plus Chef Mickey's, Coral Reef, 'Ohana breakfast and dinner, and SciFi.....

Cast: me (34 yr old mother and teacher), Nicholas (ds10), and Kimberly (dd8) who was celebrating her birthday on this trip.

11/16-arrival day-4:30 adr: We were the 2nd family to check in at 4:20 when they opened the doors at 1900 Park Fare. The first little girl got to open the restaurant, but the cm made Kimberly a birthday button to wear. She had changed her mind at the last minute and didn’t want to wear her Cinderella dress, but she wore the headband and choker.

Kimberly doesn’t eat much-never has. But she filled her plate up here. We sat right in front of the children's buffet section, and she helped herself! I had heard lots of negative reviews since the rehab, but this was our favorite restaurant of the week. The food was wonderful (I ate something from every section), and the characters were outstanding! We will definitely go back here. Prince Charming came around first, then Cinderella. Kimberly was in heaven. Next came Lady Tremaine. Kimberly hugs all the characters, and Lady Tremaine was no different! I think she was in shock when Kimberly wrapped her arms around her. She patted Kimberly on the head and commented on how sweet she was. The waitress came over laughing afterward and said she had never seen anyone do that before. The stepsisters were a hoot! Kimberly brought baby Simba (her favorite stuffed animal from last year) with her, and Anastasia made him part of the show! Kimberly was heading to the ice cream machine when Anastasia called her up and had her throw Simba to her. Drizella was also hilarious. The waitress was so great we got her picture too! Kimberly got a cupcake, placemat, and crown in addition to the birthday button.

11/17: We had 'Ohana breakfast at 10:20. The restaurant wasn't full, and the characters took their time with the kids. The food was good. The skillet came quickly, along with the fruit, and waffles came out later. We wouldn't do it every trip, but highly recommend it at least once! Kimberly got another birthday button here. The waitress said her handwriting was prettier! She also got a lei and would have gotten a cupcake, but the kids were full and ready to go. We knew we would see Mickey later in the week, so we didn't wait around for him.

11/17: For dinner we ate at Coral Reef at 5:30. The restaurant was beautiful, and service was great, but I didn't enjoy the food here, and wouldn't go back. Nicholas and I both had the land and sea appy (we liked the shrimp). Kimberly had the lobster soup and wouldn't touch it. I tried it but didn't like it at all. He had the steak, and was able to eat about 3/4 of it (he loved being an "adult"). I tried it and it was good. I had the catfish. I like spicy, but this was just overpowering. Kimberly had the mahi mahi, and only ate the potatoes (very small serving) that came with it. They initially brought her mac and cheese and I wish I had just kept it! I had heard so much about the chocolate wave that I ordered it, but didn't enjoy it at all. Nicholas liked his key lime tart ok, and Kimberly ate part of her sundae. It just wasn't our kind of food!

11/18: We had an 11:00 adr at SciFi, and got there about 10:40. People were being turned away constantly. We were seated at 11 right in front. The kids were in the front seat, and I was in the middle, no one in the back. I ordered onion rings and chips and dip (both ok) for us all to share (she got a salad for her appy). I just had the waitress put everything on my table and I put some on the small plates and passed them to the kids. Nicholas and I got shakes for our drinks, and Kimberly was able to get one as her dessert. We got a bottled water as her drink and took it with us. She got a huge hot dog and fries, and Nicholas and I both got burgers. They were delicious! I got the cobbler (not great) and Nicholas got the Sundae for dessert. I was going to have them share it, but the waitress brought her one free of charge! They loved laughing at the old clips (Kimberly wanted to know why there was no color and they couldn't believe anyone thought they were scary). We will be going back here again!

For dinner we just ate at ABC Commissary. Nicholas got another burger, and Kimberly and I got fish and fries. She loved the fish-I was still full from lunch and didn't eat much of mine, but they were ok.

11/19: We were going to eat an early lunch at Sunshine Seasons before hitting World Showcase, but at 10:30 they were only serving breakfast. A cm told me they wouldn't be serving lunch until 11, so we headed over to World Showcase. We had lunch in Norway. We won't eat here again. Nicholas wanted a kids meal here, so he and Kimberly both got the pb&j sandwich. I got the roast beef and seafood soup:scared1: For dessert we got schoolbread (really good), some kind of cream filled horn? (not so good) and chocolate cake (ok). We filled up on the desserts.

For dinner we ate at Chef Mickey's. We had a 4:10 adr, and got there at 3:50. This was the only adr we had to wait on, and that was because our pager didn't go off. At 4:30, I went to see how much longer it would be and was told they paged me 20 minutes ago! We enjoyed this meal, and would do it again, but not on every trip. Kimberly got another placemat and cupcake, and got to be a special guest in the napkin twirling ceremony. It is also a great place to get 5 autographs without standing in line.

11/20: no adrs today!

We had lunch at Pizzafari-just ok. We got a cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza-2 was more than enough for all 3 of us. The theming is nice though.

I had planned to have dinner at Mara, but at the last minute we decided to go to DTD and eat at Wolfgang Puck Express. It was very nice-not like a CS at all. We sat outside next to the fountain. The kids had chicken strips and fries, and I had the rosemary chicken and mashed potatoes-which were delicious. Nicholas and I had brownies, and Kimberly had a cookie. They were huge and very good (finished them the next day). I did make a mistake and got the flavored tea (not good at all!). Since you get free refills there, I poured it out and got diet coke, but the flavor was still there!

Thanks for the reviews! It's nice to hear something positive about 1900 Park Faire. Maybe they're working out some of the kinks.

11/21: I had planned lunch at CHH, but the kids wanted to go to Cosmic Ray's (they love Sunny Eclipse!). Nicholas and I got burgers, and Kimberly got a hotdog. It was all good. We brought the chocolate cake home and had them for breakfast today (we got back yesterday afternoon). We got there at 11 and had no problems finding an empty table, but by the time we left it was filling up (the park was packed since it was the day before Thanksgiving!).

For dinner we ate at 'Ohana. We were all tired, and the kids really didn't enjoy it here. I loved the steak, and Nicholas and I loved the dessert. Kimberly ate mac and cheese. Our server was fantastic and I didn't feel rushed at all. I probably won't come back, but just because the kids really didn't enjoy this kind of food (Nicholas loves shrimp but didn't like the flavor of these). Kimberly wouldn't even join in the activities, but again this was day 6 of our trip and we were exhausted.

That's what I think. We really had a wonderful time-the kids talked about it all week.

11/22: We had to leave on ME at 10, so we just stayed at Sports and had breakfast at the foodcourt. We all had chocolate chip pancakes (4 huge pancakes!), which came with 2 drinks each. We got chocolate milk and a lemonade to take with us. We had one CS left, and the cashier told me I could get 2 Mickey rice crispy treats with it. We drank the lemonades at the airport before going through security, and the kids ate the treats on the plane.
