1900 Park Fare Too Scary?

I wonder if the Prince will ask me to dance if I dress up as Cinderella? He's a cutie. ;)

You know that is a good idea of starting a thread about what to say back to the step family especially the mother. My DD is quiet and shy but not so little. If one of the step sisters said something "mean" to he she would most likely just sit there.

I guess that is where I come in. Me, with my mouth. Oh man am I ever looking forward to this meal. Then to top it off we are going on the 1st of April. Imagine that spending April fools day with them.

I also made an ADR for the dinner there too on purpose. I wanted to spend April fools day with the Mad Hatter. :rotfl2:

We went last summer and the step sisters were not mean or rude. It was the step mother that was very mean and had nothing nice to say.

If you compliment them, they turn into you best friends :) Tell them they are so much prettier than Cindy and that they are better than what the prince deserves. Tell the step mother that she made the right decision to not let Cindy go tto the ball, cause afterall, chores come first. L.T. was ranting about mice and how she didn't like them...remind her that her boss is a mouse...but it could put you on her bad side...hehehe.

We were there this past Dec. It was myself, DH, DD5, and DS2. This was my DD favorite place bc of the step sisters. They are funny in my opinion. The Step mothers asked my DD if she would like to dance with one of her daughters when Cinderella and The Prince were dancing. It was a lot of fun. My DD had a smile from ear to ear the whole time. I do not believe it to be scary at all. My daughter also met the Step Sisters and the Step Mother beside the castle and they poked a little fun bc she had on crocs when it was about 50 out but they asked if she had on socks and she said yes so they then told she was alright then. She had a sweatshirt with a hood on it and they pulled it up over her head to make her warm. It was very cute and my daughter enjoyed all of them.

We had "props" at 1900. We actually have a toy set of figurines of Cinderella, stepsisters, and stepmother, about 2 inches tall. The steps were all thrilled to see toys of themselves, because "Everybody just has toys of HER" (Cinderella). Stepmother was pleased with the likeness of her, "They even got the eyebrows right". The sisters would play with them and put Cinderella under a napkin, etc. No one had time to be rude with us, they were playing! Though Charming was a little sad there wasn't a toy of him.

Drizella chose the perfect dance partner, a red-faced 13-ish boy there with his grandparents right next to us. She screeched at him, "Why won't you make eye contact!" It was hilarious.

It's always fun to have props or some questions ready for any character. Gives them something to go on.

Also... remember that if the characters are being too abrupt for your children, you can ask them to tone it down. I have always found the characters to be very respectful of parents wishes when the kids are getting upset... especially the face characters that are allowed to speak. You can also redirect the interaction to yourself as opposed to your children if they are feeling intimidated.

We did this dinner about 18 months ago when it was still Suzy and Perla there. My DD had a BBB makeover and went as Cinderella. She got lots of special attention from the characters, and Prince Charming asked her to dance! BUT... if your DD is easily intimidated, that may be too much for her too handle. I can only imagine the attention she would get from the steps if she went dressed up!

Is the fairy godmotehr normally there? She wasn't last year for our visit?

We loved this. DD was actually sick earlier that day and was not herself, but she still enjoyed it. Her goal was to meet "Prince Charming". He twirled her around and she still talks about it. DD was wearing an Ariel gown and the sisters kept callong her Fishy girl. (It took me awhile to get it. LOL) DD wouldn't tlak to them, but they just teased her a bit and she laughed after they left and watched them. She wants to dance with them this year.
Lady Tramaine was kind of quiet and DD didn't seem to like her much.

Here is a few shots from our visit last year.

We went in Nov 08 and it was almost the best character meets we had all trip, Evil Queen just edged it for numero uno. They stunned our kids into silence but they grinned like cheshire cats the whole way through it as the Stepmum dished out withering one liners and the Stepsisters "entertained" us with their trully unique singing styles. I would say they are savvy enough to know if their "act" is too strong and will tone it down when needed but I would expect most folk have a whale of a time.

We had the same sisters that karibritt01 met

They are kind of loud - but not mean to the kids.

My DD Maddie asked Anastacia if she could sing line in the movies. It was hilarious. Anastacia invited my DDs to sing the song Nightengale from the movie with her, but once she (Anastacia) started screeching all my girls could do was stare at her. Later Maddie asked Drizilla if she liked being turned into a frog in teh 3rd movie, Drizilla played it up and had both our girls laughing hard.

The man at the table behind us tried to buy one of the stepdaughters from the stepmother - that was pretty funny. The girls got loud trying to find out how rich he was, etc.

It really was a fun meal, and we can't wait to try it again this year.

Thanks for the recommendation for the Disneyland Sing Along, goofygal531!
I just ordered it from Amazon.com and I just know it will help get the kids in the mood for our vacation!!:cutie:

Hi everyone!d:wave2:

Thanks for all the fun advice and input. I did check out youtube - who knew so much about WDW was on there!:confused3 :)

I think you're all right - no way is it scary - just loud. :rotfl: We'll just have to keep the fun in mind.

I need to find the Disneyland video at the library if I can. :surfweb:

We need to start a list of questions for characters we'll meet. I definitely think it'll be helpful.

I'm so excited now about eating there - never mind the kids' opinions. :lmao:

Off to work I go. :laundy:
