk views. That plus often booking at the Epcot resorts so having some idea of expected availability drove my recommendation that if Boardwalk view is available then book it. It's more difficult to get than BCV 1BR's.
